Not necessarily. I work (25-30 hours a week), and I still do all the housework and child rearing. When I'm not at work, I'm at home with the kids. I'm also struggling to find time to exercise.

I wish I could lose that much in one week. But, alas, I'm a short female. :p

I don't plan cheat days. When the opportunity presents itself (a family gathering, etc.) to enjoy something extra, I enjoy it. Otherwise, I am trying to just stick to healthy eating habits.
-
No more than once a week. Usually a lot less.
-
LOL!! :p Me too. I don't eat anything "with" my soups, 'cause my soups are pretty loaded. I even add eggs (poached) to many of my soups.

I NEVER weight myself daily. Weight fluctuates day to day, and a one pound fluctuation is NOTHING.

If you're not already, take vitamin D (D3) supplementation. It's a big help with any type of physical healing and particularly helps with bones.

Found this online: mindbodygreen.com/0-10545/3-steps-to-recover-after-getting-glutened.html Some good tips, particularly to hydrate well to flush it out of your system and the suggestion of a digestive enzyme that contains dipeptidyl peptidase (DPP-IV), which helps to break down the gluten.

I agree with this. Don't let someone else or the status quo keep you from achieving your goals. Either he helps you with this, or you start cooking in "his kitchen" for yourself.

For me, fewer carbs and more healthy fats are what keep me unbloated and regular. Tons of veg and fruit wasn't even helping me with that.
-
Not working great for me either. Service is spotty.

Forget these amateur clowns. I'm what you're looking for. I'm so funny, I not only make other people laugh, but I also slay myself. Now that's talent ;) And funny is not funny enough until someone pees themselves. Preferably someone else, but whatevs. I'll take comedic incontinence in any form.

My trigger foods aren't specific foods and not sweets (rarely crave sweets). For me, somewhat unfortunately, my trigger foods are real food! Potatoes, bread, cheese, chicken, gravy, whatever. All foods are yummy. I can't very well empty my whole kitchen, lol! :p
-
Same for me. Carbs every time. If I ease up on bread, rice, potatoes, etc., I have no bloating.
-
Same here. Short, female, over 40, so my deficit is small. I finally bit the bullet and bought a scale.

When I get hiccups, it revolves around eating times -- like shortly after eating, because I'm digesting, and if I get up and move around, I get hiccups. So, you're eating more, digesting more often = hiccups. Could be a reason.

Not for me. I don't find smoothies satisfying and quickly get hungry. I do better with a high protein, low-carb breakfast or, if I'm not hungry yet, no breakfast at all. I also do better focusing on what foods will nourish my body and increase my good health. I find that just focusing on weight loss results in failure (due…

Some jiggle is to be expected. If it's really saggy skin, unfortunately no amount of time will fix it. Only surgery.

You could try throwing it out the window next time. He might get the picture then. ;)

Right now, I'm doing gluten free bread (the rare time I even eat bread) because I feel better with it; however, I tended to lean towards white bread because, for me, I don't do well with whole grains (IBS-D). They make me ill. Eat what makes you feel better.

I went a month and a half without any weight loss (except for the usual water weight loss), then in the following week, the scale budged 6 pounds. Weight loss is not linear. A pound a week is an average, it doesn't mean you'll lose a pound a week every week in an even line.

My husband is the same but, honestly, it doesn't affect my resolve to eat healthier. Once in a blue moon, I'll have some chips or cookies (I don't believe in the word "never"), but I don't feel the need to eat something just because it's there. I remind myself that I'm trying to take care of my body even if other people…

Perhaps start by setting aside a time of the day (before bed, so you'll be sleeping soon after :p ) to allow yourself a portion of a sweet treat. That way, you have something to look forward to, can stick to your healthy eating during the day, and save some calories for the treat.

I'm 42 years old, 5'3", have 3 kiddos (two teens and an 8-year-old). Heaviest was 164, now at about 158. Also aiming for 135 and then will reassess goals (want to increase muscle mass after dropping some weight).

I'm going back to Paleo/Primal. I felt my best on it (IBS). Sending a request... :)
-
Me! Me! If you don't mind a 40-something-year-old mom. (Hey...I look good for 42!) :p Gonna be kickin' some *kitten*

Haven't eaten mine yet, but I'm having a salad (Dole Chopped BBQ ranch salad) topped with some chunks of ham (in-laws gave us a free ham over the holidays -- gotta use it up).

I agree. Even if you lose, say, 10 pounds, the added exercise (strength training is great too) will give you a nice shape. Hubby will notice :)

Firstly, I will say that 2-lb dumbbells are okay for using with aerobic workouts, but for strength training, they're a joke. I let my kids play with those. :p Get at least 5-lb weights to start; get heavier ones if you want to build some noticeable muscle tone. Resistance bands are great too. Inexpensive and easy to store.
