I agree with LloydGK... A person's weight fluctuates from day to day from many different factors. Water weight, muscle tone, bowel movements, etc. I weigh once a week, on a hard surface like my bathroom floor, and log it once a week. It gives me something to look forward to and not obsess over.

What adding in a protein shake? You can buy them RTD, or buy a shaker container. Most of them you can mix with water or even milk. If you're dead set on mixing protein powder with v-8 you might want to try vanilla or an unflavored version. I would not recommend chocolate though. It just doesn't sound very good.
