When I feel that way I make a to do list. We were snowed in last weekend and I cleaned the whole apartment and worked hard enough to feel sore. Something I always tell children I nanny for is there is no excuse for boredom, there is ALWAYS something to do. Always. So no excuses- find something other than snacking to do.

The only food I eat daily that has much sugar added to it is the yogurt I eat, I'm hoping to switch to plain yogurt eventually but the only one I like is so expensive and with how much I eat of it, it might not happen. But I'm consciously trying to avoid sugary foods for the next 4 weeks (including skipping dessert at my…

Yep, find something you don't hate and then make it as easy as possible to do it. I found myself discouraged at the gym so I bought a machine for home and it's made all the difference. That makes it easy for me, I don't have to leave the house (or my husband which was anther reason I didn't want to spend an hour or more a…

Absolutely do not work, just think about it. If everyone else has to watch what they eat and exercise (changes from the inside) does it make sense that something that just squeezes you actually makes you lose weight? I see them like Spanx, they hold you in while you wear it giving an illusion of a smaller waist.

Reading your replies if they're factual, I don't think you should be even exercising at all. Your body needs sleep to recover from exercise and without sleep you will never recover properly so I'd say if you can walk to or from some of your classes and get some sleep you will be better off that stressing about trying to…

Tonight we are making zoodles with marinara and Italian sausage. I'm planning to add some bell peppers and mushrooms to the mix and it will be amazing!

I eat dinner late. I have a snack around 4 and then eat at 7ish, bed at 8:30/9 with a cup of tea taken into the bedroom with me. Just try pushing meals back later. It is perfectly okay to eat just before bed. I tend to eat breakfast 4-5 hours after I wake, sometimes more so everything can be later in the day to help me…

This sounds like a personal decision. If it were me (and it kind of will be on the 29th for a birthday dinner) I'd not chose to have dessert and a high calorie meal- it's one or the other. I've already decided to have a pasta dish because it's a favorite but I won't have dessert. It will be hard because it's happening at…

I have gone cold turkey. My treats are tea and yogurt. Just have to deny that side of my brain, because it's a slippery slope for me. I cannot buy a package that has more than one serving so that eliminates a lot of junk options. Sure, tea does not equal chocolate. But my vanilla Chai is crazy tasty and I'd rather lose…

I don't want to throw out accusations, but to get in control of my binge eating I had to do two things. One was to take care of my mental health. This has been a multi step process but the key for me has been to make exercise my medicine. I suffer from clinical depression and of course seasonal as well. Proper vitamins and…

I know it sounds easier than it is, but working on separating emotion from food has really helped me. Sure I still want chocolate but it's not a knee jerk reaction anymore which helps me make a proper choice rather than impulse eating.

I kind of found my plan by accident the other day while wishing I could get my paycheck right away after a particularly rough day. To calm myself down a bit I found the logic- well sure it would be great to have the fruit of my labor right then, but I have a pay schedule that my employer uses and it's just not gonna…

I've found it to be based on two things: habit, and feeling deprived. When I only eat 600 calories from 8am-5pm I get home and feel entitled to eating whatever because I'm hungry darn it! And I have always been one to snack. Breaking this is tricky, first make sure you're having enough through the day. I don't just mean if…

Realizing losing weight is a simple math equation my body does was important. No special foods or diets, ignore talk about metabolism unless you have a medical condition, your medicines aren't making it harder, etc.... it's JUST calories in versus calories out, eat less than your body needs and it will seek out bodily…

The big was trying to lose too quickly. Extreme deficit, too much exercise, and I ran myself into the ground and gave up. Going with a more moderate approach.

Do you feel better? I've just been walking for work and it's only been a week but I feel much stronger. Perhaps you should check your nutrition and make sure you are getting enough protein, and reign in your calorie countingoal. But as far as this person tearing you down, I've learned the coolest response "(her name), why…

My current goal is to just log everything, even the "cheats". Start there. Eventually you see the impact that extra serving has and hopefully that shows you where you can make a small simple change for yourself. For me, that change is dinner time. I eat great away from home, but then when I get there I'm cooking for myself…

I'm and on again off again member, and today is also my first day back on plan. Honestly I chose now because I also changed jobs recently and found that this is a much better fit for me in schedule and duties (and compensation). Reducing stress in one big area is giving me the energy I need to devote to my key to success:…

My husband and I are having a blast. I even get the kids at work helping me run around looking for them at the park and such. I'm not into levelling them up but I do want to catch them all! I have never seen my husband voluntarily take a walk until this game. Seriously been on him for months and now he has eggs to hatch.

There's a lot of ways to handle a binge. I can tell you from experience it's best to listen to your body the next day, eat if hungry, but don't starve if you are truly hungry. my guts usually hurt for a day or two after a binge so I often have a small appetite. Then when you are hungry just make the same sensible choices…

I just can't deal with that, why does it have to be so thick? Or at least a more cloth like strap would work for me. I need to shop around for sure.

Then honestly, what do you expect from us as far as advice goes? I was the same, no one bothered trying to encourage me or pay for the sports I wanted to play with my friends and I was fat my whole teen years. it sucked, but looking back its just what happened. I ate the foods my parents ate. So does your brother. Maybe he…

It just depends too much. Sometimes I give in, but I hate having to go extra places or make special trips so I often ignore a craving. After dinner it's been a habit to have a sweet treat but we don't buy them at the store anymore due to a team effort to reduce junk. I made a half batch of snickerdoodles last weekend cause…

My best advice is ditch that mindset ASAP. Working hard and making positive changes is worth every ounce of effort, and there are way too many factors that impact the number on the scale. Letting it have that much power will only be negative. This process takes time. Your body needs weeks to get used to your plan to take…

my husband mentioned this game last night... I now have a hope that it will encourage him to come with me to the trails!

All I can say is get a new doctor. My doc is ridiculously supportive. He knows I can't just change in a day, he was open to listening to my opinions about my plan (he initially said try no carbs with dinner and I refused, he said alrighty!), and when the process of talking about it made me emotional he was supportive and…

I think it's due to vanity sizing. To make a person who wears a size 6 feel better they label it as a size 4, making your proper size 6 seem too big if that makes sense. And given that size varies between brands and even different styles of the same brand it's just an unreliable measurement. A size 6 in one brand can be…

It's a personal choice and their own decision, why do you feel the need to question it? I also think the server was rude. You could also have allergies or simply not enjoy sauce, making assumptions is impolite for sure and you should have been made to feel awkward for your dinner choices. I had a waiter call me out for…

I got mine almost two years ago, and I have to say I got super tired of it. I hate the look of it, even the cute colors. I think I just don't like to wear anything, I move and sweat a lot and I'd have to take it off to wipe it down 4 or 5 times a day as the weather heated up and I'm working more. So just think about it and…

I fill in at least breakfast (usually only coffee and assorted coffee accessories) and the lunch/snacks I bring to work. If I can estimate dinner I log it(usually I can. I meal plan the week ahead for grocery shopping but things change sometimes). At the end of the day I weigh my dinner and adjust what I prelogged if I…
