Sending you a friend request - I started with 112 lbs. to lose and have 88 to go. Your story is VERY familiar to me. What convinced me to try again was the this thought: it will likely take me at least a year to get the weight off, BUT I don't want to be sitting here a year from now, probably heavier, and thinking I wished…

Feel free to add me! Started at 257, currently 235, goal 145. 90 to go!

Congratulations for making the decision to get back into the swing of things. I'm sorry you had such a hard time with your health. Welcome back! I've lost and gained back the same lbs. a few times in my life so I do understand your struggle. I've currently lost 21 lbs. of 112 I need to lose. Never give up!

I've also been looking for this.

Meal planning is key! Also, maybe try involving the kids in some physical activity with you? Good for both of you and you get the benefits of the exercise!
-
Thanks everybody for the comments and ideas. I think I will try some of these as I'm really missing my pasta!

Absolutely amazing! My Mum used to say "Imagine carrying around a 10lb. bag of spuds all day". Now multiply that by how 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or..... as you've said, it is a real eye opener!

I always ran cold before menopause....now I'm warmer. One thing to consider though is that always being cold can sometimes be a sign of hypothyroidism. Have you had your thyroid checked? A simple blood test will confirm.

You are truly an inspiration! Way to go and congratulations....all your hard work has paid off! You look fabulous :)
-
Me too! Started at 112 to lose - down 14 lbs. 98 to go and counting......

Wonderful effort! You look fantastic!

Wow! You ROCK!

Just think of it as a speed bump on your road to your goal!

That is absolutely fantastic! You are an inspiration.

Red13 I'm curious as to what protein balls are? I'm also a night time snacker.

You are an inspiration!

I am having the same problem but have done a little better the last few days. What works for me is to eat smaller "meals/snacks" more often. I find that I don't feel quite so full, or bloated, and I can get my calorie count up a bit without eating unhealthy foods. My energy level feels better too - I think blood sugars are…

Burlington here! And a Timmies addict :)

Please add me - I have 102 to lose!

Congratulations to you for taking that first step! The emotional/mental work is just as hard, if not harder, than the physical and you HAVE this! You CAN do it. I have 100 lbs. to lose and what I tell myself is that the time is going to pass whether I try to get the weight off or not, and I don't want to be sitting here a…

Hi Suzanka - I'm new here too. I feel your pain - I feel like I've been busting my butt with very little results. Trying to be patient but it can be frustrating. Good for you for losing 32! That is fantastic :)

Just discovered www.modelmydiet.com Pretty eye opening! You type in your height, weight, body shape, and can even choose hair style/colour, skin tone, clothing etc. Then you type in your goal weight and it shows you what you will look like. Going to play to with different weights to see what I might look like at different…

Thank you rachmass1 - you are so right - one day at a time. I'm trying to use the mind set that the time is going to pass anyway and I don't want to be sitting here a year from now thinking I wished I would have started a year ago. That seems to help a bit. Good for you for doing all that exercise! That shows a lot of…

So - broke down and stepped on the scale (I knew I shouldn't have). Had a terrible shock when I was actually 35 lbs! more than I thought I was. After choking up, and asking hubby to step on scale to make sure it was "right", (yes dammit it was) I teared up, but instead of eating I got on the treadmill and did an extra half…

Right now I'm walking treadmill at 2.7mph for 55 minutes (because it works out to about 2.5 miles walked, and 300 calories, if the reading is correct. Also doing some butt and thigh exercises, and just started with some very light free weights (3lbs. - shoulder issues). Hoping that once I've dropped a little more weight…

I am DD and have a real problem with "movement" shall we call it? I really need a sports bra that unzips or clasps IN FRONT as I have limited movement in one shoulder due to a past episode of frozen shoulder, and I'm now getting it in the other shoulder :( so can't do the calisthenics required to get in and especially out…

Thank you all ladies - just knowing there are others struggling with the same issues is enormously helpful. I'm starting into my 5th week of MFP and logging ALL food and exercise - it is eye opening that's for sure. I walk the treadmill daily at between 2.7 and 3.0 mph and do 2.5 miles daily (I take Sundays off). Also…

Wow 50%! :( LOL. But you are right about keeping an eye on weight - your body always lets you know when you're doing something "wrong". I'm going to research fitbit - sounds interesting. Thank you!
