I pre-log every morning, and the first thing I put in is....the evening's dessert. Then, I work backward so that I can "afford" the dessert calories...

Thanks, everyone!

I just tell them that someone said they wanted to see less of me, so I'm obliging them by becoming....less.

Bought a new sweater yesterday...size "L", after wearing mostly XLs and 2XLs the past few years. Wore it today...my secretary said it looked too big around the waist. Can't get my mind around the idea of possibly buying an "M" the next time...

This. Currently, the part of my body in which I'm noticing the most significant fat loss is . . . my head, specifically, above my ears is now hard instead of squishy. Weird.

Thanks, all--interesting feedback! Carry on.

You really should go into stand-up comedy!

That cracked me up--awesome!

Yes, I understand that CO is usually overestimated and CI is usually underestimated, and I'm not talking about eating back exercise calories--I get all that. Again, I'm not unhappy with my results or what is going on (I've lost 53 pounds this year). I'm just interested in: has anybody else tracked the difference between…

Just some math: You're losing .75 pounds per week, and want to lose another 22 pounds. At your current rate, that will be about 30 weeks (7 months). Just think: by the first day of Spring (about March 20) you will have achieved your goal. I think that would be fantastic and a great way to start Spring and Summer!

I rely on both CI and CO to lose weight. My method: 1. Weigh self first thing in the morning. 2. Calculate CI at "s edentary" level (i.e., BMR +20%). 3. Calculate desired daily calorie deficit (based on how many pounds left to lose this year divided by days left in the year). 4. Calculate the day's needed activity level by…

Hi, I'm Stephen and I teach college (future high school teachers). I started 2016 at 262 pounds, and my goal is 186. I'm currently at 212 pounds, so I'm right on track for my goal by the start of 2017. My daughter gave me a FitBit for Christmas last year, and my son introduced me to MFP shortly thereafter, so I use both to…

My doctor wanted to put me on some medical packaged high-protein no exercise program, with coaching, etc. He also was somewhat discouraging about my ability to lose weight on my own. That kind of ticked me off, and so far this year, I've lost 50 pounds--want to lose 26 more--so that when I go back for my one-year check I…

Bought size L gym shorts and t-shirts on Friday, started wearing them today, and am recycling the old XL shorts and shirts this afternoon...

[/quote] Hi Bill, can you steer me to any studies or reference materials that might give me an idea on muscle mass (or lean mass, or body fat %) that is possible by age? As I'm approaching me goal weight (hope to hit it by New Year's), I want to work on strength, etc., and thought having such info would help me establish…

Hmmmm....you weighed 90.1 pounds on the left side, and 88.9 pounds on the right side: did you find yourself tilting to the port side, or walking in circles? :D

Does anyone know what the actual limit is to how much fat a body can burn in a day or a week? I've never seen that number anywhere. Anybody know?

Unless you eat ALL the time! ; )

Got two new pair of Levi's 501 shrink to fit jeans for the first time in a lot of years. AND, they seem to be a bit big, so I'll wait a few more weeks and get a couple more pair in the next size smaller.
