CICO and keeping my sodium under 1500 mg (for blood pressure, but has the added benefit of no water weight...and no swollen feet!!!!)

Frozen meat and fish is often soaked in/injected with salt water to act as a preservative and ward off freezer burn. I learned this the hard way.

Are you feeling tired (more so than every Mom of small children) or constantly hungry? If the answer is no and you aren't losing more than 1-2 lbs per week, let it where it is. If yes, then you likely aren't getting enough and should adjust your settings. Having energy to care for your kids and taking care of health is WAY…

It all works out. Glad you enjoyed your fries.

Oatmeal and most fruits and vegetables are god sources of soluble fiber. Or are you specifically looking for a supplement?

Spread out over a weeks time, one splurge meal means very little. Enjoy! And best wishes to tiur Mom!!!

Atkins. Stayed on it for about three days. Felt worse than I ever had with the exception of when i had the full blown flu. Threw it out the window. Any diet that tells me I can't eat an apple is for the birds!!!!!

Nope. I see improvements and it makes me feel good. I seriously doubt I'll ever be happy with my body.

The one that really surprised me was the amount of sodium in individually frozen fish and chicken breast. The kind you buy in the bag...

I'm beginning to wonder if we are married to the same man....

Sargento baby swiss has just 20 mg sodium per slice. My blood pressure went up so I began watching my sodium. I had NO idea I was eating that much. Holy *kitten* I feel SO much better now. My feet don't swell at the end of the day!

It sounds like a sensory thing to me as well. My 18 yr old can not handle certain textures. Sounds like yours is taste rather than texture. Other than junk food, what DO you like? Lets try to work from there.

Lentils. There are so many way to make them!

You can add me if you like. My diary is open, I don't eat much meat and I eat fairly healthy ( at least I think I do). I am not big on exercise. I work as housekeeper for a fair size camp/conference/retreat center and I am active and on my feet all day. There isn't much energy left after moving beds and washing windows all…

I follow (or try to) the 50/20/30 macro levels that MFP sets. I also eat low sodium. I eat largely vegetarian, partly because it is easier to stay within my goals and partly because I just like the food. Home cooked food mostly.

I'm so glad you got checked out!!! At least your health is one less anxiety.
-
I just met my last mini goal! I wanted to be under 200 lbs, fully dressed, by the time I have my next blood pressure check. I weighed in this morning at 194 and my check up is Thursday!! Time to set my next one.

Has anyone noticed there are a lot of *kitten*s in this thread? The subject obviously brings out some strong feelings

It does have to come from yourself however...My 18 yr old son gave me a shot of motivation last week. I was feeling a little stressed, trying to make all my numbers come out where I wanted them to. I made a comment about feeling like giving up and he just looked at me a,d said " I dont think you should do that. You know…

I log each item because I am not only watching calories but nutrients as well.

Yeah, I had a boyfriend who used to try to motivate (control!) me by criticizing my looks/weight. It took years to get over. Today if someone called me fat I would probably respond with something like "I can't believe you just said that. You really are a *kitten*". Get those people out of your life. NOBODY needs to be…

This! Take a deep breath. Drink plenty of water. Go back to your regular eating. It's all good.

I worked a shift in the kitchen at work last night and, in spite of having taco bar available for lunch and turkey, roast beef, loaded mashed potatoes, veggies loaded with butter, cake and pie available for dinner, I came in under goal!! AND because I kept my sodium intake under control, my feet didn't swell!!!! GO ME!!
