  • When I first had my gallbladder out I supplemented with Ox Bile and that helped a lot. It's been close to 10 years now and my body seems to have adjusted because I no longer have to supplement.
  • If you are using the app on your phone, just turn the screen sideways when you are looking at your food diary and it will not only show you the nutrition breakdown by food, but also by meal.
  • I use oatmilk and a sugar free sweetener like Jordan's. My coffee in the morning is around 40 calories.
  • What is your reason for wanting to keep your carbs down? What are you goals, meaning how many calories per day, how many grams of Fat/Carb/Protein? What is your overall goal? Weight loss? Maintenance? Building Muscle Mass?
  • What do you consider low cal? I am for around 500 calories per meal and try to get at least 35-40g of protein per meal. It's hard to make recommendations without knowing your nutrition goals.
  • I like to put Collagen Protein in my coffee in the morning to jump start my day with 20g of protein. My goal is 135g per day, so this is a big help. I do eat red meat, but only a couple times a week, max. I eat a lot of fish, chicken, pork, dairy like cottage cheese and greek yogurt. You could also do things like adding…
  • How did your doctor measure your BFP? Because unless it was a DEXA scan, I have a very hard time believing that at 5'4" and 128lbs that your BFP was 34%. A healthy weight for a woman your height is between 110-144 lbs and you are smack in the middle of that range. That said, unless you are very small framed, I'm not sure…
  • Mine is open. I'm not perfect about logging everything, but you can get a general idea.
  • I like Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides. It is flavorless so I add it to my morning coffee and it provides 18g of protein.
  • 2 chili dogs (no buns) with chopped onion
  • I finally tracked down some Lactose Free Keto-Friendly Ice Cream, and I've got to say, it was kind of underwhelming. I don't think that it is something that I'll buy again. Now I need to find some low carb potato chips LOL Also, this week is a perfect example of why weight loss trends are more important than the actual…
  • I count my veggies, but I very rarely measure or weigh them. I just eyeball for the most part. Since they are generally low carb veggies that I eat, even if I'm off in my estimate, it's not like I'll be off hundreds of calories or anything so I just take the risk and I'm losing weight just fine. If I do eat something…
  • What is your calorie goal? How did you determine that amount? Why are you eating under? And how far under? Are you tracking your calories burned during exercise? How? Do you use something like a Garmin or a SmartWatch or are you using an online calculator? There are so many things to factor in here. And as for your actual…
  • Thankfully I have dropped the water weight I put back on from only half-assing Keto for the month of September. It was a much needed break, so I'm okay with it. I'm back on track now. @Aquamarine317 check out Dr Will Cole, he has a book about Vegetarian Keto so you might get some ideas from that, I think it's called…
  • Are you asking a question?
  • For me, I figured out that it's the bubbles and the sweetness of the soda that I really like so I started drinking flavored carbonated waters instead. Artificial sweeteners are my weakness so I do try to limit them but it definitely gives me my fix when I'm craving the soda.
  • I haven't been posting a ton, but I would love to see more life on this board! I've been doing Keto since April and lost 50lbs. The last month I haven't been strict and put back on 3lbs, but I'm quite sure it is just water weight. My H has started back on Keto this week with me which is both a blessing and a curse. The…
  • I'm glad that you are going in to your appointment tomorrow with your eyes wide open. Unfortunately, most doctors know squat about nutrition. I went to school to be a Nutritional Therapist and you couldn't pay me to take nutrition advice from my PCP. Several years ago I was diagnosed with Metabolic Syndrome which included…
  • I just wanted to chime in that I also use Vital Proteins. I get mine at Costco and the savings alone on that pay for the membership fee. I get the 24oz can which is usually around $30-$32 in store which is already a great price, but occasionally it goes on sale for $20-$22 and that is when I stock up.
  • I make my husband breakfast burritos. I make them in bulk in the beginning of the week, and then all he has to do is grab one or two out of the fridge and heat them up for about a minute in the microwave. Each burrito consists of: one low carb wrap, two scrambled eggs, 2 pieces of bacon (or ham if that's your thing), and…
  • I coat the salmon in evoo to get the seasoning to stick, then cook in a pan with more oil. Then the sweet potato fries and green beans are cooked in oil as well. I only count half of how much oil I actually use assuming that it all isn't absorbed. I use 1T to coat the fish, 2T in the pan and cook the beans in the same pan,…
  • I tend to save most of my calories for dinner because I am generally not very hungry during the day. This is last nights dinner and is approximately 850 calories. 6oz Sokeye Salmon, blackened and cooked in evoo. Side of sautéed green beans and some sweet potato fries. I technically follow a Keto diet, and I made these…
  • I am currently doing W30, I started at the beginning of September. I already ate/eat a pretty healthy diet and have been gluten free since April as this is a known intolerance for me. Cutting out gluten resolved many of my skin and GI issues, but I still had some lingering stuff going on. I suspected that dairy was the…
  • I loathe paper plates. I feel like if I'm taking the time to make a meal at home, then the least that I can do is use a proper plate and cutlery. My husband on the other hand would use a paperplate for every meal if I let him. So, we compromise and I keep them in the house, but they are never, ever used for dinner, but…
  • I personally cannot eat any "low carb" bread product that contains wheat, it will kick me right out of Ketosis, plus I'm Gluten Intolerant so it also comes with a host of other issues for me. Plus, wheat isn't technically Keto-friendly if you are following a strict keto diet that also includes eliminating inflammatory…
  • You are only on what? Your second week? That initial 8lb loss may have been some fat, but is likely mostly water. A true stall would be no movement on the scale for several weeks, closer to a month. OP I will be honest, that is a very unrealistic weight loss goal. The average person with 40 or so pounds to lose is only…
  • I know that you know this, so I don't want to harp on it too much, but you NEED to be consuming a minimum of 1200 calories per day in order to get all of the nutrients that you body needs, and even then, unless you are eating a perfect diet it is still hard. When you do see a doctor, I would recommend requesting a full…
  • I used a FitBit Aria for years but it is starting to die on me. I recently purchased a FitTrack Scale and it's fine as well. I've only weighed myself a few times, so I'm still getting use to all of the different items that it tracks.
  • I personally think that multi-vitamins are a racket and the only supplements that I take are things that a blood test has shown that I am deficient in. So right now, I take Vit D, Iodine, Magnesium, and Zinc, all at my doctors discretion.
  • Honestly, what you did is considered "disordered" and is actually very concerning. You are in essence punishing yourself for eating food and is not healthy, especially long term. You need to work on your relationship with food so that "going off plan" isn't the end of the world. You should be able to enjoy your food, and…
