That's a huge difference !! I need to take my focus off the scale. Well done - and this is a great post

It's a salter. It's nothing fancy but gives a bf reading. I wouldn't say the reading itself is accurate but I think as against itself it is reliable for the trend. It makes sense too - I've been feeling smaller even tho I don't see it on the tape measure. I'm less lumpy rather than smaller at my waist and hip measurements…

Quick tip/observation - I know scales that measure body fat percentage aren't very accurate but I've found it really helpful. I've not lost much weight in the past 4 weeks and would be quite downhearted as I'm lchf and doing it strictly. However scale says I've lost 2.5% body fat in that period which is brilliant. Now the…

I find my appetite hugely reduced on a low carb diet. 20-30g carbs. After some weeks I can eat this way without needing to log as I know how to stay under cal and carbs just by sticking to my meals. I find that takes much of the effort out of losing weight. I have to plan meals but that's really all I have to do for steady…

I'm down 10 kilos (mainly achieved through keto) Really pleased. That's halfway to my initial goal. I'm nearly in the ideal weight bmi range and my waist measurement is finally at 32 inches - another health indicator I wanted to meet. After 4 months I can now exercise while on a keto diet - I previously found it impossible…

41 tried several times to lose just counting calories and couldn't. Well I couldn't stick to the limits without feeling hungry and ending up bingeing. So I was just losing and regaining dnd slowly creeping towards obese over 8 months despite exercise lots of veg etc. Very depressing Last 3 months I switched to a low carb…

Thanks 6-16 weeks is a fairly long time. But generally I'm feeling like a healthy weight is possible if I stick to this - and I can actually stick to this so I'll just have to dig in

That's great. I'm also keen to see how going out will work.

Work OK for me. I'm sure measuring blood ketones would be more accurate but I'm not a science project. Just need a decent ish yardstick

@JodiSW - yes Im a huge fan of buffy. Pic is from the comics s8. The first 2 comic seasons weren't great tbh but season 10 I'm enjoying right now. Hope you find your groove w keto again. I'm currently living it but haven't tackled eating out yet. I'm getting a buzz from cooking all kinds of new things to help w variety.…

How about making sauces or differently flavoured mayo to have with meat? Something herby/lemony, something mustardy, something with capers and gherkins something with curry or chilli. Keeps it varied. I'm making sauces with cream cheese and yoghurt or making mayo snd then dividing into smaller containers for different…

Thanks for that. It's like learning everything again

Hi everyone After trying and failing this year to lose weight and get fit I'm switching approach to low carb keto diet. I'd like some keto-dieting friends please. I'm a bit scared as my blood fats are bad - I have genetic high blood fats. Known it since my 20s. In my 40s now and overweight just off obese. Keeping my weight…
