But what if a man happens to want a nice butt? Does he have to buy the women's issue instead? :) (And why is belly fat always "blasted" and calories "torched"? Do editors just like the sound of these phrases or something?)

I cringe every time I reach the checkout these days! If it's not "Lose 45lbs in 30 days!!!" or "Drop three dress sizes for summer!!" it's "<random celebrity> in shocking affair!!" or " on deathbed!!". Some of that weight loss stuff that gets pushed, though... it's no wonder people are as confused as heck and stuffed full…

Maybe try to save some of your calorie allowance for a nighttime snack? Or, if you happen to be one of those people who doesn't need breakfast, you can delay eating until lunchtime and have more calories to play with later in the day. Try a few different things to see what works best for you personally. Also, here's the…

It depends on the individual. Certainly there are people for whom seeing the scale go up after a heavy meal or too much sodium would be a challenge to their mental health, and those people perhaps should consider weighing less often. I personally like to weigh daily because it lets me see that my weight can and does…

No pressure, huh...? ;)

Ahh... I have to admit, I've never played any of the FF games. Have fun! :)

This, absolutely.

Yep, this month has gone SO fast it's scary. Congrats on your milestone, that's great work! :) Have fun cowgirling it up, and also monster-slaying... :) (Which game will you be playing?)

It does help me to plan - I usually try to figure out at least the dinners for the coming week, because I have an issue with wheat and can't have it all the time so I need to plan which days I'll eat it! I just felt kinda down the past week or so and didn't have the enthusiasm to plan, and now I'm paying for it. :) I'll…

UserID: SueSueDio Weigh in: Weds wk 4 PW: 158.5 CW: 161 Urgh. I don't believe in "bad foods", but too many carbs and sodium-laden foods definitely help me to hold onto water weight! (I was 158 on Saturday.) I need to give a bit more thought to my menu rather than just throwing something together at the last minute like…

Maybe they said they eat AT a bar for breakfast... B)

Thank you... it's the second time I've been unemployed in less than four years, and the first time it took me two years (almost exactly) to find another job. I'm terrified that it's going to take a long time again, and we can't cope financially if it does this time. (We barely made it through the last round thanks to my…

When I finally started wearing zipped/buttoned jeans again instead of elasticated ones, I suddenly realised that I needed to allow extra time to get to the washroom due to having to deal with belt buckles, zips and buttons...! ;)

Congrats on finding some great buys! I do think we need photos of you in said dress, though... ;) (Only if you're comfortable with sharing, but I love seeing other people's outfits!)

Are the cauliflower ones gluten free? Not sure if any of my local stores stock those.

Don't forget the *shudder* tentacle onna stick...

We eat a lot of processed, canned and pre-packed foods in my family - it's cheap and easy. If money and time (and yes, spoons!) were no object, I'd love to grow some veggies, maybe keep chickens for fresh eggs, and buy as much of our food as possible fresh from local markets etc. Sadly I'm unemployed and poor, and even…

1. Food scale 2. Food scale 3. Weigh everything on your food scale... ;) 4. Make small changes you can live with long-term 5. Set realistic and reasonable goals 6. Be kind to yourself 7. Patience, patience, patience! 8. Did I mention a food scale?

That's what I always used to believe about myself... until I started on MFP and began weighing and logging everything I ate. It was eye-opening, I can tell you! And somewhat embarrassing. Since then, I've learned that there are no "wrong foods" - unless it's something that makes you ill - there are only wrong (for me)…

Meep!! ;)

So sorry to hear that, and thankful that he's getting the care he needs. Best wishes to both of you - and as others have said, be sure to take care of your own health and well-being too!

@jugar Am I correct in thinking that I don't need to post on the registration page again for July, we'll all just be "carried over" if we participated this month? (I don't want to accidentally miss registering if I'm supposed to do that. :) )

I can understand your trepidation and mental anguish, but please believe me when I say you did NOT gain 5.9lbs of fat! You haven't just undone a whole load of work, it'll be okay. It's mostly water weight from the increased food and all the extra exercise you've added in. Perhaps try slowly increasing your calories to…

The only way you're going to know for sure how many calories you're eating, is to use a food scale. If you find at some point that you're not losing weight and you're convinced you should be, I'd definitely encourage you to start using one to double check your numbers. Incorrect logging really is the source of so many…

I hope your husband starts feeling better soon! It's surprising what they seem to do these days - a lady I know from another group just had brain surgery on Monday to remove a benign tumour, and she came home today. Brain surgery, for goodness sake! And she's at home!!! I was astonished, but I guess such procedures are…

You are a grown adult. Start acting like one. We all have to do things we don't like/want to do - we do them anyway. Your obstinacy is going to cause you serious health problems in the long term, if you really are as restricted by allergies as you say. Don't you want to be around to see your children grow up?

You might want to ask your doctor for a referral to a dietitian, to help you figure out what you can and can't eat. But I'd agree with the others about not restricting yourself unnecessarily - if you already have many foods that you can't eat, don't limit yourself even more by labelling food as "bad" or "junk". Figure out…

UserID: SueSueDio Weigh in: Weds wk 3 PW: 158.5 CW: 158.5 Better than going up again, I guess! ;) And I have to admit that I'm struggling to stick with it at the moment. I'm looking on this month more as a "getting back into the swing of things" experience rather than expecting to lose very much, if anything. If I can drop…
