Not always, no. Usually, if the individual hasn’t changed anything else and hasn’t lost over a long period of time, then yes. But in a week? It could be food in the gut, water weight from Hormonal or exercise changes or increase in sodium or even stress. Impossible to know after just a week. OP, give it at least a few more…

From a chemical or physiological stand point I’m not aware of any reaction which would create an actual measurable energy boost. You have to “burn” calories to create energy (energy not being able to be created from Nothing) and just fasting doesn’t mean that you suddenly “burn” more calories or create energy in lieu of…

I do all my workouts fasted - from 20 min jogs to an hour of strength training to half or full marathon swims. Eating even a few hours beforehand makes me queasy.

I can walk 20000 steps and MFP will credit me with say 100 calories. Then i log a swim using Apple Watch and MFP removes the 100 calorie credit I got for walking. The idea is to avoid double crediting you with calories (for instance for steps and for a run) but with some workouts it makes no sense. It’s a bug.

4am 5km run with a tempo run mid set. 5pm 45 mins strength session with PT 5.45pm 15 mins on watt bike

I’m guessing you’ve read the sticky post on this issue? http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10359984/women-menstrual-cycle-weight-and-fitness-matters/p1

So do I. Or if something is in a container (yoghurt for instance) or has an inedible element (ice cream on a stick) I weigh everything, eat the edible portion and then reweigh the packaging and inedible bits. The difference in weight is what I ate.
-
I don’t think that’s British - certainly I’ve never heard of it. Plus it says “Made in the USA” on the packaging...

Gone up 3lbs this week despite being in a fair steep deficit. It’s entirely down to ovulation. It’ll come off (plus a bit more hopefully) over the next couple of week.

If you can get it and don’t mind protein shakes, PhD’s diet whey is 91 calories for a 25g scoop. Blend with water and ice and it’s 17g of protein.

Maybe my local stores just sell the sweetened version? I have no particular reason to favour soya over other types of milk so perhaps I’m simply not noticing it? I’ll check next time I go.

Did a 30 min session for beginners at Club La Santa a few weeks ago. Holy smokes it almost killed me and I’m reasonably fit. A very good cardio workout once you get the hang of it (“push down into the trampoline!”)
-
No necessary. It means you are losing volume - this could be (probably is) a mixture of fat and muscle (which is bulked out with retained water). If you are dieting at a heavy deficit and not doing strength training, you are probably losing muscle as well as fat. If you are strength training and dieting at a reasonable…

Im intrigued - I’ve never seen unsweetened soya milk. Does it have a comparable taste? Why is it usually sold sweetened?

I started this process with the whole concept of “yay, I can eat whatever I want as long as it’s within my calories” and that’s still true. However I’ve ended up eating different foods (some would say “cleaner”) in order to make me fuller for longer and to give me energy to exercise. Plus I’m greedy and want to eat as much…

I was really surprised to hear that at Ben and Jerry scoop shops in the UK their single scoops are only 85g. I’d been recording them as 100g at least. Makes the cost of their ice cream even worse when compared to the cost of a whole tub from the supermarket

I want to give you a huge hug! 🤗 You’re absolutely right - focus on the massive thing you’ve achieved for yourself by losing all that weight. Try not to focus on the little niggles about a bump or lump here and there. Society gives us completely unrealistic images of perfect bodies that most of us, even if we lost huge…

How long since you’ve lost weight? If it’s isn’t long (and it sounds like it isn’t) then it isn’t a plateau. Could easily be water weight gain due to TOM, excess sodium, waste in the bowel, excess sodium, pretty much anything. Be patient and read the sticky thread called something like “weight loss isn’t linear”.
-
Not necessarily although I understand what you are saying. If it’s just been a couple of days of not losing then it could be something else - for instance water retention due to high sodium meal, waste in the bowel, water retention due to TOM etc. If it’s been a couple of weeks without loss, yeah that’s a failure in at…

I misread this and thought it was the “Betty Crocker” meal plan. Cake three times a day is a plan I can easily stick to.

I’m very very English and loathe cucumber sandwiches. Or anything involving cucumbers actually. Ugh. They taste like I imagine sweating feet taste.
-
Just checking that you are weighing all your solids and measuring all your liquids? If not you could easily be eating more than 1600, potentially more than maintenance.
-
I actually gained weight when I started weighing my food and counting calories! There was a degree of water weight gain from a new exercise regime, TOM and various other factors that all contributed. If you are confident of your figures, stick with it. Slow and steady is much more stable then fast and uncertain.

Nice easy 4km swim

Pretty much anything by X Ambassadors

I do double up (doing 20 mins on watt bike, 40 mins strength and then 30-40 mins run). However as my distance increases I might have to start separating them out. I hope not though.

I have an awesome factor 30 by neutrogena that is so good I forget I’m wearing it. And I hate wearing sunscreen

The shoe manufacturers might tell you about 250 miles but most independent retailers and “experts” (ie magazines and websites for runners) usually say 300-500 miles. HOWEVER if you start suffering from recurrent joint or impact injuries, try switching out your trainers as the padding and support may have gone quicker than…

Ok, just to warn you - that’s a fairly sensitive term around here... you might want to be a bit more specific about what you mean by “clean” and the benefits you think it will bring/that you want.
