I'm 48 and have only really started exercising properly the past few weeks although I have had Jillian's DVDs for years. I agree - of course we can do it - it may take a while to get used to but we will get there in the end.

Your humour is amazing - I was laughing having read your post. We definitely need to laugh to get through this. I have just done Day 3 of Ripped in 30. I definitely can't hold a plank for 30 seconds or do 100 push ups so well done you. For some reason I find Ripped in 30 easier (I know that's not the right word as it's far…

@daneejela thank you so much for your wise words. I think I will do likewise and stick to working on individual poses and actually feeling how my muscles are working with each pose. I haven't been doing that just focusing on get the pose. It's time I got back in touch with my body and this will be a great way to do it.…

Day 3/100 - decided to do Jillian Michaels' 30 minute Yoga Meltdown DVD this morning. What was I thinking?! I just about managed the first 10 mins (and that was with me stopping in places). I couldn't go any further. Think I need to work up to this one. Struggled with the plank push-ups, side planks and camel pose. I like…

Thanks - have taken note and will do all those things. I love lemons so will do that with the tomatoes. I usually make a salad dressing consisting of limes, garlic, black pepper and olive oil. I don't really like watermelon so will give that a miss but will definitely add in bananas. I usually use olive oil but as my meals…

@RuNaRoUnDaFiEld - thank you so much for that bit of info, a great idea. I will get some almond butter when I go grocery shopping tomorrow as well as some seeds. I suffer with high cholesterol so I have to be careful with the amount of fat I consume but I am aware that I am currently not having enough with what I have…

Day 2 of 30 - My second day of eating raw and I am enjoying it. I am hoping I can go quite a few days before I feel the need for some cooked vegan food. Would be wonderful if I was able to do the whole month but I don't want to put that pressure on myself as I am more likely to fail if I tell myself no cooked food. At the…

@mkql12 I'm definitely with you on this challenge and will be here supporting you. I am going to aim for as many days as possible raw (who knows I may make it for the whole month of September) but if not the other days will be vegan - I am happy with that. How did you do on your first day especially as you were travelling…

Today will be my Day 2 of yoga poses (newbie here). I just worked on a few beginners poses yesterday but thinking about doing a yoga DVD today or one of the videos posted on this thread. Not sure which is the best for me to do - only certain poses or a DVD? Going to read through all the posts as I am sure that will help me…

Hi (enters thread sheepishly), I saw this thread and thought hmmm, am I up for this challenge, am I ready for this challenge can I give this challenge 100%? If I am honest, I don't have the answers but I am going to give it a go. I don't want to sound defeatist but I may just try a raw vegan diet for as many days as I can…

Fantastic - thanks! :)

Hi all, I have just seen this thread. I have only done yoga a handful of times and enjoyed it. Can I join in on 1 Septmeber even though you will all be on day 32 by then?

Hi, I'm a newbie to this challenge and would love to give it a go. I usually weigh myself once a week so doing it daily will be a massive change for me. Will be interesting to see how I take to it. I have been reading the posts for round 14 and was patiently waiting for round 15 so I can participate. You are all so…

Thanks for the tip. I will take note if I ever get to level 2. I am going to do Ripped in 30 first. I seem to have a scary mental block with 30 Day Shred. It was the first Jillian Michaels DVD I bought and it's the one I am most scared of. Doesn't help that I am so unfit! I believe one day I will be able to work through it…

a My goal is to lose a bit of weight but mostly to tone up and get fitter.

@missevil - I feel your pain. That makes two of us! I am determined to see if through this time round. This is a perfect challenge to keep us all motivated to finish. @caz98 thanks for starting it!
-
I never got passed the first level! Shame on me!!

@caz98 - Bali, very nice. I can totally understand why you want to start today. I will be starting on 1 September if that's okay with everyone else. Two reasons really - firstly I have my nephew staying with me until Wednesday morning and then I am off for a spa break for two days so will be unable to do a DVD until I…

Would love to join. Thanks

Hi, I have both DVDs too and I also need to be accountable. I find 30 Day Shred much harder than Ripped in 30. For some reason 30 Day Shred made me cry several times. Mostly due to frustration that I struggled to get through the warm up :( . I am up for doing Ripped in 30. Am I taking the "easier" option? Definitely!!! I…

I am way off track but going to do my utmost to catch up this week. It's going to be difficult but I am up for the challenge. Well done all for being so committed. You sure do keep me motivated. Thanks all.

Day 11 - squats and crunches done.

Day 9 Squats and crunches done and I welcome the rest today with thanks. Although I have struggled to do these and have done them in stages it's been so worth it. Lost 5lbs since started - I can't believe it! Thanks everyone for keeping me motivated. Normally I would have given up by now! Thank you!

Thanks for the encouragement MiamiSeoul. I will hang in there. I keep telling myself it has to get easier at some point
