At the Dr's suggestion I take a 400 mg magnesium tablet daily. I get charlie horses at night if I stop. I also sleep much better now. Any particular reason you were thinking of tracking it?

Brush lightly with oil, season with salt and pepper. Roast until cooked but not browned. Brush or dip in sauce made from Franks RedHot and brown sugar (to taste but more sweet than tart). Return to the oven and roast until the sauce is sticky and tips are crispy. No, it isn't healthy. Wings aren't healthy. But they're…

Coat in seasoned flour and fry in bacon drippings. Healthy? Nope. Yummy? Youbetcha.

Having mini goals helps me. When I started my final goal seemed so far away. I decided that for the time, I would aim for losing 10 by my next blood pressure check. Then, another 10...etc.40 down, 25 to go.

A lot of people I know do the semi homemade thing. My MIL is still determined to duplicate my fantastic chocolate chip cookies by doctoring a mix of some sort.

My current mini goal is to have lost a total of 40 lbs by my next Dr appt at the beginning of August. I am about 1/2 lb from that now so , it's time for a new mini goal. I dug out my smallest pair of jeans. They are still snug but I can get them on. I also found a t-shirt I accidentally ordered in the wrong size. So, my…

Maybe I should have said "one ingredient ingredients ". Sounded too complicated

I eat lots of fresh, one ingredient things. Cook from scratch as much as is practical . Whole grains as much as possible. But "clean" no. I enjoy an occasional diet soda, icecream when it fits into my calorie/saturated fat goals, chocolate, etc. Life should be lived, not endured. And, while I agree with the concept, I…

Only one suggestion, log EVERYTHING for a couple weeks and look at your nutrition stats. Then begin making substitutions/changes one at a time. Don't "diet". Change your habits a little at a time. Weight will come off and your tastes will gradually change. This is a marathon, not a sprint.

I'm 50 and the only exercise I get is work. I clean for 6-10 hrs per day. I have a pacemaker ( electrical system problem, no mechanical heart issues) so my heart rate is set to not go below 60. 40 lbs lighter now, blood pressure is controlled. Resting heart rate is in the 60s, working it gets into the 80s-90s. Still have a…

It's a shock, isn't it. I was floored when I started watching my sodium. I try to stay between 1500 and 2300 mg of sodium now but looking back to my first diary entries...I could rack up 3500-4000 mg without any trouble. First rule, limit packaged (boxed, canned or frozen) stuff. Second, get into the habit of reading…

Greek yogurt with banana, scrambled egg whites and a slice of whole grain toast.

I log consistently, good or bad (or at least say upfront when/why on the rare occasion that I don't). My diary is open. Anyone can add me.

2 lbs either way, depending on salt intake (I try to stay under 1500 and if I go significantly over I "grab" water", hormones and heat/humidity.

I was just thinking that I have NO clue what size I wear now. I started out in a size 18 at 5'7", 214. Last I bought jeans was a size 16 and currently at 176, they hang on me. Guess I need to actually GO shopping and try some things on. Dang...I hate shopping.

Cheese is my kryptonite.

My moment was when the Dr put me on a blood pressure pill for the first time in my life. Ironocally, it wasn't a year earlier when I landed in the hospital and wound up with a pacemaker or when my cholesterol level was much higher than the Dr wanted it to be. Nope. But the blood pressure thing turned the lightbulb on for…
