  • That's bull and you know it. You were totally being snarky.
  • Unless you are diagnosed with hereditary hypercholesterolemia you needn't worry about cholesterol in your food. That is outdated science.
  • Meat and dairy are my sources of protein.
  • Oh, it's definitely funny in hindsight. Especially while we sat next to each other and she put away the nachos and the ice cream and I ate nothing because I was fasting. I've lost 50+lbs, let's just say, she hasn't :)
  • I'm sorry, do you mean Ibuprofen? If so, the answer is no. More than likely it is water weight. Your yoga session probably taxed your muscles and they are holding on to water while they heal.
  • Basically? It's junk. It's used to make things like coffee and tea "light and sweet". The ingredients are not something that I choose to incorporate in to my diet.
  • Are you willing to drop the Atkins bars? They are really just junk food disguised as "keto friendly". I think that you can get a lot more bang for your buck with those 200+ calories. Also, if you are at all insulin sensitive, the artificially sweetened items you consume may be affecting you negatively as well. You could…
  • Welcome. I'd recommend reading your way through some of the posts on here. Lot's of great information. As for advice? You do you. You are going to have naysayers and folks who think that they know better than you. They don't. The most important thing is what is right for you. You don't need to ever defend yourself or your…
  • Yup. My husband has a friend whose wife has no filter. Example 1 - she saw H's sister at an event after not seeing her for a few years and said "looks like you gained some weight, but you carry it well" Example 2 - she was telling me about how hard it is just to walk because she is carrying extra weight, looked me up and…
  • I generally assume that they are talking about stuff like this:
  • I'm not totally sure what you mean by "clean eating" as different folks take that to mean different things. For myself, it means shopping the perimeter of the grocery store, so basically dairy, eggs, meat, and fruits/veggies. The only things I really use from the middle aisles are coffee and condiments. I work full time…
  • Fat is essential. If you aren't getting enough fats you won't be able to absorb the fat soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K. If you are hitting your other macros and not fats, I assume that that means that you aren't hitting your calorie goals either, is that a correct assumption? Getting extra fat is pretty simple. You should…
  • Sure, it's possible. My husband just 21lbs in 3 weeks. Of course, he's 6'3" and started at over 300lbs. That doesn't mean that it is advisable. You seem fixated on a quick fix. There is no quick fix. Just eat in a calorie deficit and the weight will come off. Whether it takes 6 weeks 6 months or 6 years, the end result…
  • I just had some bacon with my lunch. Now that I think about it, I had some with dinner last night too. I've lost over 50lbs with bacon as a part of my diet. I love bacon.
  • Thanks for responding. The reason that I ask is because things like Palm Oil can be hidden in more foods than you think and can be very difficult to navigate. With them all being a true allergy, would it be possible for you to cook at home more? Unfortunately, there are very few restaurants that are willing to guarantee…
  • Foods containing gluten - I'm intolerant. I also limit refined and complex carbohydrates as I eat a Keto Diet. Otherwise, I'll pretty much eat anything, I love food.
  • Feel free to look at my diary. The truth is though, that you may be trying to maintain too large of a deficit. Are there specific foods that you tend to binge on? Can you keep them out of the house?
  • That seems very restrictive. Are they all genuine allergies where you have an allergic reaction to the protein? Perhaps look in to an AIP (auto-immune Paleo) diet? There are several resources out there that might be a good jumping off point for you. Maybe also look in to a Vegetarian Diet, not necessarily to eat that way,…
  • I use heavy cream. Usually 1-2T per 20oz of coffee.
  • I do OMAD during the week. I usually walk on my lunch break (18-19hrs fasted) and then 2-3 days per week I go to the gym after work (23-24hrs fasted). It's just how my schedule works out. On the weekends my IF schedule is much looser so sometimes I workout fasted, sometimes not.
  • Fast weight loss is generally not sustainable. The recommendation is to not exceed a 1,000 calorie deficit which is the equivalent of a 2lb per week weight loss. And this is assuming that you have 50+lbs to lose, if you have less than that, you may want to consider a smaller deficit. Weight loss is not a race.
  • Just vegan diet and exercise. The simple way to health for me FTFY Please don't assume that this is right for anyone else, it is your preference.
  • Pre-Keto I use to eat Peanut Butter and Butter sandwiches, they were my FAVORITE! I'd bet this PB/Butter mix tastes devine. I might actually try it myself and I have no intentions of going on an extended hike LOL
  • I’m an office worker. I’m following a Keto Diet. i also practice IF so don’t actually eat during the day at all. And I have 90lbs to lose.
  • I'm glad that I wasn't the only one confused by this. OP can you please clarify? Have you actually started Keto? Because as someone who does Keto, I can tell you, that meal would not be Keto. Even just a small Lemonade is probably around 25g of carbs which is more than a lot of Keto folks eat in an entire day. If you truly…
  • I have not, but will likely need to once I lose the weight. When I got to goal weight (after losing 106lbs) 8 years ago, I definitely had my apron still, but sadly, I didn't maintain and ended up gaining back all of the weight and then some. I'm now older and have been obese longer, so I don't anticipate that my apron will…
  • n=1 and all that, but I don't have a gallbladder and IF/OMAD has been the best for my post-surgical GI issues. I'm not one of the lucky ones to have no complications post-gallbladder removal and so giving my system an opportunity to rest longer between meals has been literally life changing for me. Also, I follow a Keto…
  • I don't have a link to a study or anything, but I concur. I'm a data geek and track my deficit and it is right on target within a few hundred calories of my weighloss.
  • It is entirely up to you. The great thing about IF is that you can fit it in to just about any schedule. Some people like to have lunch be their last meal of the day, that way the hardest part of their fast is while they are sleeping. I've never been a morning eater, so I don't eat until after 1pm most days. Play around…
