  • Not sure HollyGirl's reasoning but I would say it's because the math doesn't add up
  • Weight loss is 85-90% calorie deficit and the rest is from exercise (at least that is my non professional opinion after losing 119 lbs since January of this year). You want to lose? Eat less. It's simple, but not easy. Know your BMR (google it) and know that if you want to lose a lb a week you need to be under your BMR by…
  • Last time I had weekend where I ate a ton and didn't log it took me about 10 days to undo the damage. This is a marathon not a sprint. You'll get over it and get better. Just reminisce about the fun times you had and don't kill yourself over it
  • I mean, to what degree is he picky? I think of myself as being really picky too but I've learned how to just pick off and not eat what I don't like when others have prepared a meal for me. If he's too lazy and complains when he has to make his own meal then what he really needs is to grow up and stop acting like a child…
  • My girlfriend encouraged me to try on some old XL tshirts that here hanging in the back of my closet, some that I hadn't worn in years because they were too small. Much to my great surprise they fit and looked fine. Score one for closet shopping again! Then for fun I threw on some of the 3XLs I'd been wearing when I…
  • I bought and kept some pints in the freezer for about two weeks. Found this thread and decided to go for the pint of chocolate last night. I gotta say I was impressed. I love ice cream, but my go to Hagen Daz Chocolate and Peanut butter is probably 1000 cals/pint, so this is a great substitute! After reading y'alls…
  • About a 115 lb difference in a little over a year between the two pics. Still looking to lose another 50+.
  • Interesting, my doctor keeps telling me how impressed he is that I've lost 115# since the end of January. I lost the first 100 lbs in 4 months, so yeah, it's perfectly reasonable for someone to lost that much that fast. My loss has slowed but I've been less diligent on my diet than before. As to the safety of it? I…
  • I'll echo what others have said as a way to lend my support. I've lost over 100 lbs since the calendar flipped to 2016. In my very unscientific estimation 90% of that is due to eating less, having a regimented daily calorie goal between 1200-1500/day and sticking to that daily (well, 95% of the time). The other 10% has to…
  • Sports Chalet and Sports Authority both went out of business and were closing their stores. The stores near me are now closed but perhaps they're doing it in waves and there are stores near you with steep discounts. I bought a bunch of under armor shirts at like 30-40% off during their Store Closing sales
  • Getting under 250 lbs which would be my lowest weight in about 8-10 years. Was 255 this morning. Hoping to hit this by the end of July
  • Got my 5k time under 30 minutes for the first time!
  • Awesome man! I started at 367 and am down to the 250s. Been lifting 3 days a week and running 3 days a week for the better part of the past six months. You remind me that there will be ups and downs on this journey, what matters is that I keep going and remember I won't achieve my goals over night, but over a long period…
  • You got this! If you find yourself really struggling there is no shame in repeating a day. I started C25K in maybe February or March with many doubts I could successfully get past the first few weeks. You know what? Not only did I get thru C25K, but I've also done C210K. Yesterday I ran 6 miles in under 60 minutes. Still…
  • Mini goal is to be as dedicated as I was Feb-May before June was lost to two weeks of vacation and a minor medical issue a needed to deal with and lose 15 lbs during the month. That will get me down to 245. Then, 2 lbs a week until the end of the year will get me to 205. I would go crazy!
  • The girl I've started dating told me that she finds me really attractive. A first for me. At this point when my mom tells me I'm handsome I find it patronizing. I know this girl likes me for who I am but it's also nice to know that she likes how I look as well; it's a real confidence booster and encouragement to keep this…
  • My next goal is to hit a sub 30 minute 5k. My last one I timed was 31:54 but I've lost a lot of weight already and still have a bit more to go. It might take a couple more months but I'll be able to get there eventually
  • I went to a baseball game with my brother yesterday. My first sporting event (think small, tight seating) since losing 100+ lbs. I jokingly turned and asked him when they put wider seats in? Felt great not feeling squeezed into the seat and was comfortable with him to my right and another fan on my left
  • 7 lbs. total is now over 106. Trust the process and believe in yourself and you'll be fine
  • Awesome! Your story reminds me so much of myself. I began here on MFP at 367. I'd had recent blood work and everything can came in normal range, praise God, but was still very obese and in need of changes or I'd risk health complications. I'm now down 100 and everything you write about it can relate to. Though I last flew…
  • This is down nearly 100 lbs
  • It's like these people have never had Ritz before. Lol I've had to cut them out completely because like you I'd eat a whole sleeve with a whole lot of peanut butter. I've liked eating Pirates Booty, or Air popped popcorn. Gives a nice salty savory crunch but low calorie for the volume in a serving
  • You'll need to start with 1,000,000 Twitter/fbook/Instagram followers... And be famous
  • I ain't lookin' for a free ride home Back to the middle. I need a new locale I need a girl that calls me baby, I need to know if she can save me.
  • "bookkeeper" is the only word in English language with 3 consecutive double letters "Queueing" is only word with 5 consecutive vowels
  • I wouldn't sweat it. Just focus on being balanced and keep to your calorie goal.

  • Prob about 500 calories, assuming oil used. Probably worth adding a few pinches of salt too in order to track some sodium
  • What do I think about CrossFit? I know they call their gyms "boxes" and I think that is pretty lame.
