Today someone asked me, "what's shakin bacon?" I am sure there is a great response to that other than what I said (I'm sorry, I know there's a correct answer to that, but I just don't lnow what it is). I would live to hear ideas on a great response to that. I'm sure I will come up with one, ling after the posts have…

Keep going at it; your success has been keeping up the diary and reflections daily. That's a huge step and mental health is just as important as the physical. And. On top of that, you've had way more beliw maintenance daysnthan over days. My struggle is also with eating, especially when stressed. The keybis to be aware of…

Here's to a better dsy ahead. :-)

Sorry this is going on. Mental health is just as important as physical health, and if you need to priortize that some, that's okay. In the end, even just being aware is a good point. And, later, when you're in a better place, you can maybe even learn from al of this. Wishing you well with work and life.

Great idea for a topic. As someone that has a difficult time relaxing, I can definitely use the humor motivation. :-)

Thank you for continuing to post and being open/honest. I have been struggling a lot lately, and it's nice to lnow that others do as well and are continuing to move forward. March tends to be a little harder. We have two birthdays in the hiuse and Nowruz. We live Nowruz, but having chocolate/sweets readily available, and…

Our the others regulars? I used to belong to a run/walk group and there were usually about 4 of us that would come every week. I miss it because it turned into therapy both mentally/physically. It was a great release.

***Switch out tires/bikes onbthe trainer. ***Set alarm to get up from sitting at the computer. ***Drink water/tea before snacking when I get the urge to snack.

You're not offending me and I appreciate that book recommendation; we will have to look into it. One thing that has made it difficult is that the produce quality In our grocery store has declined so much; especially during winter. I used to live broccoli steamed, but now it just crosses me out (it's not as fresh as in the…

I liked that the program introduces a nea veggie each day with recipes and info about it; so something new each day, but without the extra work/time of researching all of it.

Lana, Your beach picture is much more inviting/motivating than our cold, dark, misty day in WI.

1) Prepare my bike for the bike trainer 2) No phone/tablet game

Hi. I'm trying to start up again. Since completing my first HalfIronman (something I never thought I'd be able to do), I've been struggling with being inconsistent in my workouts and eating. I do not want to lose all that hard work and I do feel much happier when I'm healthy and fit.

Having the attitude that it's a process and not expecting perfect is a huge advantage. Another plus going into this is that we've seen results before and know we can do this. We also have hindsight and can evaluate what happened when we started slipping up so we can have plans in place.

Hi Sean, welcome to the chat. I also am struggling with finding my gym routine. I told my boyfriend I am contemplating signing up for another race (but we agreed no long distance trip next year). I'm also trying to think of a way to turn a fitness routine in a game; make a game board and cross things off as I complete a…

I'm trying to get this thread back up; I really miss it. After completing a large race earlier this month, I tore up the bottom of my foot and was out of activity for a few weeks. I'm starting to get back to working out now, but I am struggling with my eating. I would like to get back to eating more vegetables and working…

Does anyone have tips to relax while focusing on cadence/form? If I need to run in the house or a quick distance, I am loose and light on my feet. Once I'm in my running gear and start a workout, I become very rigid, especially when focusing on form/cadence. When I do start to become more relaxed, I start to lose my…

Title Nine; the bras/brands they sell are a little on the spendy side, but they last. They also rate their bras with dumbbells (the more dumbbells, the better support).

I went to add you as a friend, but I have no idea how to do that. I can relate to most of the items on your list, with the exception of 1 or 2, I don't log my food either. I typically log-in daily for the updates/connection/motivation. I think I tend to do better when looking at the bigger picture.

I like this thread and I'm trying to people to come back and/or join. I'm Lori. I struggle with grazing and moving around more in the day. I work from home in WI, so some days are a struggle to push myself out of the house. I've been more consistent with getting to the gym in the mornings before work, and the evenings…

I'm trying to check back I. with the group; no one has posted in nearly a month. Angelexperiment: I was trying to say I agree/understand your struggle. I've also been aging difficulties with the snacking and going back for seconds. I've been trying to look at the root cause, but am still working on that.

I'm checking in to see how people are doing. I'm still struggling with eating more than I should. I 've been meaning to make some air popped popcorn, but haven't done so. I recently got a cup of popcorn seeds from the food pantry garden I volunteer at. I can't wait to try it out; especially knowing I had a part in…

Welcome to the group. I can help with motivation/support, unless it involves technology. :-)

By the way, I was still eating vegetables during the mo th, but not nearly enough.

It's been a while since anyone has written on here so I thought I'd check in. Today is the first day back on to getting more serious again. I had taken a month off after my race so the I could try to re-center. I didn't go totally out of control, but it is enough for me to realize how I need more focus, and need to also…

Welcome everyone to the group. It's very supportive.

My boyfriend was saying I should start some blog or something about the experience and have others share because people (or at least I do) tend to feel very alone, even though I have seen others like that. I was fortunate that I made it through the swim and rode my back in. I'm not sure how to start it and/or title it…

I had my first attempt at completing the WI HalfIronman (any half for that matter.) I got a DNF for not completing the bike on time. I'm still grieving, but I'm trying to learn from it so I can try it again and complete it. To look at the bright side (I guess that's my term for the Glad Game in Pollyanna); although the…

Since there hasn't been any activity for a while, I thought I'd post something on here to keep it fresh and in people's minds.:-) This week has been a real struggle for me (return policy on PTO if life got in the way and you couldn't enjoy it?) Anyway, I had my dentist appointment today. Everything is good and so are my…

Hi nycirl2018, Welcome to the group; everyone has been very supportive and very understanding. Just remember to take it one day at a time and make small changes. If you have small victories or need to work through something, feel free to bring it to the group. :-) You got this.
