Wait, wait, wait, wait... hold up. There's Diet Vernor's and I didn't know about it? Well. I'm going shopping this weekend.

Loquats. All day, every day, if I could actually find the darn things on sale. *sigh*

So apparently Planters is bringing back Cheez Balls and Cheez Curls starting on Sunday, via Walmart and Amazon to start and others later. It's a limited release, but I'll probably grab some for nostalgia's sake if nothing else. It was my snack of choice at movie theaters as a kid (Cheese Balls and mini Baby Ruths were the…

Have you had blood tests for any vitamin deficiencies? I had massive brain fog when I had a major Vit D deficiency, and there are other deficiencies that could also cause BF. But also get hormonal levels checked, as has been suggested. Even if you're taking a medication, that doesn't necessarily mean your levels are in the…

It is just a publicity move, thankfully. IHOB sounds like the person saying it has a cold or something.

Duh. Burger KING. What more evidence do you need??

@AnnPT77 & @MikePfirrman Thank you both so much! I was planning on starting out nice and slow. Luckily I have a wall-length mirror that I can plunk the rowing machine in front of to work on my form, I just wasn't sure what the form should look like. I'll watch the video and take your advice under... um, well, advisement. I…

Well, this is timely. I've been struggling with a heel issue (inflammation of the Achilles--sorta) which has greatly impacted my walking time. It's getting better slowly, but I've been trying to find an alternate means to perform cardio exercise. I have a rower and was actually going to start using it as the replacement…

When I was recovering from a fairly major medical procedure and decided to splurge on my food (since I wouldn't be able to cook for a while), I got Freshly meals. I was incredibly pleased with them, and they have enough change in their menus that it has a good variety most of the time. The food was, for the most part,…

Not as much as actually reducing portions in their meals would. I've gotten quite fond of some local cafes/restaurants that serve *gasp* properly portioned meals for a reasonable price. I just wish that mentality would spread to the chain restaurants that I used to love. Sometimes I just want a reasonable amount of chain…

FIFY, since the Infinity Gauntlet is involved.

@hgycta Oh, wow, thanks for the tip, I've never heard of this company, but I really need to check them out since I am a sad sack who likes to eat frozen entrees. :p @whitpauly I went to the food maker's website, and it looks like the stock varies quite a lot between stores, even in the same chain. Only one Target near me…

Here's an interesting article on the matter written in 2016. It says the UN projection is that global population will reach 11 billion by 2100, and predictions on sustainability are pretty much all a matter of conjecture, scientific speculation and statistics because it's unprecedented. The article is good in that it links…

What did that cauliflower ever do to you??

Except in my case, the wrist band reported an excess of steps, not noncaptured steps (though I can see that I didn't specify that. Oops). It was reporting far MORE steps than my clip-on, which made me not trust the data at all because I hadn't suddenly increased my activity. I value relative consistency over absolute…

I started with a clip-on and used it for well over two years, but it was dying (had to constantly reset the sync to my phone, battery changes were needed more frequently, etc) so I looked for a new one. By that time, all the clip-ons seemed to be off the market, but I found an aftermarket company that could convert the…

I specifically got the Vivofit 3 when I had to replace my tracker because I could also get a clip-on holder for it rather than use the wrist band. I compared a clip-on with a wrist tracker, and the numbers were so different, I just can't bring myself to trust wrist trackers. I don't see them as accurate for my personal use.

I am a cheap *kitten*, so what I do is buy the party size bags, then one night after I finished eating a nice dinner (so i'm less hungry when I do it), I portion them out with little snack packs into 1oz portions. That seems to work to satisfy my cravings, control my portions, and save me a wee bit of money than buying…

I thought Cheetos were my downfall until I deliberately bought only 1oz packages. Found out that 1oz is all i really need to fulfill my Cheetos craving, and that everything else is just habit. So I vote for maybe it being a packaging/pre-portioned thing.

I've found this to be a really good explanation as to why we need to eat back exercise calories, tailored to the MFP experience, with thanks to @SideSteel for the awesome video. Exercise calories - do I eat these? A video explanation (Can't embed video at the moment, sorry!) (Video originally posted in the MFP forums here…

Did someone say cake?? And it's got fruit, so it's healthy! ;)

I would also recommend more protein at breakfast somehow. The two things that come to mind for me are greek yogurt and protein bars. Note that people recommend greek yogurt over non-greek yogurt because it has more protein. If you can't abide those, then another thing I'd recommend is low fat cottage cheese with some nuts…

*blink blink* I'll have to try that! I have some cottage cheese to use up, and that's a lovely mix of macros there. Thanks!

I read the first few GOT books before I just lost interest (for a variety of reasons). I tried to watch the TV show, but for whatever reason I never got into it despite the fact I truly loved some of the cast. I'd rather spend my screen time writing than reading or watching these days, honestly. As for making time to…

For breakfast, I always have the same thing: a nutrition shake and a protein bar. The shake I make with a shaker bottle, and the protein bar is easily weighed and eaten on the go. It helps me hit my macros and keeps me satiated with about 30-40g of protein, and I don't have to cook anything, which fits into my morning…

Also, I would like to add that the leaves of the stevia plant (and yes, it's a plant) have been used for sweetening in South America for over 1500 years. Now, the powder form and how it's extracted/used in food, that's relatively recent, but even then, they've been using it for decades in Japan. Just because it's…

Speaking of things that are scary... Bleh. That smacks of the Prosperity Gospel in action.

For the record, she was completely kidding. On the contrary, she's been very open about discussing her health issues as well as her mother's health issues in the past. However, she also paraphrased Paul Ryan (the US Speaker of the House) in her last sentence, and he wasn't kidding. That's the part that's REALLY scary.

That's exactly how I track with my activity tracker, too. I walk ~10k steps most days, but sometimes I walk as many as 16k and sometimes I just let it go at 3k (such as on rest days). It took me a while to trust the numbers given to me by my tracker (since I'm still not sure how Jawbone calculates them), and I still tend…
