  • That's awesome, Steven! I can't wait to get to onederland. I left it back in middle school!
  • I took it for a couple of years. Increased appetite and weight gain are major side effects of mirtazapine. I wish I had known before I ever took it. I ended up gaining 85 pounds while on it and it took a long time to taper down to get off the medicine (after a year of asking before they even let me start the taper). When I…
  • 1. I love wearing fun/holiday socks all year. 2. I work with middle schoolers by choice. I must be crazy! 3. I attended a trampoline fitness class recently that was even more fun than I expected. Even falling down was fun because I just rolled instead of slamming into the hard ground.
  • I had my band taken out in March 2016 and a revision to RNY in July 2016. I would say the pain, for me, was a little more with the bypass than with having the band put in. However, that could also me not remembering 2007 as clearly as 2016. I also developed fibromyalgia in 2009 that can lead to having more pain after…
  • I love to sing and dance in my car! My mom recently saw me when we were both at a stoplight, going in opposite directions. I didn't see her, but she's been teasing me about it since. I used to stop at lights or when I got close to work, but now I just keep going because it makes me happy.
  • I was excited to pull out my old holiday shirts/sweaters that had gotten too small in the past few years. We are doing a theme each day this week at work (a middle school) and I am able to participate without buying anything new! Yay!
  • I took Diclofenac & Tramadol for fibromyalgia for years (also have arthritis in some spots) and had to stop the diclofenac prior to my surgery. Luckily, the weight loss has eased the burden on my body and most days the tramadol alone is enough. I am allowed to take Tylenol if I have pain not covered by the tramadol.
  • 1. I survived the pre-op diet with lots of soup and protein drinks. Lost 10 pounds during those two weeks. 2. Had my RNY on Monday. Super rough first few days, released from hospital Wednesday evening, doing much better at home (staying with my parents for a bit). 3. I have gotten at 64 ounces of fluids in and at least 60…
  • I'm having my RNY on Monday (7/11). I've been wondering about getting a microwave egg cooker for when I'm on solids again, so I'll have to keep an eye out for this one. So far, being pre-op and in the middle of my 2 week liquid diet, I really love my Blender Bottles for mixing protein shakes. If I'm making a breakfast…
  • I finally have goals I want to post! 1. Make it through my 2 week pre-op liquid diet without going bonkers (started yesterday) 2. Have gastric bypass surgery on July 11 (Woo Hoo!) 3. Follow my post-op rules so I can avoid self-caused complications
  • I love hearing NSVs! I have 2 recent ones to share. First, I am currently driving my grandmother's car since mine broke down. The last time I tried to drive it (about 12-18 months ago), I didn't really fit and I was so wedged in that I was concerned for safety due to the steering wheel not turning easily. When her vehicle…
