  • That’s intense! I did whole30 as an elimination diet to figure out some food allergies, and the hardest thing I found was eating so much meat every day or being really low on calories. And I’m someone who likes meat and eats it most days

  • Hello all I’m a bit late to the challenge but hopping on to try and keep motivated! I’m cutting out a lot of my work snacking on soda/chips/candy, or making healthier swaps. And trying to add in more exercise each week and build strength. February Start Weight: 213lb February Goal Weight: 205lb Ultimate Goal Weight: 150lb…
  • For me, if I have chips I will eat them. If I buy small bags, I eat 5 small bags. I buy a big bag, I eat the big bag… I just like them too much. So I don’t buy chips to keep in the house, instead I will buy a bag like once a week when I visit friends so even if it’s a big bag I am splitting it with other people. And I…

  • The other posters have made good points about Whole Foods and being sustainable, definitely think about if your trying to lose weight for a health problem as your overall nutrition will probably help too That said, I have used Slimfast and similar before and it can help to be told exactly what to do if you aren’t used to…
  • It’s not health specific, but I read the book Atomic Habits recently and loved it! I think small daily habits are a great way to set yourself up for a healthy lifestyle, and the book does a great job of breaking down the steps of building habits and setting yourself up to succeed.

  • Hi! You’ve gotten a lot of good replies, but just coming from a similar sort of diet back when I was a student I think your biggest issue is probably sugar (and protein as a few other people mentioned). From personal experience, sugar drinks are a huge calorie sink and make it hard to get enough nutrients within the rest…
  • I don’t have celiac as far as I know but wheat makes me really sick. If you don’t have any other allergies there are a lot of gluten free products that specify they are made in a gluten free facility or separate line. Some things say “gluten free” but they just mean they don’t have wheat as a main ingredient, especially a…
  • I know a few people who have to do low sodium for health reasons; there are a lot of good spice blends out there! Mrs dash has multi packs of spice blends and Penzeys also has a lot of good spice blends for cooking at home. A lot of fast food or processed foods have a lot of salt to preserve them or make them more…

  • Hi, I’m really sorry for your loss and I hope you are doing ok. You got this!! I am trying to log/weigh in everyday, I had made some progress in 2020 but after a death in the family I gained it all back. Right now I have ~40lb to lose and I want to get more active, feel free to add me if you want!
  • I’m trying to log and weigh in every day if you want to add me! I really like the community on MyFitnessPal

  • I have food allergies, paleo as a trend has been pretty helpful to me specifically because there is a lot of convenience foods available that I know will be safe for me to eat. Pagels are pretty great bagel substitute, but I don’t think they are probably any better than a normal bagel besides the portion size

  • Thanks for all of the ideas!
  • I have a condition that affects my blood pressure/heart rate, and I find that if I get my heart rate going and then stop suddenly, I get lightheaded. So if I were to run for a mile and then stop at a crosswalk I would feel very faint. I don’t know if it’s the same thing but I find that keeping myself moving helps. So…
  • I think that body positivity can be really important. People shouldn’t feel their worth or value is tied to certain body traits. It’s easy for people to try and push acceptance for themselves by putting down another group (by saying that REAL women have curves or pushing thinness as an ideal goal) but what I’ve seen/heard…
  • Basic self care: getting good sleep, eating nutritious meals, getting fresh air/exercise. Little habits: making time to do at least one fun or relaxing thing every day, writing down important memories or printing photos from significant events to stay focused on the positive, spending time or reaching out to friends and…
  • Dark chocolate chips are a good fill-in sweet. You can ask your roommates not to offer you any or to put them away if possible instead of leaving them on the counter. I’m mostly in the “it’s theirs and I can’t take it” boat. But I wouldn’t ask them to not bring it home unless they are bringing it home jus for your sake
  • Someone on here had mentioned the Happy Scale app, I really like using it so far, you can use it to tack your weight and it gives you trends. For me I think it’s usually 3-4 days after the last day of my cycle is when I am evened out weight wise
  • I dont think there is any legit research on foods being an acne trigger, but I know anecdotally that if you are sensitive to certain foods (like mild intolerance/allergy), it can show up as acne. My moms skin has a lot of inflammation and breaks out when she eats dairy but she had to do an elimination diet to find out. If…
  • @_emily1108 how was It 2? I want to see it but haven’t had a chance to make it to the movies yet. I really liked the first one. I also want to watch Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark and Brightburn when they come out on Blu-ray
