DeborahDoyle - I recently purchased some meal prep containers from Amazon, made by HomeNative Limited. I LOVE them! I'm a substitute teacher and work days are my most challenging as far as eating healthy, but these are perfect. They can go in the freezer and the microwave and the food stays separated in the three areas. I…

Anne - I'm here for you. It's ok to take really tiny, tiny steps and even no steps forward some days. Let yourself feel bad and don't put a time limit on that. If we try to "push" past pain it often just makes it last longer. You have the right to feel bad. Be gentle with yourself and reward yourself for whatever you feel…

Carol, I loved reading your post and lagopus, your Amazing Grace story is, well, amazing!

Today turned out to be a cheat day. :s My ex brought my daughter and I Mexican food to eat during the Oscars and I did not resist eating it. I also had my first Pepsi in a week. On a positive note, I did get back on the treadmill today. Tomorrow is a new day and I will stick with the program.

Yay! I'm so happy to hear this! Kristan

This morning I ventured back onto the treadmill for the first time in a couple of weeks, thanks to the vertigo. It felt great! I'm so excited to get back to my full exercise routine!

Good for you taking care of yourself! Give yourself a pat on the back for that and take a moment to savor the feeling. Kristan

Happy Birthday, Miriam!!! Your yard is fantastic! Living is the desert as I do, I have severe bloom envy.
-
Pip - your yard and fence look lovely!

Today I took my dog, Diego, to the dog park to meet a friend and her dog. The two did fine together, getting to know each other while we picnicked. Diego is a rescue Chihuahua and once we walked to the area with a lot of other dogs he became frightened and just wanted me to carry him (I didn't.) I think it was just too…

I make my own too, but I have to use a blender. I can't stand it when the protein powder isn't fully incorporated and I can't seem to accomplish that with a spoon. I also like to add flax seed, half a frozen banana, and/or almond butter, which is even more difficult without a blender. ;) What kind of pp do you like? I love…

I agree, Exermom. My go-to breakfast on work days is a protein shake.

drkatiebug - I was over by about 150 calories. I'm short, so it adds ups. (The teacher I subbed for today had a sticker that reads "I'm short and I intend to stay that way." I loved it!) Kimses - Congratulations on the new job! I understand your concern/stress over figuring out when to exercise. I go through that on the…

I've been doing pretty well at staying at or below my calorie goal, but today I went over. I worked as a substitute teacher, so I had extra calories in my breakfast protein shake in order to get me through the first part of the day. My prepped lunch was on target, but when I got home I was ravenous and gave in to the…

Hi, Cathy from Canada. You are making positive steps - yay you!!!

Kim - sounds good! ;) Barbie- :) I agree that forgiveness is freeing. Heather - I may need that recipe! o:) Miriamwithcats - I will look for the book as well. My son was a toe walker for years and I've long suspected.

Thank you. <3 Kim - Your garage dining room is fantastic! I am actually in a good place now. I let myself feel all the crud I needed to feel, saw a therapist, confided in my long time NMD, and had amazing friends to lean on. Last summer I took two longish, solo road trips and spent some time in Yosemite for the first time.…

Thank you! I feel much better that mine is not the only one to poof! I know it was there. My name. This is a bit of a story. My (now ex) husband and I both changed our name when we got married. Rather than me take his or both of us hyphenating, we chose a completely new last name that we shared from the day of our wedding…

So, I have been feeling rather invisible on this board. (Not entirely, I have had a few responses.) I posted a response to Margaret's description of her Dalai Lama experience earlier today and it happened to be the first response after her post. Just now, when I got into the thread, I noticed that it is no longer there. I…

Welcome, Secretchef! Thank you for the Miss Peregrine's info, Becca!
-
Becca - I loved the first Miss Peregrine's book! I recommended it to my daughter and it is now making its way around her school. I have not read the others - are they as good as the first one? I was excited to see that a movie is in the works and hope it is also good. Kristan

Wishing you luck and fun and relaxation! Kristan

I think I'm in love with your dog! Margaret - I second the glad wishes for you seeing the Dalai Lama. He is such an inspiration!

Pat - that looks amazing. I'm not wild about zucchini, and shredding it seems like it would make it more palatable. I'm trying bok choy tonight for the first time as part of my clean eating challenge. Should be interesting...

Day two of the clean eating challenge went well...except for the pepsi I drank. Oh well, I used to have one daily and now it's one or two a week. I'm happy with improving.

Thank you for the adding friends lessons. You all are terrific! I started a five day clean eating challenge today. So far, so good. It brought me in under my calorie goal and I've felt satisfied most of the day. I tried to do a companion cardio workout today, but only managed about half. The parts that required lying down…

How do you "friend" someone on here? Feeling like the newbie I am...
-
I have been tempted to host a student and likely will...but I need some time with the nest empty before I fill it back up again. As I said, I am quite travel-deprived as my ex always had an excuse not to go anywhere. I took the kids all over the U.S. on my own (well a lot of it anyway) but I NEED to travel abroad.
