  • @SingingSingleTracker: Thanks for your input, but why on the rest day? I thought bodyweight exercises involve the whole body and it would be better to give my legs at least one rest day... or not?
  • Thanks for your response! The first time I went to the fitness class I had sore muscles the day after, but that doesn't happen anymore. And I don't feel fatigued in general either - if I were too fatigued or still sore from the previous day, I wouldn't exercise the next day. But how to add bodyweight exercises to my…
  • That sounds like a great idea! @jlcbooth - at least we have the same goal weight, it seems. :) Gender: female (21) Height: 5'9'' / 1,75m Starting weight (December 2015): 150 lbs / 68kg Current weight: no idea, taking only measurements atm as I don't have a scale right now. o:) Goal weight: around 135 lbs / 61-62kg (I don't…
  • 1. To get the best out of me by becoming stronger, healthier and more confident about my looks. 2. This inner voice asking "Why? You got along perfectly fine so far, why change anything and step out of the comfort zone?"
  • Oh, wow. Wouldn't have expected anybody here to guess what njaalla (or rather, njálla - not to be confused with njalla) stands for. But yes, the nick is Sami, but I'm not. And I do live in Finland right now (though that was not the country I was referring to), so your guess was quite accurate. ;)
  • Haha, how did you come up with Finland? Yes, I think it's quite possible, the only hard thing is staying within the calorie goal at the same time.
  • Thanks for that answer and posting all those references in the previous post! I eat about 1g/kg bw right now, but as I'm losing weight and started being more active, I should probably increase. Luckily I'm from a fish- and dairy products-loving country, so I might manage without protein shakes.
  • Does that really apply to everybody, regardless of gender, age etc? When I calculated my daily caloric intake, it gave me 55g as a daily protein goal. I eat lots of high protein food (fish, dairy products like quark, yoghurt and milk, eggs...) and usually get a bit more than 60g of protein per day. I never thought that I…
  • Yesterday was W1D2. Tried it with one earphone in this time, worked quite well, better than I expected. After the 30 minutes were over, we still had to get back home and as we were both hungry, we didn't want to walk back slowly. So we ended up doing another 15 minutes of running + walking intervals, trying to count the…
  • My diary is open for my friends only and so far, I never got any questions on what I eat. I wouldn't want to explain why I eat something the way I eat it, but if someone were curious about something I ate, I'd gladly share the recipe. However, I always wonder how much sense people can make out of my diary anyway. I try to…
  • Nowadays I love dark lager beer the most. I grew up in Bavaria (partly, at least), though, so whenever I'm there I go for pale lagers, like Augustiner or Hacker-Pschorr.
  • Thanks for the answers! It's quite cold and rainy here, so I used a rainjacket and had my phone in the pocket. Didn't want to hold it in my hand all the time as I was scared I might drop it. Maybe I'll try with one earphone in today. I'm running together with my bf, so I don't want to have both earphones in, otherwise I'd…
  • Hey! Newbie here, started with W1D1 the day before yesterday, going for the next "run" tomorrow. I just wondered how do you keep track of the time? I had my smartphone in my pocket, but the sound it made whenever a turn was over was soo silent that I ended up running more than 60 seconds most of the time. Couldn't feel the…
  • Thank you to all of you for your input! :) @gebeziseva: I didn't even count the walking as an exercise, that first calculator just asked how active I am in my free time, so that's why I added the two hours of walking per week. I started working out, though, but I log my workouts on mfp, so it raises my daily caloric goal…
  • Just had to post that one here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KlgbKIswpzI
  • For now, I'd like to loose some 5kg / 11lbs and then just see how I feel about it. I also want to become fitter which is why I started working out recently, but not on a daily basis.
  • @chloedanielle03 Well, it's the same for my boyfriend, he usually avoids all kind of vegetables. Then again, it depends a lot on the meal. I for example figured that when there's only salad, he won't eat it, but when I prepare salad with some bacon and eggs, he'll love it. :D But at least that's a motivation to try new…
  • Haha, good for you. My boyfriend usually avoids what he calls "too healthy food" and loves all kind of sweet things, so I have to be really creative when cooking for both of us.
  • Getting older? At 18? Now I feel like I'm already old. :D I feel with you, though. I have a sweet tooth, too, and I really love baking. But now that I changed my diet a little all those cakes, muffins etc don't really fit in there anymore.
  • German here. I need my beer once in a while. However, I'm in Scandinavia right now and beer here either tastes like water or is really expensive - or in most cases, both. When I drink beer over here, I usually go for some imported dark lager. It's affordable and tastes a lot better than the local beers. But still, it's…

  • I couldn't imagine not having any breakfast at all. It's just part of my morning routine - before I leave the house, I have my morning coffee and eat something. It doesn't have to be something really big, however I've noticed that when I eat nothing or only very little, I get really hungry before lunch time. Really, really…
  • Hey! If you're interested in what we have for breakfast in Northern Europe, you can send me a friend request. ;) It's not that spectacular, though. For me, it's usually some kind of porridge (spelt, oatmeal, mixed grains etc), quark or müsli. You can also check the mfp blog for breakfast recipes. I tried the 3-ingredients…
  • Yeah, a good guess is the best you can do. I usually eat everything they serve me, though. I was raised that way, that it's polite to eat everything that's on the plate. Of course when I'm really full, I don't continue eating, but portions at most restaurants aren't usually that big. I don't weigh my food all the time,…
  • Getting hungry is an indicator for me that it's time to finally go to bed. I eat dinner at a normal time, but when I stay awake too long, I get hungry again. Going to bed when I'm just a little bit hungry works for me - given that I'm tired, too.
  • Nice! Now I already feel less lonely.
  • Last book I finished was H is for Hawk by Helen MacDonald. I liked it a lot, it's just so beautifully written.
  • You have a great choice of destinations over all, but especially nice to see that someone has an interest in the Baltics! I'm from Estonia myself and have been to Latvia and Lithuania a couple of times as well. Lithuania really is a beautiful place, we go there for a music festival each summer and always try to see a bit…
  • Iceland, doing a round trip on the island and see as many nature sights as possible.
