OP, don't give up. It can often take a while to see results, and for all the reasons others have mentioned you may have some water retention masking any fat loss. It early days yet. Please do read the threads that Novus linked, and have patience. This doesn't have to be torture, but it's not always easy. ("Simple", but not…

And therefore most likely PRE menopausal - i.e. before menopause. And thus will have hormonal fluctuations also affecting her weight along with everything else that Ann and others have mentioned.

I get your point. But where do those desires come from in the first place? It just seems like stereotypes of what a man and woman should want and/or look like are just being perpetuated throughout the ages, sometimes.

Indeed. Nothing precluding a young woman from being both pretty AND exploring her future as a potential astronaut (or whatever else she wants to be). Or a young man from being pretty if that's his preference. :)

You can do this - age makes no difference! Read some of these threads, they're full of helpful advice. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10300331/most-helpful-posts-getting-started-must-reads#latest…

It's still before midnight here... ;) I don't recall what my last weight was, but this morning I was 161lbs. I think that's about the same? Soooo hard to get back into the groove.

Nice work so far! :) I've seen this mentioned a few times on this site, you might find it interesting as you continue your quest for single-digit BF%: https://www.precisionnutrition.com/cost-of-getting-lean-infographic

I think the word you're actually looking for in regard to that person is "notorious". And you do realise that bread, potatoes, pies etc. were eaten long before the industrial revolution?

1500 is the minimum daily calorie amount recommended for men, to ensure adequate nutrition. And that's probably for an average-height male, not a tall guy like yourself! You're still under-eating. Protein is in a lot more things than just meat. There is this thread, but I'm not sure how easy it is to use the information.…

I would find that I got a bit fatigued mentally after 8-10 weeks, and my logging would get sloppy. Taking a regular break and eating at maintenance (not eating as much as I wanted, which is what some people seem to think "a break" means, but still tracking my calories) was great for me both physically and mentally. It was…

Do it! I always used to arrange mine around birthdays and holidays so I could enjoy some extra food! :) https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10604863/of-refeeds-and-diet-breaks/p1

If you're feeling adventurous, try a peanut butter sandwich with some chopped raw onion in it. I thought my husband was insane when he first tried to get me to eat that, and I resisted for ages. But it works surprisingly well!

I was thinking of you when I posted that - you must have tuned in! :)

Your pancakes sound like British pancakes - more like crepes, very thin and usually rolled up? That's how my mum made them, and we always had sugar and lemon juice on them. North American pancakes are much thicker, and fabulous with syrup. (Like drop scones or Scotch pancakes, if you've ever had those - not sure if they're…

That's the best and most important thing in your post. Everything else is unnecessary.

I'm in love with the fairy doors! I've never seen/heard of anything like that. :)

MFP has a bug where sometimes (often? always?!) messages don't go through to people who are not on your friends list. It looks as though it's gone, to the person who sent it, but the recipient never gets it.

Wishing you a safe surgery and speedy recovery!

And also, if we're going in for pictorial representations... :)

Oh, and peanut butter and bacon sandwiches. :) Or PB and bacon on a burger...
-
Maple bacon donuts. Just sayin'... :)

Try ice cream with warm Yorkshire pudding. It's delicious! (I know, it sounds odd, but just try it... as long as you don't put herbs in your batter, that is!)

I like you. :)

Bacon makes everything better. Everything.

You could make a paste out of it and spread it directly onto your muscles, then maybe the calories wouldn't count.

I'm sure many people have tried this so-called detox. Some of them even claim it works. Those people are misguided. It doesn't do what it's claimed to do, but ACV does have some other uses. (As mentioned above, some people find it helps with heartburn (others say it makes it worse), and it had plenty of uses in recipes and…

It's not April 1st yet, is it? :)
