Wow. Congratulations - you have transformed yourself and look amazing!

Me. I have to fight the feeling. I've always been prone to "all or nothing" thinking, and when I emerge from a period of "nothing" (no workouts, no calorie goals or restriction or both), I went to go full-throttle "ALL" to make up for it. I know it isn't healthy - it has shades of my old binge / deprive cycle. But yes, I…

Checked the fibre as singingflutelady suggested. 12g for CC and 14g for Quest - so likely not material. Culprit is probably the extra bar!

Using a stationary bike isn't the same thing as spinning in the spin studio sense of the word. Spinning, in an actual spin class / with your own playlist and using a spin studio approach, involves a range of tempos and resistance levels. A good 45-50 minute session will incorporate seated races, standing & seated sprint…

What's your protein intake like?

I find maintenance to be a real struggle. I had a similar experience. Hit my vanity GW in April and basically, struggled until October / November to try and "maintain". I jumped up 5 lbs right away and they would not budge. I think I'm getting the hang of it... but my "maintenance" pretty much requires me to set MFP for a…

Looking at my macros and foods, yogurt and protein bars float to the top of the list in terms of most recurring food types. So I guess I am mainly deriving calories from those foods, if that is the real question? I eat a variety of things of course.

Hi ladies. 5'11. Hit GW of 145 in April and it's taken months for me to find a maintenance rhythm. I was all over the map and stuck at 149 for weeks. Currently 146-147 (well, pre Xmas) and aiming to find 145 again. Net calorie goal is 1250 a day. I do a lot of spin and weights 2 or 3x week, so I'm averaging 2000 calories a…

I started Christmas Eve with a double spin class and held off with a protein bar and yogurt until 5 pm. Then, dinner. I stopped counting calories when I hit 3500. I didn't bother logging yesterday's dinner and will do another obscene calories add to complete the day. Zero exercise - not even a walk. Back to normal today.…

I love chocolate chip Quest bars. Never tried the illustrious "old" formula.
-
Wow, that is very, very lean. Are you a runner?
-
So amazing - you look incredible and you must feel incredible!
-
^ Yes, good point - didn't mean to hijack either. I am not sure I dare, however, so we'll leave it at that!

Daily spin, spin doubles and 2 to 3 weights sessions. And all of the food!!

I hear you on "TDEE". Despite adjusting fitbit and MFP settings (eg I am shorter and older on the apps than IRL) to mitigate overestimation and inaccuracies, my "on paper" (on screen?) TDEE makes me gain. On a related note... and at the risk of getting flamed: is EM2WL actually science-based / legit? I keep reading threads…

Thanks. I've bene tracking only on a Fitbit Charge 2. It tells me avg HR is 145-150, and that I burn ~425 for 48 minutes of work. 5'11 F, 148 pounds. Does that seem right? Have been spinning a ton. 8+ classes a week. Seriously addicted!

Spin + weights. December is my daily month. No rest days. Some lighter active recovery days, but no "off" days. Logging too, of course.

I hate fluctuating. Hate it. Some people think 3-5 is maintaining, but if you lost 20 pounds total (like me), that's up to 25% creep. It doesn't make me happy. I've determined that I permanently have to be in "lose 1/2 pound" mode and track in order to maintain. I'm not good with budgets intuitively.

If I do, it's protein - like a protein bar.
-
I get intense HUNGER occasionally, and then I add a protein bar or a protein bar + plain greek yogurt snack. I stick to protein to satiate in these cases, avoiding adding carbs to my regular macros.
-
I am in EXACTLY the same boat - 0.6 lbs (as of this morning) over my 5 lb maintenance buffer zone. I know what you mean. For me it goes beyond returning psychologically to a cut (which I can't seem to do right now either, though I think it's tied to the volume of exercise I'm doing right now - I need to cut that back…

5'11 Original GW - 145 (hit that in April) CW: 149 (fluctuated and/or mini-bulked up over the summer... it isn't water retention) - however, I've definitely gained some lean muscle, and things are fitting very well. A little differently, too - months of focus on glutes and my "posterior chain" have finally paid off. New GW…

Really amazing work - congratulations, you look fantastic!

I love the elliptical (I have RA) and owned a gym-quality precor for years. I do HIIT on the same model at my gym and keep my arms free - I don't like the models with swinging arm things (fitbit defaults to categorizing it as running). For example, level 10, starting with a 5 minute warm up at resistance 6 @ about a speed…

Not the biggest for me, but the most recent is using the ml button on my food scale to weigh ice cream.

Amazing! What does your current weekly training look like? Like you, I've discovered running and feel hooked. I have three young kids and work full time, so it's a bit tricky to figure out some days. But I am inspired!
-
Make it my biggest workout days of the week. And plan the day around whatever's happening F or S evening.

I was using "child" and "free" in a compound term sense to connote free of children / presently without child, in an analogy about weight. For the record, childless is also a very loaded term in my experience. I'm going to avoid both going forward! ETA: and also analogies on an Internet community board.
-
I had considered doing an Edit to add the starting premise - which I thought was obvious - ie that we were talking generally about a person who wanted a particular outcome, but is DEEPLY conflicted on the impact that outcome would have on current lifestyle. In my analogy, that outcome was a child. Of course, not everybody…

OP is projecting feelings on OP's own future self. It's like a parent talking to a child-free younger version of themselves in their early 20s. Younger single version says, "I could never have kids / having kids is so upsetting because I really love my partying lifestyle and I hate having to wake up at a certain time and…
