Thank you all for your comments. I will consider eating more once I stop freaking out at the idea of gaining anymore weight. I find my weight is very volatile. If I derail for a few days, then I will most certainly be back at the original weight. I will at least eat some of my exercise calories back, hopefully before the…

I was having a pathetic day today. Even made a post about it. The 2 things happened 1. went out for lunch with girls in my office. stuck to my pre-planned, pre-logged meal, inspite of pressure to eat those fantastic smelling flavoured chips. 2. raced a much lighter, much fitter co-worker on my way back and totally ruled…

Thank you for your kind words. I hope something changes soon.

I was bad in March. Went to the gym only upto 5-7 days. No Zumba either. Something or the other just kept cropping up. My minigoals for April are 1. go to the gym for at least 20 days 2. take all 8 Zumba classes I have already paid for 3. reach up to week 5 in C25K 4. cover 4km in 30 mins This is the plan right now. Hope I…

Annnddd.. I broke the barrier. Did not weigh entire last week. Checked today, and I was 83.5. Super happy.

Some sources mention that sometimes we mistake thirst for hunger and end up eating when what we need is water. So, in a way, it curbs overeating>reduced calorie intake>weight loss. Dont know the authenticity of the theory. But it kind of makes sense.

Dry roasted chickpeas/garbanzo beans. 1/2 cup has 134 calories. Its extremely filling, crunchy snack. If you drink warter after it, you will be set for 2-3 hours. I think there are a few recipes for spiced version also. I personally prefer the plain one. Popped soya nuts, mixed fruits, pop-corn, eggs are also good options.

I am a daily weigher too. It has become a part of my routine, so its a little difficult not doing it. I will give it a try. For a week to begin with.

For the first time ever have I over-achieved my protein goal today (I pre-log all my food first thing in the morning). I am replacing my added sugar calories with protein calories. I am amazed at how much more dense food I can eat when I am not drinking added sugar. Oh, and I have grown out of my first piece of clothing.…

I will gradually increase my protein while replacing carbs. Thanks for the positive remarks.

I think patience is all I need. I feel great as long as I dont look at the scale. Its so thrilling to wear the clothes I have had for a long time but did not wear because they were too tight. I think I will give the scale a break for some time. Thanks for the positive remarks.

I am going to visit my family in 10 days. My minigoal is not to undo all my progress in the 4 days I will be there and to actually see an 83 (kg) on the scale before going there.

I am wearing a size M dress (Indian size, UK 10 probably) which was a gift from my brother and in which I did not fit just last month. I have received so many compliments so far. I was about to throw the towel and give up this morning when I saw the scale had not budged this week (did not go to the gym, no fruit today, no…

Thanks for all your inputs people. I include a cup of cooked lentils every night and I am thinking of adding a couple of boiled egg whites to the breakfast. I am not trying to build muscle or anything, just that I don't want to lose what I have while I lose weight. I am strangely scared of soya products (i read somewhere…

the bean chilli lasagna sounds yum.. can you please share the recipe?

ok, i am interested in this. I really like the US Navy one. it was accurate when i cross checked it with the gym bioelectrical impedance scale. I am a regular gym goer and do strength training and cardio alternate days. started at 42% BF, now down to 38% in a month. I love this concept. I am in for this. my goal is to…

Oh I always thought elliptical burns more calories. You just gave me a topic to search about.

I think my form might be the problem. My husband has pointed it out on multiple occasions. I ll try to correct it. Thanks.

I ran today. Not too much like 10-15 miles of it more like 4 minutes of running. Why is it important or even an NSV? Always thought I cannot run. Probably last time I ran was when I participated in a race in kindergarten. For the first 30 seconds I was extremely conscious about how ridiculous it must be looking. Then I…

Achy pain. Vanished within 5 minutes of stopping. Thanks for the info.

Those were some big words there. I think you read what you wanted to and responded how you are programmed to without understanding the requirement of the situation. If I explicitly asked that I don't want any advice then why would you go on bombarding me with your science? And I would like to know what "preposterous myths"…
-
That's the whole point of asking. I want to know what other factors are at play. I came to know 2 from initial points before this thread got out of hand. 1. Insulin resistance 2. 2. PCOS 3. Boredom of the slow pace of weightloss by counting calories (may be)

Do you know how Indian food is cooked or for how many people I cook? Or how many portions i cook? Or how many times a day, week, month i cook? Don't be judgemental about things you don't know.
-
I think people should at least read the post and not start firing away on their assumptions. This went way off topic. Thank you for your insight.
-
Well. I want this thread closed. I didn't want this to get about my weightloss story and that's what it's becoming. Does anyone know how to get it closed by the mods?
-
Thanks for your insight but you got it wrong. Please read the original post. I have explicitly mentioned that I do not need any advice regarding food scales or counting or deficit. All i want is some data. Thanks anyway. I have realised that one cannot post anything on MFP without it becoming something regarding weighing…

I am Indian and our food habits are significantly different and way more flexible than what I have seen here (no I dont eat the famous "Indian curry" and "naanbread" everyday). I do count everything I eat. I cook it myself so I know the exact quantity and nutritional value of the food I make. I think this makes the point…

Well that's a matter of opinion. If I am doing something I like to get to the root of it and understand the process as thoroughly as possible. Plus, I don't think weightloss or health in general can be managed with a "one size fits all" attitude. Everybody and every body is different. So the processes are bound to be…

Drop calories below 1200? I don't think that's recommended or safe really.

I do strength training 3x a week and cardio 3x and I alternate between HIIT and LISS.
