All I can say is...there is a reason they call Victoria's Secret bra a miracle! Almost 40 lbs down and I need a miracle!

If I eat at McD's I also get the southwest salad, but without meat and I only use about half the dressing.

I'm new to the whole blood pressure thing but that sounds scary high to me. https://www.caring.com/charts/blood-pressure-170-100 I would say a trip to the Dr is called for. Sooner rather than later.

Lentils and either quinoa or brown rice. You can flavor the lentils SO many ways! Taco, chili, curry, cajun....

When you say "skyrockets" how high do you mean. Blood pressure goes up and down during your day. It will be higher when you are active thats normal. If it goes up dangerously high...get thee to a Dr! Like, now!

I have no idea if an anti inflammatory diet is a real thing or not. A year and a half ago I was eating ibuprophen and naproxen like candy because I hurt all over. All. The. Time. I started seeing a new Dr who suggested eliminating alcohol because it causes inflammation. I promptly ignored his advice. Fast foreward a year…

Forgot to add, I used 93% lean gr turkey in place of the pork. 55 mg sodium, 109 cals.

Usually only holidays or special occasions. Today is Fathers Day in the US. I am lucky enough to still have my Dad and my hubby both to celebrate with so it has pretty much turned into a cheat weekend. I log everything but don't stress over the numbers ( well, I try not to stress). So far I've had bbq ribs and ravioli…

Breakfast sandwich (egg white, swiss cheese on a Brownberry sandwich thin), watermelon and canteloupe.

Blue Bunny, Turkey Hill or Stone Cold Creamery.

I work at a camp/conference/retreat center. The days I work a shift in the kitchen I am in the same boat with serving things I shouldn't eat. Our ched is a good cook but loves his salt and REALLY loves his deep fryer. I try to make the best choices I can (baked potato with sour cream and steamed broccoli, salad with lots…

I try to follow the sodium and saturated fat guidelines. I am working on reducing my blood pressure and cholesterol. Some days I succeed, some days I fail miserably. My diary is open and I am always open to new friends. Feel free to add me if you like!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This.

Oh yeah. But mostly I just miss the mindless eating. Back when I didn't "have" to log my food or mind my nutrient levels. Back when potato chips were still my friend. *Sigh* But then, I get dressed in the morning and I can breathe after zipping my jeans. Makes it better.

Thanks! I'll try it!

I was shockex also at the amount of sodium I was eating. I try (and fail some days) to stay within the 1500 mg limit recommended by the American Heart Association. It is getting easier. The days I struggle/fail are the days I eat at work. Our head of food services is a good cook but he does love his salt.

Oooh, a 1/4 cup of vanilla greek yogurt mixed with 1Tbsp peanut butter. Perfect dip for fruit. Add a tiny bit of sweetener if you like. I love it with apple slices!!

I just bought Teddies Super Chunky no salt added peanut butter. SO good but you have to stir it. Just read the label and pick a brand without added trans fats. BTW, I lovelovelove Daves Killer Bread but my Walmart doesn't always have it, Brownberry Natural is good too.

^^^^^^^^^ This! Relax. Offer whatever you are eating. Make happy noises when you eat it (say something like, Oh, this is so good.) Sooner or later she'll decide to try it. Ad if her first reaction isnt positive, dont push it. All forcing kids to eat things will accomplish is, a lifetime of issues with food. BTW, I had the…

Be careful not to drop sodium levels too low, particularly if you're drinking a lot of water and sweating a lot over a prolonged time. You may be at risk of abnormally low blood sodium levels (hyponatremia). If it gets too bad, it's a potentially fatal medical emergency; it typically begins with headache, irritability, or…

I am on my feet all day and work in the heat a lot of the day. My feet swell. Is there any help for this other than drinking lots of water and keeping sodium levels down (both of which I already try to do)?

Lean cuisine meals are fine. Not enough food for me and too high in sodium but if that isn't an issue for you, no problem.

What everybody else said here. I feed my family of four (including two teenage male eating machines) for around $600 per month. This includes soda, junk food and frozen/convenience food for said eating machines and boxed cereal for the hubby. Oh, and plenty of taco fixings. Can't feed teenagers without tacos. The rest is…

For me it's no salt added tuna and Hellmans mayo with olive oil.

What are your stats? Also, I would suggest opening your diary. There are many possible reasons for fatigue.

After being overweight for many years and not really caring because I was basically healthy and felt good, my heart started doing weird stuff and I got a pacemaker for no precisely identifiable reason, my blood pressure went up and my cholesterol went up. I basically had a choice, start taking care of myself or live on…

I go to my happy place...Netflix and Supernatural reruns.

Onions. Nothing savory happens without onions. And garlic. And peppers and celery. Tomatoes. Green chilis. Now I'm hungry again....

Walnuts, peanuts, almonds, cheese of all varieties, hard boiled eggs...I'm not a huge meat fan but I am trying to eat more because the days I don't I have a hard time getting enough protein.
