Yes on it making a big difference. A better goal is to live healthy and strong, not just 'light'.

Is there a particular issue the doctor is advising about?

@pastortim33 Proper weight and height are related. How tall are you?

When I was losing my 100 lb the first time, I did it by eating all manner of foods. I needed to stay in a calorie deficit, and I did. I considered it important that I get all the protein my life and activity needed. That's the way it works. Weigh it. Log it. Be accurate and honest.

Atkins Endulge has a product that tastes very like Snickers, and has tiny net carbs. They are hideously expensive though,so maybe just work on keeping your chocolate in very small portions, like single pieces of small things.

Hi. Hooray for your exercise. Hooray for your food scale. Did you weigh and log your M&M's? Did you weigh and log your Bloody Mary? Hooray for that if you did. It is simple. Be honest with yourself. Weigh and log your food. Stop when your calorie budget is exhausted. Then be patient. This is the rest of your life.

@SeanD2407 Last year as I got within 5 lb of my arbitrary weight goal, I decided to increase my calories slightly and lose weight slowly. That seemed like a sensible plan, but by the time I came to my senses I'd gained 50 lb. Goal is not a number. Goal is a life. When you lose sight of the fact that you are living to live…

The meat of it is the rationality she displays.

Everything about health, fitness, and diet is more than any one of us have mastered. Start learning. Continue learning. The more you learn, the more you know you don't know.

I assert that my 2 coffee with fat and no more than 2 gram carbs in the morning do not break my fast by provoking an insulin response. Therefore my noontime meal of a Caesar salad and a bowl of Julian Bakery granola with kefir was my breakfast.

When an adult homo sapien wishes to shave hair from that person's body, it is accepted by all others. Of course if that person is shaving their eyebrows, it just looks weird.

Most people have gained, lost, gained, lost n times. Few of us, and I almost include myself in this group, have figured out how to stop that sinusoidal cycle.

The point of fasting is to experience autophagy. Autophagy stops when the fast is broken. 5 g carbs breaks the fast. My morning coffee with 10g of MCT powder has 1 g carb. My second morning coffee with 15 ml heavy cream has an additional 1 g carb. I conclude that my 2 cups of fatty coffee do not break my fast. The only way…

Keep a jar of pink salt handy. Increase your salt intake. As your bodily glycogen stores, you will release a lot of water. The process of excreting water strips ions from your body and flushes them down the drain. Your increased intake of salt replaces the needed ions in your body. Is tuna truly the only fish you eat?…

My spouse is not on board either. I shop for my and her groceries, so I buy and bring home her treats. I get it. It's hard. Work on you. Weigh your food. Log your food. Count your calories. Learn to take care of yourself. The fact to remember is that you don't have any physiological sympathetic hormonal action going on…

Stick with your plan. Don't complain about your plan. Share your NSV's. The magic of losing weight happens in your head, and that goes for wanting to lose weight as well.

An AYCE offer is under your own control. Are you disciplined enough to lean bulk with minimal fat gains? If so, you're capable of controlling yourself around a buffet.

Measure, count, log, and stop. If we're lucky. Try doing some lightly engaging activity to get your mind off the subject of eating.

The taste of water varies from place to place. Your municipal water tastes different from your bottled water. What water are you talking about? Filtered? Tap? Bottled?

2 cups of keto coffee, then 3 cups of black.

Always care about you. Always pay attention to you. When you replace clothes, it's almost always going to be you that changes rather than the clothes sizing. If you find yourself buying larger clothes, wake up and pay better attention to you and your care of you.

Another thing that may be happening with you is that your gut biome, which adjusts to your changing diet by changing the population of various bacteria within it, may be influencing your brain to temporarily resist the change. As soon as those little bugs die off, your new biome will feel better. Yes, I know. Woo me.

Women need 25 g daily. Men need 30 g daily. All need about 50/50 ratio of soluble/insoluble in your fiber intake.

Oatmeal is cheap, easy, flexible, useful in many recipes. When happy with carbs, I found oatmeal to have value as a carrier for cinnamon and sucralose.

I learned that I really do like the way I look in small clothes. Some day I'll be back in them.

I'm not even close to my goal, yet I also am freaked out in my own way at gaining each to the past two days while maintaining a large calorie deficit. It's never going to be a straight line on a chart, so just trust the numbers and be patient.
-
What is your target deficit? If, for instance, you have a target deficit of 250 calories for a goal of 0.5 lb weight loss per week, your "probably 300" calories may be nothing more than maintenance, a day with no change. Don't stress about it.

I did something today which you might find useful. I was adding shredded cheese to a recipe. With the scale set to oz, I added until the scale said 6.0 oz. Then I switch units to see how many grams I had for logging. I didn't care that I wasn't going to have 168 grams. I was close enough and logged accurately.
