  • I just had 2 oz of bourbon. I actually measured and was thoroughly disappointed at how small it was :D
  • The original Amityville Horror. The room covered in flies and the red eyes...,I slept with the lights on for a week.
  • We run across this where I work. Someone will register as vegetarian so we make an alternative meatless entree, usually beans or lentils with rice or quinoa. Then when they come through the serving line they look t what is offered and say "don't you have any pasta"? Or better yet, want a veggie burger because "there isn't…
  • Leftovers. Swedish meatballs over a baked potato and, because I was still hungry, a small bowl of chili.
  • Hummus, tomato, onion, lettuce and dill pickle. Turkey, onion and avocado. Mozarella, tomato and fresh basil. You can't go wrong with pbj.
  • Lentil, swiss chard and sweet potato curry. Tandoori quinoa. Jambalaya. Swedish meatballs. Cowboy beans and cornbread. I wouldn't call my diet boring. I adjust the recipes to lower the saturated fat and sodium levels. Other than that, if it fits and I like it...I eat it!
  • Give up coffee?!?! Good God, I hope not! There is no life without coffee, chocolate and cheese. Not necessarily in that order.
  • I lost 50 lbs in 6 mo. I started at 214 and have 10-15 more to go. It CAN be done.
  • Roasted red pepper hummus, swiss cheese, tomato, sliced onion and dill pickle on sandwich thins. Sliced mozzarella, tomato and fresh basil on a bagel or ciabatta bread. Salad with black beans, corn, halved grape tomatoes, diced cucumbers, diced onions and orange bell pepper. Make a basic viniagrette with cumin and chili…
  • My last mini goal was to fit into a pair of size 14 jeans and medium tshirt. I wore them yesterday!!! Comfortably, to boot! That's 50 lbs down. I am not at my full goal yet but, I am taking a break. I set my goal to maintenance and will do so for a couple weeks/month. When I resume I am setting my goal to lose 30 more lbs.…
  • It depends on where you start. If your "before" diet consists of off name boxed and canned food, generic white bread and the like, you are going to have a really hard time getting an equivalent amount of healthy foods including produce and fresh meats. Back when my kids were very small and we were totally broke most weeks,…
  • I usually do eat what Pacer tells me I have burned. If I don't I get too tired and rundown and am more likely to binge.
  • Yes. It really IS that simple. It is a matter of choices. I love fast food burgers but eating them takes too big a chunk of my calories (and saturated fat. and sodium) so I don't eat them anymore. It's a mental thing. I can have it, I just choose not to. Sugar is a trigger for me so it is in my best interest to limit it. I…
  • You can use quick or old fashioned rolled oats. Do you have a recipe?
  • So, the freezer compartment works but the fridge doesn't? Have you had it looked at? Or is the freezer a separate unit? I freeze individual portions of whatever I cook. Chili, lentils, stir fry...you name it, That way nothing goes bad and I always have a nice selection of home cooked (and pre weighed, measured) foods in my…
  • Not really. The only things I pay much attention to ( other than calories) are saturated fat and sodium so things like baked/fried treats and fast food are mostly out. Even those I refuse to obsess about. If i go over a bit, I do. No big deal.
  • I have no idea what you'd classify it and I don't think I'd call it pizza, but it looks awesome! I love black eyed peas and I love tofu. I'd have to include some actual mozzarella or provalone though. There is no substitute for that, imho.
  • I don't log splenda, seasonings other than salt (I track sodium), vegetables used as seasonings, or diet soda. I do track black coffee for the potassium.
  • ^^^This!^^^ If you are chronically hungry and tired, eat. If you feel good and are losing at an appropriate amount per week, don't, or eat half. I log steps only most of the time even though I have a fairly active job. Most days it's fine but sometimez, after an especially busy day I will add an hour or so of activity to…
  • SW was 214. As of today I am 168. My current goal is 155. I will maintain that for a couple months then reassess
  • Out of curiosity, what DO you eat? Do you eat in truckstops or take most of your own food with you?
  • Good luck. I'm not a trucker but I've been married to mine for 21 years. It is hard to find decent food on the road, especially with many fuel stops going away from the full service restaurant and having only fast food joints. Most convenience stores carry fresh fruit and those little cups of fruit in the refrigerated…
  • I'm not sure exactly. I went from a tight size 18 to a loose fitting 16. I am not ready for a 14 yet. I am 5'7" and have lost 44 lbs.
  • Hi! I started my journey in February at 214. Today I am at 171. My goal is 150. Anyone can add me and my diary is open.
  • #1. I tucked my shirt into my shorts this morning and didn't even cringe at my reflection in the mirror. I haven't done that many years!! #2. Not quite sure I'd call it a victory but, walking through the house this morning my pj pants fell off. Seriously. Fell completely down. Luckily no one else was up yet or it might…
  • Don't worry about it. They will inevitably gain it back because extreme diets aren't sustainable. Your slow weight loss and (hopefully) lifestyle change is. As they say "he who laughs last laughs best".
  • Prelog your food. Seriously, it helps. Last night my MIL ( bless her heart) brought a cheesecake. My hubby and son dove into it. I wanted a piece so bad that I even got it out of the fridge but when I tried to log it, for some reason I couldn't connect to the server. I have a policy, if I can't (fairly) accuratly log it, I…
  • 20 lbs to normal bmi. I'll let that stand for a while and then reassess.
  • Head of Housekeeping for a camp/conference/retreat center. I clean things, order things and coordinate with the rest of the housekeepers to keep everything moving smoothly. Some days it feels like herding cats. Some days I fill in as a cook as well. I'm tired.
  • Most plant foods have very little sodium. Meat has some naturally occurring sodium but not too much. If you are watching your sodium your best bet is to cook from scratch, avoid canned, boxed or frozen things and cut the amount of salt you put in a recipe by half.
