My firbit overestimated my burns by about 300-400cals per day which is more than my deficit. And that was with me only walking. I think the reason was that my heart rate is higher. I was slowly gaining so I dumped it after several months.

Maybe you don't realise that the entries in the database are made by other users. So even if MFP adds a starch category, how would you or other people know the starch content of foods so that you can enter it in the database?

Just use common sense and second grade arithmetic. 35lbs. 18 weeks. 35÷18=2 (rounded). On average.
-
There are about 18 weeks since the beginning of April. You lost 35lbs. Therefore you lost at around 2lbs per week. Which is quite a rapid loss.

I eat mine on the day I make them. Also I've always eaten all of them because mine are very accurate. All my activity is from intentional walking or exercise. Otherwise I'm completely sedentiary - as in just sitting all day. My activity varies wildly - from completely sedentiray to 18 000 steps. If I burn a lot of calories…

20lbs in 30 days means 0.7lbs per day. 0.7lbs × 3500cal per lbs = 2300cal To burn 2300cal every day I need to run for 6 hours streight. Every day. Good luck! P.S. No, not possible.

Me again. I know I'm getting annoying by now but thought I'd share another piece of experience. Stop calling your drug addiction 'a habit'. It is not a bad habit. It is a very serious condition which affects your brain and ability to reason (you'd rather light up a ciggy than live another year or save your legs from being…
-
But it doesn't. You feel like it does but in fact it creates the stress. When you start craving your next cig you get anxious even if you don't realise it is because of the nicotine. And then you need to light up to alleviate that anxiety. But it is only there because of your previous cig. Please make another attempt to…

I wake up stiff lately and I don't know why. I'm 37 and I work out at a moderate level. For me it passes in about quater of an hour but still it is very noticeable when I get ot of bed. Getting old perhaps?
-
Smoking kills. Reconsider your decission to put it last. While it may help you with the other changes, you might not be alive long enough to enjoy them. Yes, it will be the hardest one as it is a very serious drug addiction. It is the hardest thing I've done in my life and I'm a mother and have a masters degree in…

Also you can gain water weight for a vatiety of other reasons. Your body is made mostly of water and it uses water for many bodily functions. Your water will fluctuate all the time. Don't expect your morning weight to be a result of what you ate or drank or did the day before. Only the overall trend after a long time will…

I gained 6lbs in 3 weeks (not water, just fat) by stuffing myself with waffels and biscuits and cakes everyday while visiting my mum. It was raining the whole time so I stayed in and ate. I don't overrestrict like kommodevaran suggested. Before thay it took me 1 year to lose these 6lbs as I can barely sustain 50-100 cal…

You need to learn how to eat for when you reach your goal. Getting ready meals planned by someone else will not let you do this and you risk regaining.
-
Readjust your deficit and constraints so that it doesn't feel like a wagon. Don't try to follow perfectly some rigid plan. Just make some weekly deficit and you'll lose. No need for hopping on or off. Take it easy. You don't need inspiration.
-
People who don't count calories (and maintain a healthy weight) also eat below 1200 from time to time. This is completely normal. The important thing is not to do it on a regular basis. Watch your weekly average.

I track my gym sessions in a memo folder on my phone. I put a cardio entry in MFP for the calories.
-
I would probably be the same. To combat this I always keep busy with something engaging (more so than the TV - I love to study for example, anything I mean, so I can just start a free online course on some topic if I have nothing to do) and I never keep treats at home which I don't want to eat (if they are my son's then I…

You seem a bit confused. Everything has mass including water. The way to refer to the amount of mass while on Earth is through its weight (weight is the force exerted on the mass by the Earth). Talking about your mass is the same as talking about your weight (colloquially). Talking about your fat IS NOT the same as talking…

The reason cardio is said to prevent gains is because if you're not counting calories and you don't increase your intake when you start doing cardio, then it will put you in a deficit which would, of course, prevent gains. For the same reason added sugar is said to lead to weight gain - if you don't count calories and…

That's the same thing. Maybe you meant to say "fat goes up or weight goes up" as these are indeed two different things. The number on the scales however IS the weight. OP's weight did go up, no semantics there. OP, your muscles retain water while reparing that is why your weight went up.
-
Weight loss is not the same as fat loss. Your fat loss might be linear if you deficit is steady but your weight fluctuates due to the water which make 70% of your body.
-
No. 1lbs fat = 3500cal. 3500cal ÷ 7 days = 500cal/day. This is the deficit a person needs to make to lose 1lbs per week. So for a TDEE of 1800 they need to eat 1300 per day.
-
I know it is 1550 from 3 years of meticulous tracking (yes, I use a scale) and long spreadsheets of data (I'm a scientist). How is 2-3 hours every day intentional fast pace walking not "working for it"? I feel kind of offended here with your implication. I put a lot of effort. I consider myself active too. Nevermind…

How are everyones calories so high :( I'm 5'7, 139lbs and 38yo and my sedentiary is 1550cal. Currently I maintain at around 1900 but that is with 12000 steps of intentional walking which takes me around 2.5 to 3 hours a day to do and when my vacation is over I won't be able to sustain for lack of time. This angers me so…

I've never cheated because I never felt the need to be on a deficit every single day for months or whatever. I eat at a deficit from time to time, when it doesn't bother me too much, and at maintanance or over from time to time when my apetite is bigger or there are occasions. I lose slowly and allow myself to gain a…

Me too. 5k would be just from the cashew nuts! I hate the junk food label. I eat everything. I love fruit and veg and I also love icecream, cakes, sweets etc.

Thanks, sadly I can't estimate the time as I was taking rests but I'll keep the link for the future, seems useful.

I didn't go through all replies but this seems to be POTS. I have POTS and my pulse more than doubles when I'm standing and walking. I was diagnosed and prescribed a beta blocker which saved the day.
-
I was 17 when I was 56kg. I'm 37 now (so 20 years ago) and have 6kg more to lose. But I've been losing the same 2kg for the past year and a half.

I'm supposed to eat 8 grams of salt per day for low BP. Thats a lot so I just put as much salt as possible on all my food.
