Thanks :-) I couldn't see the MFP sync anywhere but I usually code everything through mapmyfitness anyway.

I have an UP3... I have a love/hate relationship with it, but I use it everyday :-P Feel free to add me: stellabest99

I have an UP3 that I love... my main issue with it is that it doesn't have a screen so if I want to see where I am up to I have to grab my phone and check the app. Wish I had gotten the Fitbit Charge instead. Now I'm just saving up for the Gear 2 watch to go with my Samsung... it seems to do everything I want but I will…

I usually aim to eat back half, as I can't always use my food scale and any bought food can be hard to measure. That's the advice I was given by various people on this site when I first joined and asked the same question

I'm doing my best to follow in your footsteps Rose. You continue to be such a wonderful inspiration to me

That's awesome... I started running over Easter.. mostly by accident! I swear I just went out for my usual evening walk to get the last 3k of my 12k steps for the day and the next thing I knew I was running lampposts (you know, the old scout's pace, run one, walk one). My thighs are sore from running 3 days in a row but I…

Auckland, New Zealand, land of Hobbits :p

Kayla, I think I just managed to send you an invite on UP as well... and if anyone wants to add me as a teammate on UP, I'm happy to make new friends :-)
-
Hi Jane, I think I just successfully sent you an UP invite... let me know if it doesn't come through :-)
-
Hi There's. What's your UP username? I'd love to add u as a team mate
-
Hi Therese, I'd love to add you as a teammate on Up and MFP. Feel free to friend me :-) Quick question for you: Does the UP2 have food issues like the app for UP3 does? It doesn't seem to know what to do with some of the food I log in MFP so it ignores it, throwing my averages out. Its very frustrating. I have decided that…

Hi Kel, you could do some gentle yoga to get you going at home before braving the outdoors for a walk... even half an hour makes a difference :-) Oh, and I'm 42 and joining in, in case no one noticed... heehee. I'm the noisy hobbit in the corner. I accept all friend requests :-)

15000 steps so far today, including 8 flights of stairs and will be doing some yoga before bed... Just coz I can! :)

Hey Treasure, I'm a fellow Kiwi in much the same boat... MFP is a great place to be. I have managed to lose over 6kg already. Friend me and I'll help support you through this :-)
-
I agree. To be honest, I'm not overly worried about it. I was just curious as to what people had to say/think. We have such a wonderful range of folks using MFP, you never know what responses people will come up with. Humans come in an amazing range of "flavours" so there is no "one size fits all". Genetics seems to play a…

Why do you convert metric to imperial units?
I do it all the time too. I'm on an American site, so i try and use American numbers to make it easier for the majority of the members here.
Exactly! For the convenience of those who don't use metric, I post in imperial as well :)

Aww, can we be friends? You are definitely good for my ego! LOL. As long as I hide my "wisdom hair" (i.e. colour it to hide the grey), most people seem to think I'm in my 30s... here's hoping I look like I'm in my 20s when I'm done... heehee.. no wait, 30s is fine. Don't wanna be a cougar ;-)
-
No, actually it was just an off-hand comment. My colleague is being very supportive of me going through this, but it just made me think...
-
I'm trying to lose around 30kgs (um, ~66lbs I think is about the conversion rate). Currently at 84.4kg (186-ish). According to the BMI thing I should be around 60-64kg (133-141lbs) since I'm 160cm (5'3")
-
Wow, just WOW! I'm a smidge under 5'3" and working to lose 30kgs-ish (around 66lbs)... so far I've lost 6.4kgs (14lbs), but definitely on my way (currently 84.4kg/186lbs). As of right now, I have to say you are totally my inspriation that I can do this!!!! Thanks for sharing and inspiring me :-)

on bad days I weigh myself on tippytoes... not entirely sure why this makes me lighter, but it sure makes me feel better!!!

Oh boy... don't try shopping for bras in New Zealand then... most bras START at around $60 :-( I usually wait til my next trip to the USA and then go bra shopping! SOOOOOO many more choices, especially for us larger gals. NZ seems to think if we are busty (I love that word!) then we don't need pretty bras. Plain and boring…

Hang in there Marty.. it gets easier :-)
-
LOL.. but you do know it's actually Tuesday?
-
I do the same, same reasons... It's just too discouraging to see the scales telling me "lies" to log it!
-
Actually if anyone wants a friend and positive support, feel free to friend me
-
Hi Jess, I'm a fellow Kiwi. Feel free to add me :-)
-
I'm in... aiming to lose the 60-70lbs that snuck on when I wasn't looking! I'm 42, and it seems to take longer than it did 20 years ago to get rid of those pesky pounds!
-
160cm (5'3")... start weight 90.8kg (200lb)... so far only lost 4.6kg (10lb) but since I've only being doing this for a month, that's ok! Goal weight of around 63kg (138lb), so I'm on my way :-P

Thx Cyber, good to know it isn't just me!
