Welcome aboard. It took me two years to reach my goal and it was worth every minute.

Welcome. First of all unless you are extremely short you aren't particularly overweight. So that means that it will take time and alot of patience to lose 10 lbs. Since you have been doing this for 2 years I am going to assume you are doing something that is causing you to maintain your current weight. The only thing that…

My heart goes out to you. I know how frustrating it is to do something as drastic as surgery and still not get to your goal. I had a lapband (since removed due to complications) and it didn't help me at all. I finally lost the weight and have maintianed for a couple of years. What I suggest is forget the drastic measures.…

I quit sugar sweetened candy a while ago. I almost never eat it anymore because I can't control it but I buy sugar free candy. If you aren't adverse to artificial sweetners I would recommend it. I have a brand of sugarless chocolate that I love (Ross) and I allow myself one square a day. With no sugar in it I find I don't…

It all depends on the size of the cheat. As others have said the average is what really matters. I used to have a cheat meal once every 3 to 5 weeks. In the end I usually finished the day at maintenance calories and I lost without too much trouble but if you have a huge meal or day once a week that can ruin your progress.…

Thank you for sharing. It takes alot of courage. <3

My only comment is that I think you need to give yourself more credit. In my experience and understanding appetite suppressants only work for a short time. After that your body adjusts. So it sounds to me like the last 8 months or more has really been up to your hard work. If you feel you can continue doing what you are…

Built bars. You have to order them online. You will find they are very different. The center is sort of like turkish delight, very sticky. I love them but at first it was a bit of a shock as they aren't as sweet as expected.

Most of my life I was obese. I finally lost 100 lbs and my husband has gained probably about 50. He never ever made me feel bad for being big and I will never ever make him feel bad. I love him and although I worry about his health he is well aware of the fact he's carrying too much. It's his business. We've been married…

The one that has surprised me the most was adding a low calorie protein bar. I generally had a piece of fruit between lunch and dinner but have been substituting with a low cal (110 cal) protein bar and that crazy hunger I was experiencing has gone away. I guess I wasn't getting enough protein daily.

Welcome back lots of us on here in our 60's. Many of us reached our goal too which hopefully is encouraging to you.

I'd try some beano to see if it helps ease the gas. Might try it at home just in case...

Sadly no one makes real Eggnog anymore. I miss it and detest the stuff in the carton. Doesn't taste anything like what we used to make.

I love spiralilzed Zuchinni with a meat sauce (to be honest I now prefer it). If I'm doing a creamy sauce I spiralize carrots. If it's a pasta dish that I would normally use egg noodles in I will use spiralized carrot in a fettuccini shape and add half noodles. There are alot of ways to satisfy the craving. Is it the same?…

That's a curious observation. I also take magnesium every night before bed and have done so for a few years. I started taking it because of constipation. The last year or so I can't sleep and have anxiety and depression. I may quit taking it for a while to see if that makes any difference but my doctor also just told me…

My son has a vascular ganglion cyst on his wrist. He had it removed and it has returned. I don't know if the two are related or not.

Well I have gone through similar issues and everyone told me I was eating more than I thought I was so I decided to cut back even more. Unless that takes you below the healthy range (1200 for women or 1500 for men). Either way you either have a slower metabolism or you are eating more than you think. The only answer is to…

What I meant was you won't lose weight just because you walk if you eat more because you walked thereby ending up at the same daily intake once the extra you ate offsets what you burned. In other words if I eat at maintenance then walk and earn 200 calories but eat an extra 200 calories because I walked I still end up at…

@NovusDies I had the same experience as you. It took me till I was 59 to realize that slow and steady wins the race. Even when I lost weight fast I always ended up gaining it back because I hadn't learned how to maintain. Where losing weight is concerned I think the battle is more than getting to a goal it's about staying…

From the beginning of my journey walking has been the exercise I do consistently. I lost 100 lbs. However I also dropped my calories significantly. Now at goal weight 5 - 6 miles/day gives me an extra 200 or so calories. As you can see that's easy to wipe out. I do find it reduces appetite some and also helps lower stress.…

What an amazing transformation! You look wonderful. Well done. Just posting here you are likely helping others who feel hopeless.

I went through something similar. I seemed to be hungry all the time and couldn't seem to get a handle on it. I had gained 6 lbs on holiday and couldn't get them off which depressed me and also made me crazy worried that I was backsliding. Then I stumbled on a thread on here about protein bars. I started using one a day…

Congratulations! You look awesome.

I suffered from headaches most of my life but found two main contributers which may or may not have anything to do with what you are experiencing. The main cause for me which had me suffering crushing headaches for half my life was a low thyroid. Once that was fixed they went away until a couple years ago when they came…

Because fast weight loss is usually not sustainable. That's because you can't keep it up long enough to lose the weight. Most people burn out after a month or two. Also 1200 calories is the lowest that is safe for a woman so that might not even be the 1000 calorie a day deficit that is required to lose 2 pounds a week. At…

Also that wrap is full of calories. If you want a wrap use a corn tortilla to cut the calories dramatically. I buy corn tortillas that are 50 calories each. I spray with pam and warm in a fry pan before filling. If you add an egg with extra whites scrambled with some spinach, onions and peppers you get a much lower calorie…

Absolutely I love it when someone comments! I am amazed at how many people don't like it. I've got to be more careful about commenting, lol. It makes me feel so good to be normal now that when someone comments I am encouraged to keep it off. If it's someone I don't know well I just smile and say thanks but if someone asks…

I can't imagine the pain you are feeling right now. You deserve to be happy and healthy. Take your time and set reasonable goals. Losing 1 pound a week would probably be the safest. Let MFP set your calorie goal and you need to eat all of the calories it assigns you. This will be a learning curve for someone who has…
