I would like to break a long plateau caused by overeating every single weekend, and get under 13 st 7 pounds. Maybe I can do this by doing more walking and bike rides - I don't seem to be able to stick to a deficit at the weekends, in practice, whatever my good intentions.

Just passed 1000 km on the odometer of my indoor bike , all pedalled by me since the day I bought it!

You look great and so positive and happy now! I salute your commitment!

Time to set a new mini goal. Currently 87.8 kg so I want to get down to 83 and then get myself a mystery present. The mystery present is a musical instrument... at the mo I can play it a bit but I want to get better so I Earn the new one. So instead of eating I'm going to practice playing whenever I'm tempted to…

I'm back from work trips and starting a log for May. My goal is a bike ride of any length for every day I am at home. There will be more work travel this month so I only have a fortnight or so. Today's was 17 km on the trainer. Best wishes to all with your own goals!

When travelling I keep a stash of calorie counted snacks , and I take a lunchbox, so I shop and self cater in preference to restaurants. I find this makes me feel in control and self sufficient. It also saves money to spend on things I like, even little things like guitar magazines and novels. Increasingly, if I want to…

I'm also working on this. I find the main trigger for my bingeing is a day when I am so busy I don't get a moment to myself to read, do a bike ride, dream, draw, or do something ...pleasant. Cue, a sort of resentful mood, nervous and desperate, and hey presto the fridge is waiting. The only answer seems to be to timetable…

Booked a cycling holiday in July and I want to be fitter and have less weight to pull up the scary hills in the Welsh borders!

Seek and find the best saddle for you. In my experience they vary amazingly. Even two visually similar can feel worlds different. Beware too soft , they squish down and hurt you with their hard substructures. Beware too narrow, ischium bones of pelvises are what you sit on and they have a lot of variation between even…

At work laboratory has colour coded lab coats. Red is small, blue medium, yellow large, green xxl. Last time I was in there some months ago the green did not button round me. So today I tried the yellow and it was much too big. I fit comfortably in the blue. So amazing. I don't feel any smaller but I am now pretty average…

Went for my bike ride and my midway snack was healthy fruit not so called "healthy " protein flapjack. Sat in a cafe watching a young mum feeding sugary junk to her daughter and pondered the meaning of food.

Thank you for the encouraging words, fellow bike riders! I am enjoying getting out in the countryside and getting slowly better at this...

Feel free to add me as a supportive friend. I too have struggled with my weight all my life even since childhood while my partners have had no such problem, in fact eating what my now partner eats got me up to my heaviest ever. I'm losing weight but still I suspect he does not know how hard I have to work to get the weight…

I think that's a really good idea - your struggle certainly chimes with mine - I keep ditching my progress lately at weekends, so I need also to stick to my goals moe consistlently. Let me know how you get on! I'll be trying for the same, 10 days in a row on track.
