My wife has thyroid issues and made it impossinke to lose weight. If the other suggestions don't help, ask your doctor to do some labs.

I'll have strawberries and raspberries, sometimes with Cool Whip.

I lost 40 lbs with most of it in trace ketosis. I usually bounce out over the weekend and then slip by in during the week sometime.

Try Joseph's Flax Lavash bread. I'll heat it for about 10 minutes at 350 and it turns into a decent cracker. Should work nicely with cheese and it's pretty low carb.

When I'm fasting I've been sticking to cardio, either a rebounder, treadmill or elliptical. I'm working my way up to strength training while fasting, but it's summer here in Texas and the heat tends to kick your tail so haven't made that happen yet.

I don't know if there is such an animal. But, when I'm out, I try to make sure I have some Joseph's Flax Lavash Bread with me. I cut a piece into quarters and that fits in my computer bag or sling pack as need be. Then if I want/need fast food, I ask for it without the bun and wrap the sandwich in the lavash bread.…

I will where I can. I try to leverage some of the extra calories by not eating them all. Some days it's not possible.

You could be reaching a point where your metabolism is dropping to meet your caloric intake. Strangely, you could try Intermittent Fasting to change that. Check out Leangains if you're interested. I was at a plateau for about 6 months until I tried IF. I've dropped 13+ in the past couple of months. Hormonal activity that…

I experienced that while on Metformin after dropping a bit of weight and that caused me to go off of it completely to avoid the problem. What did help a little while I was on the med was to suck on a Werther's caramel during the workout or try a roll of Smartees before you start the workout. I'd go through 2 or 3 caramel's…

The 10+ lbs I've lost since I started IF after being stuck at a plateau for 6 months.

12 hours is about when your body starts the fasting state, from everything I've read. How I started going to 16 hours and then 24 hours was to sip an Atkins shake over the course of a few hours to help my body adjust. Sometimes I'll have a bowl of soup that's about 26 calories. I've played around with how I've done my…

When I weighed more, I traditionally had elevated liver enzymes and after losing about 40 lbs they began to fall into the normal range, where they have mostly stayed. I was doing LCHF while maintaining trace ketosis. Having had a fatty liver since I was a teenager, I would not blame LCHF for your liver enzymes.

This weekend was the first time I fasted for 16 hours. I had earmarked weekends as "off" days. Yesterday I ended up way over what I would normally eat but still dropped .8 lbs. Still haven't made it for a 36-48 hour fast, but I'm not complaining at this point.

My wife makes a mean Hot and Sour soup. I take 16 oz of that, add another 32 oz of chicken broth with more spices and a bowl is only 26 calories. That's helping me get to about 18-20 hours a day.

My wife just had a blood test to see if she had one or both of the gene mutations that make it difficult to absorb B12. Turns out she has both mutations. If you're still tired and your hormone levels look good, that may be a test worth running.

I am taking 850mg at night and 425mg in the am. On weight training days the 40-50 point drop is typical. I meet with my NP on Friday and we've talked about one dose of an extended release version. I'm thinking 1000mg that I can cut in half if needed. I'm doing intermittent fasting now so I make sure I get something to eat…

From my experience it depends on the exercise and your meds. I'm on Metformin which will try its best to prevent the liver from dumping glucose. When exercising, that can be bad. I've had 50 pt drops when doing some heavier exercising. I've backed off the Metformin a bit during the day to help avoid that and it seems to…

Ozeri. It converts to grams and lets you reset to 0 after adding a bowl or plate if you're going to pour into a container.

I'll have some fresh strawberries and raspberries with some Cool Whip. Trying to avoid fruit as much as I can.

I'm in a similar boat, but not necessarily due to exercising. I'm diabetic and I'll sip on an Atkins shake in the am if I start getting really hungry to avoid having my BG levels rise. It's not perfect, but once I lose more weight that problem should resolve and I can do more of a true IF.

Congratulations! That is indeed awesome.

I hear that. I keep learning new things all the time. These forums have helped a bit.

Being in ketosis burns fat for fuel. I've dropped about 45 lbs so far. I did a Dexascan last October which measured the visceral fat. I hope to do another scan this summer to see how much it's dropped.

123. Talked to my doctor about an XR Metformin to see if we can't bring that down a bit more. At 1000mg of Metformin I was starting to see sub 100's but we cut my dose down to 850 after that.

I started last week with 16:8 and moving to a 24 hour fast. Trying to maintain LCHF with the meal for that day. Taking Saturday and Sunday off. Yesterday I ate over 4000 calories because I was very bad and it showed up with a .6lb weight gain. Aside from that, I've dropped a good 6 lbs in the past week. I know a chunk of…

My liver enzymes had typically been elevated since I was a teenager due to a fatty liver. Last summer I started and stuck with a LCHF diet and my liver enzymes have been consistently in normal range aside from a week long cruise where a bit of alcohol was inbibed.

My wife turned me on to Yevo 43 Oatmeal. It has a bit of protein and I usually combine it with scrambled eggs so I'm not seeing big spikes in BG levels.

From what I've learned, your doctor is technically right. Metformin prevents your liver from dumping glucose as much as it would normally. However, if you're regularly getting too low it may be time to cut back on the amount of Metformin you're taking. I've had to reduce both my evening and morning doses. I go lighter…

Thanks. Before the 40 lb weight loss I was on 1000mg x 2 each day. Dropped to 850 x 2 when I started seeing < 100 BS in the am. The hypoglycemia had never been an issue until I started TRX. Sadly I never really understood how Metformin stopped the liver from dumping glucose, probably because my BS never seemed to go too…
