  • I am sorry I understood wrong that you meant larger weight loss with calorie increase. I am happy you found what is sustainable for you. I increased my activity to be able too eat more since I'm short and quite light. I agree that low calorie diets are very difficult. Good luck!
  • If that is what she meant I agree completely. Going for sustainable is always a good thing. As I said in my posts that eating as much as possible while losing is a WIN!
  • I am really sorry if you think I'm ruining you thread. I just don't think that someone coming to this thread and reading 'hey 1800 kcal works better than 1500 kcal (magic!)' and increase their calories since they might be not losing at 1500. That is not how it works. At all. 1800 is not the magic number. Each person has…
  • I'm 5'2, 125 lbs...at my goal weight and was doing maintenance for a while and now considering losing a couple vanity lbs. My maintenance is about 1700-2000 depending on the day so 'cutting' would be 250 less. Don't see how that is relevant.
  • You said you are losing more weight eating 1800 than before when you say you ate less. I just know that for losing more weight answer is never to up the calories and not exercise. :)
  • If this is meant for me... I didn't say she can't be losing at 1800 - I know many that do...and even more than than. However what I did say is that she can't be losing more at 1800 than with smaller intake.
  • You truly must be because it involves breaking laws of physics. It is same as saying you are spending more money out of your paycheck but manage to save up more at the end of month :) I'm happy you are losing weight...and that you are happy. But you should also understand that what you are saying can't be correct. You…
  • Just to explain... I am not saying you can't be losing at 1800...I'm saying you can't be losing more than at 1200-1700...
  • That is not how any of this works :D
  • I'm here :) Down to losing some vanity pounds after reaching original goal weight :)
  • If you are really eating that much and losing a lot of weight while being quite close to bottom healthy BMI I would suggest you see a doctor. There are a number of quite serious and less serious conditions that can cause it. And the 'quite serious' ones are nothing to joke about. See a doctor.
  • If TOM is a problem try eating maintenance on those days. It will make it less likely to go crazy. Don't stress that much about today...life happens. Just log it and move on.
  • Hey there! Congrats on deciding to change your life :) I would suggest you check out Success stories section for inspiration! You can do it! Good luck! P.S Slow and steady wins the race, take your time and lose weight for good!
  • I agree...but she also thinks she's not eating enough and should eat more...That would lead to gaining weight. I think she should really look at everything she eats and figure out proper way to count calories... I agree that if she was really eating that little she would be dropping at least 2lbs/week - it would be quite…
  • I am sorry if I misunderstood this part, but do you think you got weight eating 500 kcal and are here to eat more - to lose weight? You did not put on 20 lbs in 2 years by eating too little. It doesn't work that way. You are more than likely highly underestimating your calorie intake...which is better than if you were…
  • Bananas? Oat cookies? or any kind of sweets?
  • The point of logging is to stay accountable and keep track of your eating habits. What is the point of not logging it? The diary is for you and being honest is the only way to go. Not logging it doesn't change the fact that you ate it. And with time it will give you a better insight into you weight loss-maintaining-gaining…
  • Ok, I get what you mean. I didn't make the picture post and I agree it has info more like media was displaying it rather than what is the reality.
  • I do not know what 'misleading blurbs' you are talking about. Maybe it did not come across like I planned it too. English is my second language after all, even though I usually don't have any issues. Maybe everyone here just read it as they want to. Just to clear up I never said Calvin Klein labeled her as PLUS size. I…
  • I have 2 snacks in my daily food plan, I just make it fit my calorie goals. And if you are talking chips or similar, I snack on that too sometimes but weigh out a 'dose'... 25-30 grams and it's enough for me.
  • Now I'm off to sleep... I said what I wanted... we should try to promote health in every aspect and way. Stay healthy people...and good night! ;)
  • I'm talking that models that are selling us regular size clothes should be healthy weight since underweight should not be regular. Make it a separate sizing such as petite and plus...they can still model for their size. Marketing underweight as regular is what I mind.
  • Well that is already how it works with measurements... A girl that won Next top model in my country ended up losing the contract because her hip measurement was too large (I believe it was in the low 90s in cm if I remember correct). And yes, I would actually implement minimum required BMI (18.5), and I do not see it as…
  • I do not have my own rules for healthy or not. In medicine there are guidelines. Weight under 20 BMI is already considered concerning (with 18.5 being accepted as lower limit). What I was trying to say about some models being sickly skinny let me show you what I had in mind (not even worst example): The guideline for…
  • It is not actually illegal to hire model under certain BMI but it is however frowned upon so I read they try to keep over 16.5... I have nothing against beautiful or thin models. If they requested BMI 18.5 I think it would not impact their beauty in a negative way. I never said they should be average... beauty queens are…
  • You are right I was not concerned that much about them (they do it for living - it's their choice) I'm more concerned about the message it sends. Because even if they might not have an eating disorder... in order to achieve 'the dream and the vision of perfection' like some here say...people will try to achieve such…
  • I don't usually follow fashion industry and models and so on...I just happened to see this post about a PLUS size model and I was surprised to see that this woman that's normal weight (BMI 21) is considered plus because underweight is considered the norm. I really don't follow it usually so maybe that is why I was so…
  • I did not say weight alone is enough however it is one of the main criteria. Anorexic or not, it is significantly underweight and therefor unhealthy. Whether or not it is anorexia indeed I can't determine from weight alone but it is a red flag.
  • I feel very good about myself thank you :) I'm calling them borderline anorexic because they are in medical sense concerning weight (I am a doctor of medicine) and BMI under 16.5 is considered anorexic. I'm not going to get into how they maintain such weight but bulimia and anorexia are quite common in modeling world.
  • Yeah it's the time of advanced technologies...soon models will be obsolete with virtual runways and whatever.
