  • Mine is 80/60 but I feel fine. I'm supposed to eat A LOT of salt for that.

  • I have sciatica too. Walking.
  • Means you are hydreted. Why do you care about the scale number if you already know it is water? Why is it so important that you weigh less? Are you going to compete in a sport that you need a specific weight? I thought you wanted to lose fat.
  • I'm originally from a country where the people eat a Mediterranean diet. There you can't see even one person as obese as the people I see everyday on the streets here in the UK. People would turn their heads if they saw someone as obese as that and think they are probably ill to be as fat. Just eat more veggies and…
  • Only oily fish should be eaten no more than 4 times a week for the general population. White fish can be eaten as much as you want. https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/eat-well/fish-and-shellfish-nutrition/
  • I wonder if you drank red wine vinegar instead if you'd have lost the same amount. (I don't really)
  • When I was quitting smoking and I got an anxiety attack or got into depression I got strong urges to light up. I didn't however because I realised that once I've finished that cigarette I will feel even more anxious or depressed becase of what I'd just done. So I realised I would only increase my anxiety or depression with…
  • No need. Just google it in scholar.google.com instead of streight google.
  • Didn't lose weight. I don't know why. Surprisingly I did not feel hunger! All I think I did during sedation is thanking like 100 times one of the nurses for being so good to me and comforting me. (She was actually really nice, holding my hand the whole time. I was in a lot of pain.) I get like that when under sedation or…
  • Losing fat might reduce it a bit (or a bit more if you carry luckier genes). Working out will not on its own. What you envision as a "toned" leg is a leg with a low fat to muscle ratio (and less cellulite I suppose).
  • Wow really?! I used to fidget like mad. That could also add to me being always slim. I taught myself out of it so I guess I get to eat less now. Ah well...
  • That's really interesting. I'll deffinitely do more research in caffeine. I'm really glad you've recovered!
  • That was very insightful, thanks @AnnPT77. In response I think what might contribute to my lower than average burns (before exercise) is that • I take a beta-blocker • I have a lower than average muscle mass due to many years (more than 5) of close to bed rest state because of health issues • I have a bad case of POTS so…
  • Hm, looking at @sarahbums photo I wondered if the fact that I don't take any caffeine what-so-ever (I get very unwell even after decaf :( ) has any effect on my low metabolism. @AnnPT77 and @sarahbums, how much coffee (caffeinated drinks) do you drink on average? Asking you because both of you report higher than average…
  • Our body's hunger and fullness cues developed when food was scarce and we were spending all our time looking for food and the most caloric of it too thousands of years ago. I wouldn't trust them with my life.
  • It has no difference so choose the one that is easier for you to keep with.
  • I completely avoid foods which I can't have just one portion of. However every now and then I skip a meal or two and allow myself to go a bit above maintanance in favour of several portions of the food in question. Like 5 doughnuts with cocoa! Yum! If I didn't do that I'd be very unhappy and frustrated. But I have to do it…
  • I have for a couple of years and it only works after you can average it over a month or two. Since you are only on day 2 you will soon be unpleasantly surprised that your day to day weight goes up and down unpredictably and has no relation to your intake. This is because your body is made mostly of water and it is used for…
  • I have severe PMS and period pains lately (including a trip to the A&E where I was given opioid injections for the pain) and my gynecologyst prescribed the following treatment: 1x500mg Naproxen every 12 hours (prescription NSAID in the UK) 2x10mg hyoscine 4 times a day (over the counter in the UK) 2x500mg paracetamol 4…
  • Yep, that's me. I've set my maintanance manually because it is 200cals below MFP sedentiary. But when I don't walk or work out purposfully (both of which I log and eat back) I sit all day long on my bum. Literally. It was the cigarettes that kept me slim my entire life. But now that I don't smoke anymore.... Ahhh...
  • Your weight is usually a reflection of the water in your body (as you know 60% of your body is water). It fluctuates constantly. Don't expect it to reflect your fat stores. Use a trending app like Libra or Happy Scales to monitor your weight trend.
  • I don't like underdone sweet potatos and when they are well done they are very soft. I don't think toast will work very well.
  • So THAT'S the post you decided to reply to? When in doubt - look for the reactions under a post. Many "woo" reactions means it's rubish and you should ignore it. Read carefully the other replies and consider them. You've been given good advice.
  • My water ratains last for several weeks. Three times in the past 2 years they lasted for six weeks before a huge whoosh. So they will not necessarily be gone in a few days for everyone.
  • Lets think that through. You lose weight when you eat less calories than you burn, i.e. when you eat at a deficit. To eat at maintanance means to eat as many calories as you burn. When you eat at maintananca you maintain your weight. So the days when you decide to eat at maintanance you will not lose any weight. The days…
  • If you eat at a deficit you will lose weight and if you lift at the same time you won't lose much muscle. To gain muscle you need to eat surplus.
  • I lost the majority of my weight just by counting calories and eating things that I like. That doesn't mean I could eat everything I wanted. If I wasn't going to starve I had to eat low calorie high volume foods. Culturaly I eat a Mediterranean diet with a lot of vegetables, but we cook vegetables much more than they do in…
  • When people say you can't spot reduce they mean you can't do it intentionally. You CAN spod reduce and spot gain but only unintentionally and as dictated by your genetics.
  • My average heart rate is much higher during the summer months when the temp is above 30C. Sadly that doesn't mean you burn more calories.
  • You can have a yummy salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, basil and a bit of feta cheese for 200-250cals... or 15 nuts... or 2 tbsp peanut butter. Personally I always go for the salad bowl. But seriously guys... Nuts?! The OP is hungry!
