  • Welcome cleenjones! I’m still where I was the day I started this group, 240. My body composition has improved a lot though, and my lifting is going very well, especially after starting creatine. Creatine is the first supplement besides protein powder I have ever taken, and it really makes a huge difference.
  • Yeah. The rush usually only lasts a few weeks thought! Still at 240 this week. I started using creatine this week, so I’m retaining a lot of water. Happy to be maintaining!
  • Hi Pinkfairy88! Welcome! I’m a big fan of realistic goals too. Holidays are hard, and honestly, I’ll be glad to maintain and get to the gym 4x a week. I’m not looking forward to the January rush at the gym but I’ll be there anyway!
  • This has nothing to do with anything, just an exciting tip for coffee drinkers; if you miss creamer in your coffee, I just discovered a great replacement. Costco carries a brand of ready to drink low carb low fat protein shake called Premier Protein. The vanilla or caramel flavors are incredibly delicious mixed about 50/50…
  • Weight today: 240, according to my scale at home, which is the one I like because it reads lower than my gym scale or my doctor’s scale :) SW: 340 PW: 240 GW for March 1: 205 Ultimate GW: 144
  • Hi emmajoye61691! Never too late to get some community and support! Welcome! My attitude is, even if none of us reach our March 1st goal, if we can maintain or even lose a bit through this time of year we are successful. I’m looking forward to a weigh-in tomorrow and even if I haven’t lost any weight, I’m pretty confident…
  • Keep up the good work everyone! Christmas is coming up fast. I'm planning on pizza on Christmas Eve. Anyone else going to plan a small indulgence?
  • Welcome jrdyer15! I didn’t weight in this week. However, my clothing says I'm shrinking! I've had a good week of diet adherence, weight lifting on track, still building up my cardio. Hopefully by this time next week I'll be ready to get on the stair master again.
  • Do you weigh and measure your food precisely? Even seemingly tiny descepancies add up fast. I have found the estimated calories on MFP are waaaay too optimistic. Try eating back 50% and see if that helps.
  • Hahaha how much do I suck, I haven’t been here in weeks! Very busy at work, and lots going on at home. But I’m back. Been going to the gym and eating healthy, except for turkey day. Hopefully the weight-in Wednesday will show some loss or stasis! So glad to see the group still hanging together.
  • Went to the gym for my personal training appointment, and my guy couldn’t make it. Worked out anyway! And it felt great. I missed all the leg machines. I have free weights at home and I live for deadlifts and squats, but I love doing a leg circuit on machines once in a while. I’m glad this little group is so participatory.…
  • Didn’t log today. Eating too much to lose. Hopefully, I will get my Mojo back when I start personal training on Tuesday, and going to the gym again daily.
  • Hi SicklyMixed - I’m also down. Ate too much, didn’t log for a couple days. I’m having a lot of trouble being consistent. Will log and exercise tomorrow.
  • Weighed in - no loss, but no gain, either, so a win!
  • Never heard of this - sounds interesting!
  • Docoryn that sounds like a great day. Everyone ready for Halloween? I will be weighing in at the end of the day, I’m thinking that will help me steer clear of the candy. I’m also going to allow myself plenty of calories for healthy food, maybe an extra 300, as long as I stick to my macros. Feeling full means not feeling…
  • Welcome! Hike and spa sound really nice. Details details!? Where is the hike? What lavish and relaxing spa services?
  • Welcome welcome! Never too late to join.
  • Every day!!!
  • Prelogging helps a lot. Saving the chocolate protein shake or fruit for an after dinner snack helps. Having a cut-off time for eating helps too - brush and floss your teeth at your cut-off time so eating would cause you to have to do it again before bed :)
  • This. Borrow or beg to get your kid cared for, and start hunting up another job. Don’t just tell us your plight, tell people around you, and your co-workers. Maybe a woman on another shift can trade you child care. Maybe an elderly neighbor would love the company of s child. Tell your boss you must have a different shift,…
  • Make sure you are getting enough protein and healthy fat, which are satiating. Take a hard look at those macros. Fill up on bulky, lower carb vegetables that you can eat without dressings. 1200 is pretty tough. You could try eating more calories on days you exercise, and fewer on rest days, like allow yourself 1400…
  • My petty reason to hit my goal weight is - I want to get a whole bunch of tattoos when I hit goal, maybe a whole body suit, and look really super sexy badass.
  • Awesome! Walking is wonderful. I’m glad you made it to the park! Gyokuro green tea is great for health, but is kinda bland. If you like cinnamon, the absolute best tea IMHO is Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice. It is amazing, no sweetener needed.
  • I too have had spinal fusion, L6 L7 L8, in 2014. Absolutely the best thing you can do is your PT exercises as prescribed, and walk as tolerated. Ask you doctor or PT, but it might be better to try and walk daily for 10 minutes and try to increase the time every week, than walk for 30 minutes only once per week. Best sugar…
  • Welcome all! Nice to meet you. Please friend me if I don’t send you a request. To join, just post your stats (or not, your choice!) and show up. Wednesday weigh-ins (again, up to you if you want to give us numbers) and encouragement anytime. Here’s a question - what will your reward be? Even if I don’t hit my March 1 goal…
  • Yes it will be good! My b-day is in Feb but I always like the first day in a month. And full moon days. Weird that way.
  • Thank you! I have lost quite a bit, but I had been down last year to 187. I gained so many pounds back, I think, because I stopped logging food, and gradually my old habits reasserted. My best realization from having lost 100 pounds, and gaining back so much of that loss, is that keeping my progress is going to require…
  • Oh, I’ve had people lay that one on me. I generally ignore passive aggressive and jealous comments, and just change the subject. But one person who I have to see daily kept it up, and I kind of lost it. I told her ‘You can’t be a pain in the *kitten* every day either...or can you?’
  • Berkhan deadlifts over 500 pounds, and he was able to reach that PR using IF to built muscle. I wonder what your vision of "optimal" is.
