There is a target group for every size of clothing...we can't let people walk around nude. So we have Petite for short, we have regular sizes and we have Plus... Why not make another subgroup for tall and skinny since they are a pretty small subgroup to begin with. Nothing against models, really, I'm not overweight, I'm…

But seeing underweight models obviously is not succeeding in inspiring people to lose weight according to you saying everyone's overweight or obese. I again say that's the case in US. US is not entire world :)
-
You are actually wrong...even people that are as skinny as they are don't have same measurements. Even skeletons would not be the same. Example: Lais Ribeiro Height: 5’11 or 180 cm; Weight: 54 kg or 119 Pounds; Measurements: 31.5B-23-33 Behati Prinslo Height: 5’11 or 180 cm; Weight: 54 kg or 119.5 Pounds; Measurements:…

It makes no sense to have normal looking models? What in the world you are talking about? :D Do you think those models would look any worse at BMI 19? Do they have to be borderline anorexic (they make them stay over 16.5 because legal fus)? We might have different vision of normal...i'm not from US and obesity here is not…
-
Again no...I wasn't trying to talk about actual PLUS sizes... I was just pointing out this healthy weight woman who wears regular size (10) and not plus size clothes being referred to as PLUS. I think that people who can walk into regular clothes shop and find fitting clothes can't be referred to as PLUS size. And pointing…

Nonsense from original post? I do not think you understood me at all. I was addressing the fact that woman with BMI 21 is being called PLUS, big and similar. Their model from previous campaign in 1.8 m tall and 50 kg (BMI 16.5). I'm not say we should have overweight models (this one is not) I'm saying not to put…

I am just wondering what kind of message it sends to teenagers when THIS is called PLUS size... Sure she is tall but actually pretty slim for her height (she actually recently lost about 9 kg - BMI 24 so some of the pics could be 'old ones')

You might have low blood pressure. What you are describing sounds like Postural Hypotension. Check this a bit for causes: http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/orthostatic-hypotension/basics/causes/con-20031255

It will depend on what works best for you. Some people find a bit higher protein and fat eating to be a bit more filling. I however love my carbs (pasta, rice, potatoes, bread, sweets) and had no issues losing weight. Mine is set to 50% carbs, 30% fat, 20% protein. I do not stress if I go over in any of my macros. I only…

2 lbs a week is too much for someone your weight. Losing weight that fast will mean losing not only fat but muscle tissue as well. 2 lbs is reserved for people with 50-75+ lbs to lose...And when getting to the last 10-15 lbs it's advised to go for 0.5 lbs. It takes time and patience. But it is much easier on your body…

You really should not set such extreme goals as 30 lbs in 3 months at your weight. You should not be aiming to lose more that 1 lbs a week. 1200 kcal is really low for someone with your level of activity and it is not sustainable. I did 1200 kcal diet BUT I'm mostly a couch potato that does only some walking for exercise.…

For a second there I thought I was on Instagram and not on MFP. :D :D With giving benefit of a doubt that this is more than just fishing for compliments I would advise you to stop paying attention what people say. This kind of post to me screams of need for validation which tells me that even with all the poses and smiles…

Always before since the weight after cooking will depend on how much water it absorbs and it won't always be the same.

On the other note... There is 26 weeks till Xmas so you need bit over 1 lbs loss per week to achieve it... weight loss isn't linear so it's difficult to know for sure...but it seems that you could maybe get there with maintaining about 600-700 kcal deficit from your TDEE (which will get lower with weight loss). The way you…
-
Did you eat 35 000 kcal over your TDEE ? Unlikely...but what do I know what you ate :D

Never tested my body fat in any way... tried that military fat test thing and it puts me at 28%, My BMI is 23 right now. When comparing my looks to pictures that represent different BF % I would say 25% looks about right... so I guess 25-28 would be probably correct. I'm fine with that... however I'm still 3-8 lbs away…

@cglogosh Her opinions are wrong because they defy laws of physics and logic as well. Her opinions are scientifically wrong. If I think elephants can fly does it make it true? No. Because it defies logic and laws of physics.

There is not need to go on a 'diet'- diets are not successful. You need to get control of you portion sizes and try to make healthier choices when possible. No need to cut out anything completely! Portion control is key to success. Start at a smaller deficit of calories and go from there. At your weight even walking really…

How long has it been since you started? Only 2 weeks? It might take longer to show progress especially if you are new to workout (extra water weight is common with new exercise routines)
-
Walking is amazing exercise! No need to do anything else...do as much as you can and as often as you can...being outside on fresh air will help you feel better too. No need to do any more of physical stuff to lose weight. Weight is lost in the kitchen after all. Put your stats into MFP, set desired weight loss. It will…

@mlee981 Sorry to burst your bubble but if your maintenance was really 1800 and you ate 3000+ you would gain even if you ate 3000 kcal of broccoli. You cannot defy laws of physics no matter how hard you try. There is NOTHING wrong with meat, dairy, eggs. Stop demonizing food. If you want to eat plant based that is fine.…

Your primary motivation for losing weight should be getting healthy. Looks don't really matter if your health is suffering. At 300 lbs even if you are happy with your looks, your body is suffering. Since you say your body image is skewed try looking at some objective signs... take measurement, check your weight... BMI is…

Overeating alone is not classified as an eating disorder - however it is not normal eating habit. Someone who has a tendency to overeat without being hungry is not too far away from binge eating - and that is an eating disorder (included in DMS - 5 classification). I am not saying this girl in particular has it or will…

This might come from me watching too much of 'my 600 lbs life' lately... BUT - most of those people started really getting big in the high school years...they were already chubby, they were teased, and they just accepted the 'big girl' or 'big guy' role. Their families 'didn't say anything in order to not hurt their…

If you are not seeing weight loss it is likely that you are eating at maintenance calories. Are you using kitchen scale and weigh all your food? Saying 1350 kcal is a lot for you seems unlikely considering you must be eating more than that to stay the same weight. It is good that you are exercising and some water weight…

Since I assume you are making food (?) you could easily control her portion sizes and count calories for her without her necessarily knowing. Of course you would tell her you are introducing new healthier eating habits so she would not think of it as 'diet'. Getting more active is a good thing and also not getting too…

I just watched it on YouTube :)

hahah :D well thank you for getting me hooked! Watched 4 episodes back-to-back!

Calories, after that make sure you get enough protein and fats and fill the rest of the calories with carbs. Calories are what matters.

Congrats! That is amazing! :)
