For what its worth, my experience with PF was horrible - it was so bad I even had a couple of cortisone shots injected into my heel to ease the pain, but the benefit did not last long. Good shoes (I wear Merrells too) and inserts help and unbelievably, it will go away, but may take some time. For me, it was here one day…

stuff with ham and cheese, or garlic butter, or whatever fits in your plan. Paint with mustard (any, but I prefer Dijon) then sprinkle with herbs and bake. Make a light tomato sauce. Pound them out thinly and pan fry - no need to use breadcrumbs or egg, but you can if you wish. LOTS of ways to eat chicken breasts!!

I even put sour cream on top of mine!

Any bread is ok, just mind the slices per day that are consumed. If you are looking for a lower calorie bread, or a multi grain or something like that, you will have to read a lot of labels to find one that you think is appropriate, as they vary so much from one another. There is always Weight Watchers bread, but the…

Me too - thyroid problems for the last 28 years, on levothyroxine, dosages have been raised and lowered over the years, but no problem losing on CICO.

Its pretty hard to get someone else to change habits if you are not in control of what and how much they are eating. You can suggest that he try cauliflower, sweet potatoes or any other veg to take the place of potatoes or chips, but he may not know how to prepare something new and might have to be shown or have some made…

Not having a single Tom Hortons timbit, even though they have been in the office for 3 days now (they are going in the trash right now)

Every fad diet, every other attempt at losing weight - they all started out the same - really easy, lose weight, feel good, look good then BAM! I end up going back to old habits because the program is either too restrictive, too complicated or just doesnt suit my individual needs. This time on CICO, easy start up, and has…

I tend to do all the household errands and yard work on the weekends, so burn/move more, and try to get out of the house and away from everything thats lurking in the cupboards! I try to keep busy and distracted, so that I dont thing about meals. Also, I prelog anything that I think I might be eating over the weekend, and…

I weigh every six weeks or so, when I visit the doctor. I am going next Monday, and the last time I was there was, I think around the beginning of March. I dont own a scale, and wont. I dont think I could emotionally or psychologically handle the daily weight fluctuations!!

Oh Gosh - YES!!! Just google "roasted broccoli", and I am sure you will find lots of hits - for me, I just toss florets with some oil and spices and spread them out on a sheet pan. Roast in the oven at 425 F for 10 minutes or so, until you see that the florets are browning and edges are crisping up, then flip for 10 more…

Pigs will eat people, turnabout is fair play I say!! Seriously, I get your dilemma. Although we did have a guinea pig for quite some time and apparently its quite a common dish in some parts of South America......anyway....I find turkey bacon just doesnt cut it. I too have given up on bacon, but enjoy other cuts.

Its a good strategy to always have a comeback for people who are in your business too much. When someone offers an opinion that I do not welcome, I just say "thats nice" - I know its code for "kitten off"!!!

I also vote against steaming ANY vegetable - its just tasteless, wilted crap, IMHO!! Roast it to bring out the natural sugars - use garlic or some chili paste, or balsamic vinegar and oil, toss with sea salt or your favourite spices. You can roast any vegetable and it becomes a completely different texture and flavour -…

Google budget recipes and you will find tons - actually, someone on this board has posted a couple of times about a website called (I think) budget bites or bytes or something like that - maybe someone else can remember and post it for you. My strategy is the same as others - there is only two of us, but I still make…

Your friends and family must just be over the moon with the happy changes they have witnessed in you!! What an awe inspiring journey!! Thank you so much for sharing - it is very motivating!

No, I wouldnt use it - if I were the hostess, I think I would be a little offended. The ONLY way I could see this working is if you spoke to the hostess ahead of time to explain your situation (tell her you are dealing with a medical issue) and were then able to build your own plate before it was served to everyone else.…

I'm a counter because it keeps me aware of what I am doing. I can easily be a mindless eater, grossly underestimating how much I have eaten, and totally (and previously blissfully) unaware of proper portion size. I may never be able to guesstimate how much one serving is of something - I lack the ability to guess anyones…

I will throw out left over cake or other sweet treat - better out than in ME! But other good food I freeze and if its even too much for that, I make dog food out of it - I babysit my granddogs on occasion, and will put together a meal for them out of protein, starch and veg, and they love it! They like going to Nana's…

Yes its quicker, but I bet its the texture that he doesnt like - and the lack of flavour! Try roasting carrots for example - completely different experience than boiled! Or roasted brussel sprouts - roast (or grilling) caramelizes the natural sugars in the veg and makes them sweeter and crunchy too! I love grilled…

Me too - for my goals, I am told to eat at 1200 cals daily, but a lot of days I dont make that level. Not on purpose, mind you - just life gets in the way. So I dont try to load up to reach that level - I just accept that there will be days when I am slightly over 1200 and it will work out. I've lost almost 60lbs since Oct…

This is excactly my strategy for my trip in May - from San Francisco to Alaska to Vancouver. I can almost taste the crab legs now!!

And then you find people like me who dont eat breakfast at all - or rather, breakfast is two cups of coffee!! Then lunch is usually left overs from last nights dinner (lots of turkey lately) and dinner is whatever my husband and I feel like, in appropriate portions for the two of us. I really enjoy cooking so most of our…

I use x lean ground beef and mix it half and half with ground chicken to make up for the reduced fat in the beef. You can of course play with the proportions to get something that you prefer.

I'm also managing a disability which impacts mobility, so I do not exercise other than walk short distances (sometimes with support) and everyday living. I have lost almost 60 lbs since October. I weigh and measure and record everything I eat - that has proved to be key for me in keeping my calorie level in check, and…

I'm a Canadian in Canada who grew up in England. It took me a long time to figure out that pudding meant dessert in UK but wasnt always pudding. I spell my neighbour's favourite colour like this and always get the wavy red lines as if its a mistake - and it isn't. We spell jewellery like the UK, we call soda/pop "drinks"…

I really think you have to be properly fitted at first before you can order on line. Sizes are not standardized. I hope you can find a local shop where they offer this service. Most of the big department stores usually offer this. It will make a huge difference to you to get the right foundation garments.

I'm in Canada, and use Presidents Choice pizza crusts - two thin crusts per pack, available at Loblaws.

The Yoplait dessert selections are great - 35 cals for 100gms. I have one almost every day - boston cream pie, cappuchinno flavour, cafe latte. The lemon only comes in the big tubs now, but I thought it tasted just like lemon meringue pie.

Wow - $30 for the whole month? I dont think Gwyneth whats her name could do that!! And of course, you are doing the challenge when the snow has barely left the ground (Canada - maybe not where you are) but there arent any farmers markets yet and not much is "in season" here. I see lots of potatoes in your future! You can…
