It could definitely be caffeine especially if you’re going from many cups of tea to one (assuming the tea is caffeinated). Maybe drink the same amount to see if that helps but have less sugar/milk in them? Sugar gives some people headaches if they normally eat a lot and cut it drastically. I personally get migraines if I…

Obviously parents get to choose, ultimately they are responsible for their kids health. But I think it’s good to give kids choices if the options are healthy. They will be more likely to eat their food and help build better habits. And a lot of times they will make good choices. When I was in elementary school, kids could…

If you’re eating high protein are you eating less carbs/fats? Maybe play around with your macros to find what makes you feel most satisfied. Make sure you don’t have your calories too low I think oatmeal is usually good because it has a lot of fiber. I find for me it keeps me full longer if I mix it with peanut butter or…

Just be patient! Give it 2-3 weeks and make sure you’re being accurate with logging and everything. Even if it’s slow it’s worth it. I saw a few people recommend weight tracking apps that give you trends, I downloaded Happy Scale and so far I like it. I get easily discouraged so it’s nice to see that really you are on a…

V8 or vegetable juice Celery naturally has sodium Broths/soups can be made salty Buffalo sauce/hot sauce has crazy high sodium like 400mg per serving and like no calories Soy sauce Cottage cheese salty and great protein Tajín is a Chile powder/salt seasoning that goes good on fruits and vegetables (cucumbers are good this…

Be kind to yourself, don’t stress so much about today, just try to find a way to prevent it from happening in the future—setting a higher calorie goal, adjusting macros so you’re getting proper nutrition/feeling satisfied, finding ways to move a little more. Its okay to take a day to get lunch if you really need it, one…

Thanks everyone for all the tips. I didn’t know that ibuprofen could potentially be a problem, it is my go to for headaches. I stopped taking excedrin when I cut back on caffeine but I found a travel pack in my old work bag last night which did help a bit. I used to get them fairly frequently but now it’s mostly just one…

Don’t. Learn how to eat to avoid feeling crummy—leave cals for snacks or up your allowance. Feeling crummy, irritable and weak will do you no favors especially if you want to work out or live your life normally. I find that if I go slowly my body will adjust and can eat less without feeling as poorly, but don’t overdo it.…

Broccoli is abt 6g carbs per cup raw! (1/2 bag frozen is about 16 carbs). You could have chicken tenderloins and broccoli. You could make a stir fry or just grill/bake the tenderloins and serve it with broccoli on the side. There’s lots of low carb vegetables but I always keep broccoli on hand

Congrats on the loss, I think you look great! There’s a huge difference, maybe you/your coworkers just haven’t noticed much because they see you every day. Your shoulders might seem broader to you because you are standing with better posture and your waist is so much smaller. It also looks like there’s less weight around…

@ljevans87 how long did it take you to lose?

Find out why it causes weight gain. If the medicine impacts metabolism or causes water retention that might be harder to deal with, but a lot of medicines cause weight gain bc they increase hunger or decrease energy/activity. For that you just have to stay consistent with logging and hitting your calories

I know it’s an old thread but I was the unhealthy family member, and probably the best example I had of family intervention was my aunt giving me a good example to follow and including me in her own healthier lifestyle. Not just “hints” or really any discussion about my weight, but she was making healthier choices and gave…

I’m not an expert, but I think the general consensus is that you can lose weight as long as your intake is less than your output Unless you have a health concern low carb/keto aren’t necessary. Some people feel more satisfied on a high fat diet so it is easier for them to lose weight that way. It’s definitely possible to…

I agree that you might want to set your goal down to something that gives you more of a budget to work with If you are having problems staying hungry some things I have done in the past to stay full but within calories: Add in low cal vegetables for bulk/volume without a lot of calories (ex: add onions, peppers, tomatoes…

I’m so sorry that you are hurting and that your husband isn’t being supportive of you. It’s amazing that you were able to come through your eating disorder and enjoy your life without having that over your head! You should feel really proud of yourself for that. It’s hard for a lot of people to lose weight in a healthy way…

@changeconsumeme happy birthday!! 🎉🎉

I agree. I’m 27 and looking to lose abt 20lb as well, trying to stay active on here and keep motivated.

I didn’t think I was picky bc I ate most of the foods/vegetables my family made, but as I get older I feel pretty picky compared to others. I’m trying to broaden my tastes a little bit I don’t like sushi, most fish/seafood, mayo based salads/coleslaw, avocado, green olives, eggplant... there’s more foods I dislike but I…

I’m sorry your anxiety is holding you back from doing what you want. Have you tried any sort of therapy to manage it? It might help This is probably untrue. You can’t know what other people think. For me it helps to ignore negative thoughts/beliefs like that. I might still think them but I try to ignore them if they come…

I try to just meet myself in the middle. Willpower is a finite resource, so if I have a craving that won’t go away after doing something else, eating at my normal meal time, or having some water, it can be better to have some of what I’m craving and move on. I try not to keep my favorites around—I know I will destroy an…

I haven’t ever eaten plant based really but if you like Mexican food you can make some good stuff with no meat—things like beans(black or pinto), squash, rice, avocado, corn, tomatoes, peppers and onions are all good. Spices and salsas can give you a lot of flavor. You can use pretty much any of those to make tacos (potato…

Good luck, I hope you’re able to stick with it and get back to where you’d like to be!

I agree with the poster who said you should talk to your doc if you can, there can be physical reasons for low energy that are easily fixed

I don’t know about the wings you’re buying, but raw chicken sometimes has bits of feathers left on and that can look like hairs on the ends

I love chicken leg quarters, season and bake375 for 50m to an hour. I normally eat only one piece (leg or thigh) but they seem to come out juicer than just legs or thighs. Serve with whatever vegetables you like or it’s in the oven long enough to bake potatoes at the same time
-
How do you usually cook/serve it? I’ve never tried chicken sausage before and don’t know what it would be best with (like with peppers, onions, or do you just eat it on its own?)

Aw man I’m sorry, that’s rough. Antidepressants can have physical effects, and a lot of antidepressants I know of also take time to get into your system so maybe that could be why it’s showing up now It might be nothing but it’s worth talking to your doctor to make sure everything is okay. I know when I was on medication I…

Maybe see another doc for a second opinion if you dont trust who you spoke to? It sounds like you have a pretty serious illness and it might be a good idea to take it easy and try to recover fully. If you go too hard before you’re better you could wind up making t worse and hurting your outcomes in the long run. Have you…

It sounds like you need to eat more, and try to do that consistently. If you have the discipline to stick to 1200 for a few days, you can probably also stick to 1500 (or whatever your mfp calorie goal is) and you might rebound less if you don’t restrict as much. I’ve also found sometimes it’s better to give in to a craving…
