Feel free to add me. My diary is open. Everyone needs a word of encouragement sometimes!!

Ive made it in the crock pot many times. Homemade is definitely thinner and the lower the fat content the thinner it is. You can add unflavored geletain if this bothers you. Also, expect it to take 10 hours or so to "set up" ( the final step). There are excellent instructions on Pinterest.

Stuff them with feta cheese, sauteed onions and garlic or black beans, corn, quinoa, onions, peppers and Mexican spices.

Weekends are a little different for me as I generally work Saturdays. Most of the week I work in Housekeeping but on weekends I put in a shift or two in the kitchen at the camp/ conference/retreat center where I work. Our head cook is REALLY good but has a penchant for deep fried and creamy/cheesey things that are calorie…

Shredded wheat cereal is an excellent source of iron too (enriched).

There are tons of ways to have lentils. Mexican, herbed/ Italian, curried, Cajun....Just don't over cook. They should be soft but not mushy. Serve with rice or quinoa for more protein. (In case you can't tell, I LOVE lentils)

Did you drop it on the floor? No? Then it's "clean". Go for it.

Brussel's sprouts. I can eat them roasted if pressed but wouldn't ever eat them voluntarily. Oysters. No. Just no. Beef tongue. Pigs feet. Cilantro tastes like stinkbugs smell. That's about it. I like most anything

Make sure you are getting enough water and enough vitamin d. I feel tired, sick and generally crappy when I get even a little dehydrated. Vitamin D deficiency can mimic symptoms of depression and you feel more tired. If it is an option, see your Dr to rule out any underlying physical cause for your fatigue.

Don't eat grain. Don't eat gluten. Don't eat dairy. Don't eat sugar. Fat is bad for you. Dont eat after 6pm. Or my personal favorite, don't eat fruit because it has too much sugar. Basically any "diet" that someone has written a book about and is making money from. Seriously, just eat food. Track it accurately and move as…

Back to OP, Depends, do you already eat and enjoy vegetarian foods? If not, going straight into it might not be the best way. Start with one no meat day a week and go from there. I was mostly vegetarian for about 6 mo (meanng, if someone else cooked and meat was a flavoring in something I would eat it anyway) . I did lose…

Thanks for the clarification.

"Healthy but broke". The story of my life. My lifesavers are, beans of all sorts (dry, much cheaper than canned, plus you control the amount of sodium) and lentils. Brown rice (more expensive than white but still cheap and more nutritious). Quinoa (again more expensive than white rice but a little makes a lot and its…

Smoothies. Add peanut butter and/or protein powder ( or powdered peanut butter ). Add tofu to cream soups. Lots of beans and veggies in a soup, pureed. This is the first time in .... 12 years? that I haven't given anything up for lent. Bless you for your willingness to sacrifice, but don't let your health suffer.

If you find one, pass it along. I need to find something to do but I need something low impact and preferably that I can do at home in a small space. Yoga sounds doable, although I haven't tried it yet.

You can add me too. I'm just starting out. You can help keep me accountable

Dehydration can do it for me. Make sure you drink enough water (might be more than think)
