43 and am feeling strong and lean with more endurance than ever. Plus, I am not broke like I was in my 20's LOL. Life is great.

IMO - If you are doing ultra-events (half is an ultra) you do need weights. However, with weights you need to build muscular endurance(ME). If you use too much weight and move too fast, you are building neuro-muscular strength not ME. You really need to to focus on weight with more reps and duration than you would think…

Carb cravings hahaha I have them too. Try eating a dill pickle spear. Also, look into erythritol. I mix a bit with some peanut butter. Try those two things out.

If you are in a keto state, you don't need any carbs. Your liver will do the job of producing any that you need.

Ahh, that is good because it is difficult to loose weight and get the right food on the frozen processed food.

These might sound silly... Do you have calluses on your toes? If you do get pumice and get rid of them. As suggested above...your shoes might be laced to tight Are your socks to tight at the top? Are they hitting and nerve or cutting too much blood? When you get tired are you loosing form? You might be hitting your heel…

One simple opinion I will offer, if your knees are hurt from running, walking, cycling, swimming, etc. your muscles are not strong enough. Time to weight train.
