  • I think it is in fact a bit unusual. Especially if you are aiming for a 2lbs a week. Then your daily deficit is 1000calories which is quite substantial. What is usual is for you to lose more than 2lbs the first week because of all the water and stomach contents drop due to the abrupt change. Have you started strength…
  • Mine is particularly dumb and will prob get woos  I started to jog (still training, can't do a full run) because I feel half a person because I can't jog.
  • Mindfulness meditation helps me.
  • Wow that thread has been an eye opener for me. I've always complained here how small my TDEE is compared to people with similar stats and amount of exercise as me. Now I see these people posting here and it is their NEAT that made it so big. I don't do any of those things listed. And to be fair I don't feel like I want to…
  • • Your total expended calories in Apple watch are your BMR plus your burns from detected movement (13k steps in your case). • Your total expended calories here in MFP are your BMR plus your burns from the activity level which you've set up for yourself (sedentiary includes up to 5k steps, lightly activive a bit more and so…
  • To add to my post above: This thing in the photo has happened three times to me since then. I'm currently going through a forth one. I know from experience my weight is going to drop eventually in a big whoosh. But it hasn't for 7 weeks yet again and it is very upsetting and annoying. So just hang in there.
  • That happens to me regularly. I posted this today in another thread here. I'm attaching a picture of my weight data in Libra (in kgs). At the beginning of August last year I started regular strength training (more than 4 times a week) and stopped completely at the end of September. I was on a deficit the whole time but my…
  • I would not pay 200 for something to log my weight in an app. Logging my weight personally in Libra and watching the trend change is in fact my favourite part.
  • Sodium is not unhealthy for healthy individuals. It is in fact unhealthy to eat very low sodium if you are otherwise healthy. It is only bad for people with hypertension. I have low blood pressure and higher sodium is healthier for me than lower sodium. Why do you try to eat low sodium if I might ask?
  • People who naturally maintain a healthy weight without counting eat more on some days and less on others. I wouldn't think much of what you did last week. I'd just go on a deficit for several days.
  • I've strated (and subsequently stopped for various reasons) regular strength training three times in the past 2 years. All three times my weight loss gets stalled by 6-7 weeks. Usually I stop (for various health reasons, 2 out of the 3 times I cracked my back and then had to spend 2 weeks on bedrest...) and all the weight…
  • Frozen is usually healthier because it is usually picked in season and frozen almost immediately after picking. I use frozen/refrigerated because that makes my smoothies thicker. Particularly cold bananas make much thicker shakes than room temp ones.

  • Daily. I use Libra app.
  • I have POTS and very low bp. The POTS meds lower it even further - it usually is 80-60. But I feel fine in fact. I eat a lot of salt but for some reason all my experiments to eat even more salt on occasion have resulted in absolutely no change for my bp. I don't know why. I keep eating it because I like very salty food.…
  • Yes, it happens not just to anyone else but to everyone else. Your body is made mostly of water and it uses it for most of its functions. As a result its amount in the body fluctuates as reflected in your weight. When people say "weightloss is not linear" they mean exactly that - weightloss. They don't mean fatloss which…
  • That is quite smart. Let's hope these people who just arrive and haven't formed an oppinion yet also do that.
  • What helps me reduce my anxiety and depression and makes me feel grounded is studying. Not necessarily in my area of research but anything really. I love studying and I've noticed that people often would never consider studying as something they could do in their free time unless thay have to do it. Maybe it is an aquired…
  • You are unnecessary torturing yourself is what you're doing. Eat normal varied food at a deficit (using a food scale) and be patient. As in 'months' patient. You don't need to walk on your hands to lose weight.
  • I foresee an end to this thread.
  • This is what I was going to say. If you find it difficult "starting" then you've made it too different and complicated than your "normal" life. Just make a small deficit from time to time is all you need to do to lose weight.
  • When I started using the elliptical I could barely survive 5 minutes.
  • What the others above said plus depends for how long you've been doing it. If it's just several days on 1200, then that's normal. But your body will eventually want to balance out so you will get hungry for more than 1200. People who maintain and don't count also eat sometimes a little too little and sometimes a litter…
  • Salt might affect weight loss. But you're interested in fat loss and it's not affected by salt. Unless you have high blood pressure you can eat as much salt as you like. If you have low blood pressure you should eat even more salt.
  • Happens all the time. Don't pay much attention to it. Just water flushing out. And maybe poo.
  • Some yes. But most have it open for their friends.
  • I agree you need to take responsibility. You are an adult person. Bars don't jump into your mouth. You choose to eat them. The sooner you realise you have the control the sooner things will start working for you.
  • If your husband would leave you for your weight I would question why you are with him. 😉
  • You can lose 1kg per week if you are above 130-150kg. Otherwise it is unreasonable.
  • I'm 5'7 and at 139lbs I have fat on my stomach. At 132lbs my stomach is completely flat (not after a meal obviously). I was 132 several months ago and the sight was very pleasant. Then I gained 7lbs and now I have a hoop of fat. I'm pear shaped however and almost all my fat is in my lower half. So losing a few lbs is the…
  • I like my bran cereal. It has very high fibre content and I find it yummy.
