You're right. I have to get out of that mentality. Still used to BB.com The thing for me is that I've eaten clean for a huge part of my life and "organic" and GMO has never crossed my mind. However, I do feel a certain way when a headline states that I'm delusional for eating "clean".
-
I'm sorry for thinking this was a "fitness" app.
-
I can definitely see why someone from BB would get the boot here. You really have to be open minded on terms of everyone's goals. BB community has only one goal.
-
I wouldn't consider that "clean" eating in terms of fitness lingo. Maybe "healthy" "organic" or "natural". Next time I do a "clean" bulk I'll just avoid GMO extra hard.
-
I didn't know there were two meanings to "eating clean". This whole time all I had to do before a competition is to avoid GMO and eat organic??? I always though "eating clean" meant eating a well balanced diet that included fruits, veggies, lean proteins, legumes and whole grains. I'm not familiar with your version of…

Thank you kind Sir. Good luck with your goals
-
I should have considered that.
-
Yes and no. It's me but from two years ago. I don't think I'm as lean anymore so I decided to track my calories using this app. I competed back in my 20's, now I'm just a cop with a poor diet.

Stop right there! 15-20% protein is way too low. Flip flop your fat and protein, lower the carbs a bit and watch the weight fall off. I'm set at 40 carb 40 protein 20 fat and it works great.

Often times I forget that not everyone here is trying to be toned or built or shredded...whatever. So yes, in that case CICA is the most important if you want to drop weight. I came over from bodybuilding.com forums and if you ever said that "macros aren't important" or "eat whatever you want" you would be bashed till the…

Good point, I like your take on it.
-
Glad you enjoyed it. I see posts in which people constantly ask about macros and don't understand the importance of them. Too many times I see comments like "eat whatever you want, just stay in deficit" and it's such horrible advice.
-
I'm sorry but I literally cringe when I read stuff like this.
-
1g per lb is hardly relying. 120-200 grams of protein equates to between 480-800 calories coming from protein. No wonder so many people have a "soft" look, no one eats enough protein.

Yea...11pm to 7am. Usually 3-4 cups of coffee per night.

If you start gaining weight it's time to either cut more calories or do more cardio.
-
I must use this anology again, if you were a cannibal...would you rather eat a drug addicted homeless guy or a healthy young athlete. I don't "fear" any food, but I do get why people choose some foods over others. For starters, taste.
-
What about your results? Have you done well with maintaining muscle? I can eat 1200 cals a day and will probably lose over 20lbs in less than a month at my weight but it won't be all fat for sure.
-
Calorie deficit is just half the battle. If you don't pay attention to macros you'll get horrible food cravings and won't sustain your diet. Don't listen to people telling you it's ALL about the calories. If weight loss was that easy, everyone would be in shape. You want your weight loss to come in the form of fat, not…

Your macros become the most important thing when struggling with cravings. Up the protein.

I know we haven't gotten along in the past @FunkyTobias but that's priceless!!

Creatine*. Lol damn iPhone

Yes, fish oil and creative. I hardly ever eat fish and creative had been proven time and time again in improving performance.
-
Some cultures and you're not getting 600 grams of carbs eating yams and greens. Fish and meat were the staple of most ancient cultures.
-
There are studies which show how bad sugar is for you. This is why I'm a believer in a balanced diet.
-
I personally think that sugar (carb) is much worse for you than fat. I've also read that ketoses isn't bad for you and it's how we as humans have survived thousands of years before the industrial revolution.
-
I've always been successful with a diet in that range. Keeping carbs low and protein high preserves your muscle during weight loss and gives a more toned look. For weight loss, calories in vs calories out is most important but for fat loss with minimal muscle loss, your macros of 30/40/30 look great!

Rice, beans, eggs, bananas, ground beef, chicken.
