You don't even need to go the gym to excercise, there's excercise apps and YouTube and online workouts you could do.

I have the same problem, my arms are really big, my waist has slimmed down. Due to strength training my arms slimmed down a tiny bit, but not enough. I don't know if I'll ever lose the fat on my arms.

My favourite is hiit like a girl workout and some of their cardio workouts, I haven't tried strength training yet.

Do bodyweight excercises like pushups, squats and planks. These are strength training excercises.

I lost weight by doing YouTube workouts, mainly Jessicasmith tv, pop sugar fitness and fitness blender excercises. I have gone from uk size 14 to 8 in one year.
