I am not a doctor, but I would 100% agree that your fasting blood sugar readings are way too high, and consistent with full-blown diabetes. You should get in to see someone ASAP. Bring clear documentation of the blood sugar readings you have taken, as well as some info from the internet such as from the ADA website. It's…

Hi folks, this team has moved back over to SparkPeople. Although we like MFP's food tracking tools, we like the chat on SP better. We would love for you to join us over there if you would like! Just search for the "Challenge Yourself" group under the Community section.

Ok guys, consensus definitely seems to be to move back to SP, so I think we should do it. See you over there! :*

Funny! Kelly, what is your vote? I guess at least when SP finally shuts down (or stops being free, or something), we at least know we can always come back to MFP!

I do really like the tracking tool a lot better. And the mobile app is WAY better. But the group thread has its drawbacks--I also miss having the newest post at the top, and not having to scroll so much. I am fine with whatever you guys want to do in terms of staying to chat here or going back to SP. For my bday, DH is…

I complained about the outdated emojis on SP, but now I miss them!! :'(

Kelly, what an awesome post! It is wonderful to hear you feeling so well. Amazing how healing nature can be. There have been all kinds of studies done recently on that, BTW. Emme, I like to travel, but I don't hold a candle to you!! What a schedule! Ryan, Thanks for the bday wishes, I am having such a nice day. And…

Hi everyone, I am taking off work today!! So I get a 4-day weekend. DS is coming home from college tomorrow too, so it is going to be great to see him. I'm also going to make myself a birthday cake! DD and DH are not happy about this, but the only cake I want to eat is one that I make. It's going to be a super-healthy one:…

Ryan, here is a link about turning on email notifications. https://myfitnesspal.desk.com/customer/en/portal/articles/13641-how-do-i-change-my-email-notification-prefer You will also need to "bookmark" this thread in MFP. It is a little star icon. If you do these two things, then it should work, let me know if it doesn't.

OK Emme, I made you a leader. Becky, I made you a leader too, just in case.

Hi Susan! I loved your quote! My DD just finished reading Man's Search for Meaning. I have always been too chicken to read it (I have a tough time with any emotional book or movie), but she said it was great, so I am going to give it a try. I think you are right--trying to take a few seconds to pause and think in between…

Ryan, I added you. So are you still going to be Ryan over here? ;) Karen and Leanne, good luck with the lifestyle changes that you are working toward! Don't beat up on yourselves--every day (even every hour) is an opportunity to make better choices. For me, it has really been a process of learning to accept and celebrate…

Hi everyone, several of us who are long-term member of a team on a different fitness site are moving over to MFP. I have been a member of the group for 10 years! During that time I have lost and I have gained, now working hard to lose. My favorite quote recently is, "Losing weight is hard. Being overweight is hard. Pick…

Ryan aka Slim, will you please join me as team leader? And Emme you too? I will mark you both as leaders unless you don't want to be!

@heybales Thanks for the great info! I will measure my stride length and adjust. I have really short legs, even for my short body, and so my stride could definitely be shorter than they estimate. @AnnPT77 I ordered a digital kitchen scale and plan to get really serious on weighing/measuring absolutely everything. Good luck…

@AnnPT77 and others, thanks so much for the great comments! I am short (5'3"), that's probably making it more difficult. I do have a Fitbit Surge (includes HR monitor) and that is what is estimating my exercise calories. But it is probably still over-estimating. I am going to stick with it and keep trying.

Hi all, this is my first post on MFP. I am 52, in the middle of the menopause process and finding it much harder to lose than in the past. It seems like I am hungry all the time. For instance, last week I was extremely good about tracking, and exercised like crazy, at least 10k steps per day plus spin or other classes…
