  • I'm just checking in to see how everyone is doing, and to make sure the thread doesn't drop to the bottom. Less than a week ago, I was covering plants because of late freeze warnings. Now, we're getting su mer weather. gotta live WI, where I. a week you. an go from winter to summer mer and no spring. ;-)
  • I'm a really fast eater as well. My boyfriend can always tell when I'm getting full because I start slowing down, so the speed apparently decreases as I go along. Whe. eating with friends, I'll finish my food, and will knowingly be full, but I than start to take more bites; out of boredom and/or, it still looks good. I do…
  • The other day, I tried twice to write something, but the app in the tablet erased everything and I got frustrated. The last two weeks have definitely been a roller coaster of successes and learning experiences. Week one was one of those weeks where things were looking good. On Tuesday, I did my first open water swim. I…
  • Good luck Dukare. You got this, and it will go great. If not, it's just one more thing to make you stronger. :-)
  • Welcome to those that just started posting (I'm on my tablet and don't know how to use the feature to mention/list people. Thus is a great group and I'm glad everyone starred it. There are days been it's quiet, but that doesn't mean it's hone silent; it just means it happens to be at a busy time when people don't have a…
  • I understand the weather issue. we took my bike off the trainer last night, excited to ride. Today is too wet/cold/gloomy for our first bike ride of the year, so to the gym I go. This week, not only did we increase the number of different fruits/veggies, there were more veggies than fruits. We're still about 10 varieties…
  • Thanks. I don't mind if the heart rate is accurate or not, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to do something wrong with the watch. I know the popular thing to do is keep track of heart rate, but it'd be nice if Garmin would give you the option to turn it off for a chosen activity.
  • Thanks for the info. On Thursdays, after my swim, I use a pool belt and do pool running. For that, I'm not sure if I use a run or pool swim activity since a hybrid of both? I wasn't sure if there's a reason HR is shut off for the pool.
  • Djproulx, Thanks for the info. I was doing yoga for a while and I definitely need to get back into it. Before Covid, I was active in other things ((zumba, yoga, bootcamp, etc.). I then was mostly down to bike trainer and running and occasionally yoga and strength. I know Covid is not an excuse because I could have done…
  • My gym now has personal cleaning bottles and towels. I would love it if they keep that going. It was always frustrating to search for th few that were scattered around and more often than not, the towels were so disgusting you most like were spreading more germs than killing them.
  • I got 20 different fruits and Vegetables. Although I didn't get to 35, I did add in more fruits and a few extra vegetables. I like the challenge, or at least it's made us think more of adding fruitx/vegetables rather than than restricting things.
  • Thanks. I was st the specialty store last night and didn't find anything comfortable. I did talk to my PT because the most comfortable shoes were the completely flat ones, with a dropped heal which can cause Achilles/calf issues. She said she'd be willing to work with me to gradually break them in if that's truly what I…
  • I just found a website that has a full list of fruits and veggies. It also bas recipes and stories (one gives ideas on how to use some leftover parts that we'd typically throw away. https://fruitsandveggies.org/fruits-and-veggies/#ingredient-list-s
  • I don't weigh myself because I know I am the type of person that would obsess and cry and self Saratoga. I try to go more by clothes fit and how I feel. I think I have noticed that I feel my slimmest around my period, which is a nice offset from the cramps, but it'd be nice to have that feeling around a different day. I am…
  • Does anyone have flat feet and supination? I know it's rare, butI have that. If so what running shoes do you run in? I made it to physical therapy and had my leg/gait checked out. My summary of that is my hip is tight so it fights that by going the opposite direction of where it should be and my *kitten* (technically…
  • I think I will need to just write them down on a list. I saw a package at the grocery store hat had multiple vegetables cut up for roasting. We decided it 2oulc make more sense to buy the ingredients and cut them up ourselves, since it said may contain. We are also thinking about getting a membership to Imperfect Foods. We…
  • Welcome to the group; it's a great group. I am starting to ramp up my fitness/nutrition. We bought two fruits this evening that we typically don't have. On my drive back to WI the other day, WPR was hosting two physical therapists. They mentioned there was a study/article that said you should be eating at least 35…
  • What's a TKR runner?
  • I put my running clothes on instead of regular clothes so I could/would run at lunchtime because I knew I'd be busy after work and not get to it.
  • Hi Rashmi411. Welcome back and I am sorry things have been going rough. Thanks for starting the group; it has been going well and everyone has been very supportive.
  • LoveyChar: Good luck on the remainder of your training and the race. Is this your first one and/or the first one since the pandemic? We tried a virtual type one (it was more of a challenge), but it just didn't have the same feel; I love the traditional race atmosphere.
  • DancingMoosie: Have you tried Brooks Adrenaline? I used to run in the Wave Inspire, but then they got too narrow for me. I used to love the ASICS Kinsei, but they then narrowed the toe too much and stopped making them. Neffy 1989: That's awesome that you were able to run 4 minutes, progress is progress and it's a start.…
  • Thanks for sharing all of this. I just turned 40 and get lectures from my sister (who's in her midfifties) about how things are going to change, she keeps bringing up how your stomach can't handle foods like it used to and that I need to be using (expensive?) Skin cream and so forth. I am convinced the food issues are…
  • Sorry to hear tech support couldn't help, but on the bright side, watches have made a lot of new features. I have the Vivoactive 3, but I don't use all the features. It's mainly their to take thinking out of my workouts/training (it tells me when it 's time to do something new and/or when I'm not in compliance of my…
  • I bought a pool belt to help me run without the impact. I have an appointment later this month for a run analysis/PT at the UW, unless cancelations come up and I can get in earlier. Has anyone had luck with this?
  • Suzanne, How long have you had your Garmin? I was recently having issues with mine (it was more of the software of the watch). After working with customer service for a while, they couldn't resolve it, but replaced the watch. I did get a refurbished one, and my watch was just over a year, so if it's been somewhat…
  • the 1x1x post. I don't know how nor the energy to learn to find/post such images.
  • No one seems to have checked in. I hope everyone is doing well.
  • Great job; at least from the photos, you can tell the improvement in disposition (not caring to determined). I typically don't make comments like that, but the change just really stands out to me. It might me the facial expressions. Anyway, great job.
  • DuPage, that's great to hear the baby is going to be starting to get weaned 9c the medivine; what a relief. And getting outside definitely helps the mind and body. We're at the cycle time of year between old and hot, to I think we've rounded the corner of shoveable snow. On a different note ; has anyone been experiencing…
