I worked with a family physician who would take Echinacea at the onset of any type of cold symptoms. I figured he's been in practice longer than I've been alive, so he must believe in it! Lots of water and rest too!

Everything I learned in nursing school about nutrition.

I have PCOS, so my periods are pretty irregular but over the past year I started getting them every other month. I started low carb about mid January and this month was my "off" month. I ended up getting it this month and being about a week earlier than what my Kindara app predicted. Hopefully this will regulate my cycle…

Always open to low carb friends. Feel free to add me!

Diet soda for me is a trigger that makes me want to drink a six pack, lol. I usually stick to water but have a Sparkling Ice, usually once a day. It's fuzzy and super sweet and doesn't make me want to swim in Coke. With that being said, I think it's totally a personal choice. Some people don't consume artificial sweeteners…

I personally am not as hot. I was ALWAYS hot before (living in Florida does not help.) Since I've shed some of my personal insulation, I'm not overwhelmingly hot, especially when I'm exercising.

Walden Farms makes a calorie free, zero carb sauce that I LOVE! I use the "original" and haven't tried the other flavors though. I found it in my grocery store in the diabetic section of the pharmacy. http://waldenfarms.com/products/sauce_bbq.html

If it helps, you are not alone.

@landiodo I'll have to try that! Thanks!

I know it sounds super silly but the brand of water I drink makes a big difference to me. I can't drink tap water (where I am in Florida it tastes like straight chlorine no matter how much I filter it.) I found a brand of water I like (no doubt tap water from somewhere else, lol) and now I have at least 6-7 cups a day and…

Yes, if you count net carbs. It's 6g of carbs minus 5g of sugar alcohols.

Holy cow, this looks fantastic!!! I can't wait to try this!

I'm glad you posted this. I always feel self conscious going into a restaurant and getting food "without the bun" or otherwise customized. Good job!

I was diagnosed with PCOS about 15 years ago and tried all sorts of birth control and then finally Metformin. Nothing seemed to help and my weight bounced all over. Last month my doctor told me my A1C was 8.8, even on 1500mg of Metformin. Before that, my fasting sugars had always been fine. I'm hoping that cutting my carbs…

I completely understand where you're coming from! My 3 month follow up will be in the 1st week of April. My A1C was 8.8 (sugars around 200) and since I've cut carbs my 7 day blood sugar average is 81. I'm still afraid that my cholesterol is going to be through the roof with all the meat, butter, fat, etc. I'm trying really…

Personally, the gym is worth it in my opinion but I think it's all a personal choice. Of course being active is not necessarily a bad thing, but it's hard to fit into a busy life. Plus, gym fees can be expensive. I joined a gym through my health insurance and it's half the cost of a normal gym fee with the added benefit…

You should consult with your doctor prior to ANY weight loss programs/diets. Also, this information is more recent than a 12 year old article. Today's NSV for me was that my fasting blood sugar was under 100. Two weeks ago my A1C was 8.8 (average of about 200). Yay for Keto!

I was diagnosed over 15 years ago with PCOS and have struggled with weight gain. I've tried birth control pills which didn't help at all. Was put on Metformin which helped with starting to get my period again and have been on 1500 mg for about 3 years. My doctor just tested my A1C and it was 8.8 (yikes!), so I'm officially…
