Whatever your target weight...increase your protein grams to that amount. If you want to be 220lbs, consume 220 grams of protein daily
-
You obviously have to work out. This is under the presumption that the person already does.

Please refer to the article I posted and stop trying to argue with me. I'm only trying to help people and steer them away from misinformation.

@trigden1991 is 100% wrong and I do not suggest following this advice. If weight loss was that simple, everyone would be in shape. You will lose "weight" in a calorie deficit but not necessarily "fat". In order to maximize fat loss and preserve muscle you have to lift heavy weights, do cardio and eat a balanced diet that's…

Eat your protein, your body will thank you

Omg I officially dislike this app and the poor advice that people on here give. There is more to weight loss than just the number on the scale. Body composition is only determined by the foods you eat. You can lose weight by a calorie deficit but you will not be toned, shredded etc. You will be skinny fat if you eat crap…

Studies show that more than 80% of people do not consume enough protein. Carbs and fats can keep you full but protein keeps you fuller. Only amino acids found in protein have been shown to spare muscle mass in a calorie deficit. Protein is the magic macro. Sorry to disagree with you but your information is inaccurate.
-
Calories for weight loss and macros for body composition. One lowers the number on the scale and the other makes you look good in the mirror
-
Drink protein. Any advice other than that is bad advice. Protein keeps you full and spares muscle during calorie deficit. Do you care about the number on the scale or how you look in the mirror? If you want lean body composition you need a high intake of protein.

I can't, I always get stuck somewhere half way through ;)

A lot. As a cop I work them ever couple of months. I see guys passing out within the first 10 miles. None of them look above 150lbs
-
Correction. These are it, the low carb ones. 81 calories, 6 grams of fiber, 5 grams of protein and no sugar
-
These are by far the best wraps out right now. They're also one of the cheapest. Very soft so it's easy to wrap everything up, taste great and have one of the best macro profiles I've seen.
-
Yes you did. I stand corrected. Just saw that, not sure why I missed it
-
What a bunch of nonsense. I'd think a guy that goes by "anabolic Kyle" would have a better understanding of the importantce of protein. Protein is a "macro" young fella. Calories in vs calories out is great in theory but it's an over simplification for people just trying to lose weight (not even good weight that's mostly…

Everyone's definition of healthy is different. An adult man that is 6 feet tall and weighs 140 lbs is not healthy "looking" in my opinion. Now compare marathon runners to track and field athletes, you'll see a body composition difference in referring to.
-
I don't do cardio and I'm pretty happy with how I look. Cardio is really better for your health in my opinion.
-
You do need carbs...no question. Protein goes a long way in body composition though so I'm all for it.
-
Well I'm yet to see a marathon runner that looks healthy and not underweight.

+1

30% protein isn't high for anyone. On a 1500 calorie diet it's not even 500 calories from protein. Don't get caught up in a diet that's too high in carbs, even if you lose weight you'll still look soft. You should always up your protein when on a diet. First, it spares muscle during weight loss and second, it keeps you…

http://comfortpit.com/the-truth-about-calories/ 40% carbs 30% protein 30% fat is a solid start

Protein bars are great on the go...and only then.

Eating before bed is a horrible idea. Although theoretically you can eat whenever, there is a lot of poor advice here on MFP and I'm honestly thinking about just going back to BB.com where the advice is more sound. If you eat before bed, you are less likely to sleep well. Not sleeping well releases stress hormones which…
-
It's always the calories. Your metabolism might be slower than MFP suggests and you probably have to cut some more. Cardio only accounts for 300-500 calories tops for an average person. You'd have to do hours and hours of cardio just to lose a single pound of fat. Focus on your diet more.

I agree with him for the most part. Pretty much anything we eat is in some way artificial. I'd like to get his opinion on proper ratios of carbs, protein and fats when attempting to slim down with minimal muscle loss

:D This post isn't about eating "clean". This post is about importance of protein and nutritional balance to achieve your results. I don't care if you cook up your protein in a meth lab, as long as you're consuming enough protein. I can tell you didn't read the original article I posted and just wanted to throw in your Dr.…

After reading through several pages I came to a conclusion that 1. You guys will never agree on this and this post will go on forever 2. It's starting to have nothing to do with helpful fitness and weigh loss advice and it's becoming a piss contest on who knows more about science. I'm sure there are other apps that allow…

Haha true.

Haha are we about to have a pizza party and sound the alarm for a sleeveless shirt?
