  • I knew celery was very low but the package says its only 5kcal per 100g. I though it would be a lot more somehow. Meat, as has been mentioned/ The biggest one was the meal deal I always used to get at lunchtime. One sandwich, a snack and a drink does not sound like much but the sandwich can be 400+, the snack is 171 and…
  • I bought a snack-bag of peanuts and it said "may contain peanuts." MAY? MAY? I hope it bloody well does contain peanuts otherwise what the hell have I just bought? MAY?!?! Sheeesh. This actually happens a lot. Not crazy really, more annoying, is grabbing a salad or something which looks really good and low cal but when you…
  • I saw on the forums even pre-packaged food should be weighed as the actual weight can vary from the labelled weight. This particular nitwit spent two weeks doing this before realising removing the packaging was probably a good idea. Two weeks. After having coffee. I am a smart university student, I promise......
  • Because I moved away from home. Seriously though, I cannot count calories around my dad even with an overweight BMI (160lbs at 5'2") as he thinks I will become dangously obsessed and counting "isn't healthy." Once living on my own, I was able to take control.

  • My dose of Pred was halved and I regained about half what I had lost. I have since re-lost all that weight. I put the regain down to VERY poor logging at the time, going a few weeks at a time with no logging at all and lost again when I tightened my logging right up. Loss is possible, just takes a little disipline.
  • I am 5'2" and weigh 141lbs though am quite pear-shaped so my pants size is a UK 8/10 (4/6 in US sizing) though is does vary between and even within brands. I have two pairs of jeans bought on the same day from the same shop. One pair is an 8 and the other is a 12, just one is skinny jeans and one is denim 3/4 length…
  • First off, Tesco is a supermarket, not a specialist center for this kind of thing so there is probably a reasonably large margin of error depending on how body fat percentage is mesured. How was it mesured?
  • I was up and down a bit, dropped a little to get my breath back then sped up again a few times sp its probably not as far. But I shall remember for next time to actually look at it
  • Ahhhhh I didn't take note of the distance! I shall next time! Is there a formula for other things like cycling or rowing?
  • The one you will be more likely to stick with is the best one for you. For me, its the rowing machines or treadmills. For my housemate it is the spin bikes or cross-trainers.
  • I jogged on a treadmill for 56 minutes and 4 seconds, burning 642 calories. I am 140lbs and 5 foot 2. I was only going a little faster than walking speed really (6km/h) so it just seems too high.
  • I know my burns are WAY off but I know if one day is 430 and another day is 650, day two was better. I get my number from a heart rate monitor rather then MFP but they just *feel* wrong. I'm 137lbs, 5 foot 2 and burned, according to it, 642cals in 56 minutes 44 seconds. Another day was 511 in 1 hour 3 minutes. I know the…
  • There is quite a bit of Jillian Micheals stuff on YouTube, someone ripped the DVDs and posted them. Or try her new app, it is £3.99 a month (which is I think around $5 or so) Lots of workouts that are 10-13 minutes long and a bunch of recipes too
  • The song Top of the World by Imagine Dragons tends to do the trick for me. I don't think much of the music video but the song itself works wonders. Just....yes

  • Stop taking all that medication, weight gain is a side effect! 1- I'll leave medication facts to the doctor thanks. 2- I was fat before I was given the stuff. 3- It is ANTI EPILEPSY medication. I am not stopping! 4- The other side effects include hyperactivity so doing loads at the gym is easier as I don't get tired so…
  • I'm down 20lbs so far and so far, no difference but because the rest of me is smaller, they look bigger. Which is kind of annoying really, I'm an awkward size!
  • My current shedual is to run twice a week on a treadmill and everyone Saturday
  • I am VI so need a sighted guide to run the 5k but can train on a treadmill. As such, I have to fit into their client schedules. It was either start on the 24th and go every Saturday or wait until the end of February 2017 when they are taking on new guides and have more slots open. I though sooner rather than later was the…
  • I prefer running outside because I don't need to pay the gym entrance fee or monthly membership. However, if I do run on a treadmill, I don't need a sighted guide as there isn't anything to crash into. It's a very specific reason so it will be different for everyone but for me it is 50/50. Pay vs hassle of organising a…
  • I am indeed, I'm based in North Yorkshire. I contact Citizens Advice, it didn't occur to me to do so, thanks!
  • I'd post a pic but can't work out how. The link above does answer my question though. The serving did include the milk! It was Nesquik.
  • The label says 151 per serving. Just below that it says one serving is powder PLUS milk. So the serving suggested already includes the milk. Edit. Actually, forget that. I just found this. So basically, yes. I was right. My poor dyslexic brain can adult! Huh. The numbers are one calorie different and the style of box is…
  • I was losing and logging before ever reading the forums. It really isn't that difficult.
  • I generally get the 500ml bottles of ready-made Ribena light, pour half the bottle into a mug and stick it in the microwave. Hot Ribena for 10cals. Options mint hot chocolate is also a good go-to, if you can get old of some, or something along those lines. My usuals are Options mint hot chocolate or microwaves ribena light.
  • My skin is roughly the same shade as my bedsheet so I tend to stay as covered up as possible without turning into a bee keeper. I may find a nice bikini but I sure as hell won't wear it in public for fear of third degree burns. Give me a wetsuit any day!
  • Twenty years old and stand at 152cm, if I stand up as tall as I can. Dropped a stone so far, another one to go!
  • When a friend asked you to open packaging and the first thing you do is look for the barcode so you can open it in such a way, the barcode can still be scanned with the app. Even though the friend in question has never even heard of MFP. And doing this every damn time someone asks me to open things. I have also cut the…
  • The photo is my upper left arm. Through gain and loss, it is the same as it has always been though I have decided to wait until I hit my goal before I add some friends. I guess it depends on how the area will change as you lose, and how bit it is.
  • I have one one those fruit infuser water bottles. This one, to be exact: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00VHGJFUC?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 It has a little mesh basket type thing and you put little fruit slices, or anything you want really, in the basket and use like a regular water bottle. It…
