No one tells you you'll be doing laundry all the freakin time. My gym clothes aren't gonna wash themselves but I also don't want to do laundry every other day either... Sigh... It's a blessing and a curse

Ya'll realize you can cut a sammy in half and have two meals, right? Bam! Half the calories, all the deliciousness

Don't feel bad. I wish I would have been on MFP to ask a few years ago before I dropped $100 on some miracle far burning supplement I was duped into buying at GNC. Did nothing. Now I'm losing weight and buying exercise from eating less and exercising regularly.
-
No.
-
I had no idea. Thanks!
-
In my MFP experience it doesn't, which may be why he's asking the question. Unfortunately I'm not logging any calorie burn from weight training as MFP doesn't calculate anything and I don't have a wearable device yet to get better accuracy

MFP censors swearing with "kitten" - what she's saying is she wants a great *kitten*. I can't help with that

My mini goal is to lose 12 lbs, hopefully by my family's vacation starting June 3. This will be the final 12 lbs in achieving a major goal of losing 100(!) lbs. so stoked about that! I've been losing at a pretty rapid rate since I've got a lot to lose so I think 12 lbs in 2 weeks is possible, but will require vigilant diet…

Tried on a pair of 38 jeans that I've kept around since college for some unknown reason since they haven't got me in years, but today they got on easy. Now just to get them hemmed since I have short legs. I'm glad I kept them because I really liked them. Also, it blows my mind I'm able to fit in 38 size jeans

It's a running training app. C25K stands for Couch to 5K. It's an 8 week program that gradually increases the running while decreasing the walking. I've completed it and am now running multiple 5Ks a week, this being when starting at the beginning the 1 minute run got me breathing hard. It's a great tool if you're…

BOVA'S that's totally option C I was thinking about! Good call

Net, per dictionary.com: remaining after deductions, as for charges or expenses (opposed to gross ): net earnings. Would you not count your TDEE as a part of that equation? I may have confused the OP but at the end of the day were just talking about math and she shouldn't think she can have 700 net cals and still lose.…

Now you got me thinking about Canolis. So for you Northeasterners, is Mikes or Modern's Bakery the home of the best Canoli in Boston? A friend of mind introduced me to option C around the Corner from Mikes when I was there last June but I don't recall what it was called

Consider your bmr too. That's the calorie burn you body goes through to simply keep you alive. You mentioned about your net calories is over 700, which would mean you're gaining over a pound a week instead of losing.
-
You got this. I'm on week 2 of C210K now. Why seemed like hell running 25 mins at a 12-min mile pace is now 15 minute intervals of 11:00-10:30 minute mile pace. I also run a 5K three days a week now in between the days I do the program. I focuse my 5K on time and my C210K program on achieving longer distances. Seems to be…

Maybe there is a need for clarity on the definition of the word "net." If you have a net calories count of 1200 you'd actually be gaining weight. When a business talks about their net profit they're referring to the gross income (sales, etc) - Expenses... The same point is made here. Your net calories would be your gross…

I've dropped my BMI from class 3 morbid obesity to Class 2 obesity. I don't put a ton of stock into BMI but there is something symbolic to losing the "morbid" from my results

29 year old male. I was probably 330-340 when I started, but I'd also got a good base of walking at a 4.0 mph pace and with max incline on treadmill. Now I've completed the program. I didn't have to redo any days, I'm now on week 2 of C210K and have been able to run up to 50 minutes nonstop. It blows my mind what I've been…

Nobody tells you that there are communities that have threads 100 pages long full of helpful tips, insights, and encouragements and are right there to help you fight the battle! You're not alone in this. By some miracle I have lost 80 lbs to date by making smarter decisions. Counting calories and weighing my food. Weight…

Krispy Kreme is inedible. Why anyone would eat those disgusting things is beyond me. The best places are always the unassuming mom and pop shops in a strip mall. My fave donut is chocolate glaze with custard filling. Custard has to be cold. There was a place down the road from me in Burbank called Donut Prince, which is my…

Put aside your preconceived notions and realize that "get off your butt and do something" is helpful because it is the truth. It may seem trite because it's not a long winded reply. I also have an aspiration to have a six pack one day. I was also a fatty when I got started. Now I'm 80 lbs down and while still overweight…

I was actually doing a bunch of research myself on this topic yesterday and decided on getting this Garmin HR, primarily because it rated well for swim use

Hoping this thread gets more entries soon. I lived in different spots around LA from 2008-2014 and just moved to San Diego in November. In Anaheim I would go check out The Packing House, which is a pretty great place to try out a lot of options. Definitely Portos, which has locations in Burbank, Glendale, and Downey, and…

I recently told my family, after I'd checked in at 299, that I'd started at 367. This was a shock to all of them as they knew I was big but not to what degree. It was pretty hard telling them all, I actually broke down in tears when I told my brothers. But I have all of their support to never get that way again.

Long time reader, first time poster (to this thread). I'm here to say that perhaps the most satisfying dessert of all time is a tall stack of original Oreos and an ice cold glass of milk for dunking. Near perfection. Has anyone ever just had milk and Oreos for dinner? As many time as I've sat down for milk and Oreos I'm…

"They call me the Hip-Hopapotamus Flows that glow like phosphorous Poppin' off the top of this esophagus Rockin' this metropolis I'm not a large water-dwelling mammal Where did you get that preposterous hypothesis? Did Steve tell you that, perchance?" Sorry, saw phosphorus and it made me think of Flight of the Conchords…

Well you've now been told exactly the answer to your question and you say it's too much work... So the question remains, do you really care? If you did then the $10 is costs to buy a new good scale on Amazon and take the 10 or so minutes it takes to enter and weigh your ingredients wouldn't be a hinderence

10 months ahead of my 30th bday and I learned I was almost 370lbs. It was a reality slap in the face as I knew I needed to make changes. I have a lot of things I want to do in life, get married, have kids, travel the world, enjoy a long career. So here I am now in May, six months before I turn 30 and I'm down almost 80 lbs…

This is a swimming NSV - last time I'd been swimming regularly I'd been stuck to 99% open turns cause my belly was too big and made flip turns really difficult and squeezed all the air out of me... Well today was the first time I'd gotten in the pool after losing about 80 lbs and I was able to do about 50-50 open turns vs…
