I make my egg whites in the microwave at work like scrambled eggs. Add some spices, pepper and/or salsa! Yum!

Agree with the above. Stay away from cocktails or beer and just to vodka/soda. Between every alchohic drink, just have a glass of water. Or order a few just dosa with lime. Looks like a drink, still tastes fun, keeps you within calorie range and not hungover!!!

If it's fun, I don't see why you shouldn't continue! At my gym classes, there are for sure ladies twice my age. Sometimes they use modified moves. Sometimes they out rep me or use a heavier weight and I die a little inside because i am competitive LOL

Hmmm. In no expert but from what I've read through comments on here, the general consensus is "no machines"! You mentioned about them having a smaller bar. Maybe just start with that at least until you max out the amount it can take. Are heavier Dumbbells an option?

If you are entertaining, you can ask the bartender for just soda water with lemon and lime, skip the vodka. People would probably just assume you were having a "real" drink. Well...It would depend I guess. Would the jump rope be your only workout or used as cardio supplement to strength training? And, are you a decent skipper or still getting coordinated with it? I guess start with 15-20 min and work your way up? Unless it's used as a supplement, in which case 20min is probably fine

I enjoy jumping rope. It's fun to see your progress in how many skips per minute or how many skips until you trip up. If you haven't skipped in a while, don't be discouraged if you are tripping a lot at first--it takes a while to get the hang of it. I would agree with the above. When I do intervals on the tread I wokeep my "active" part at 40s or maybe 60 s then rest (litterally jump onto the side part) for the rest part (20 or 30 sec) It can be killer, but it's also awesome. I'm pretty drenched with sweat and like dead after.

If you've lost only 8 pounds in 9 months, i am wondering if you are accurately logging your calories, since you said you stick to your calorie goal. Do you measure and/or weigh? Are you eating back all your exercise calories? Those number might be very inflated.
