  • Thanks, Katla! It's my one indulgence, and I earn it hard at the gym, and then I relish it hard.  !!
  • Butt Day at the gym today. I hope I can flutter kick tomorrow! o.O
  • Ahhhh HUGE NSV today. My scale has been stuck for a month, so I needed this: I walked into the gym and everyone's jaw was dropping at how much leaner I look, than last week. It's true, too: I could see it in my quads. Take that, stupid scale.
  • I limped the mile to my gym....it was about 17 minutes, but Runkeeper blew up my phone and I had to pull the battery to reset....then my trainer decided it was Butt Day. Oww, my butt.
  • I'm glad that works for you; they sound delicious! I know frozen blueberries are great, too. The thing about ice cream, for me--and really, I mean gelato--is that it's sooo creeeamy. So sometimes, a thick yogurt is a decent substitute. I'm so over substituting the food though, but continuing the habit. It's just not what I…
  • This is one of those YMMV things. Ketosis specifically controls my migraines, just as it controls some kinds of seizures. Low GI would not do this. I had developed side effects from every anti-seizure Rx I'd ever been put on; so far the only side effect I've had from keto is losing 20 lbs of almost all fat.
  • Interesting. I've been on 100 fat/100 protein/20 carb and I lost 20 lbs and then stalled, too. I've been stuck for a month. I swim for an hour four or more times a week, and lift weights for about an hour, three times a week, and throw in some walking when I can.
  • I can't believe it's practically June. I mean, it IS June in Europe and Asia. What? My May goals were:* "keep logging everything" --done, all but one day. Went to a thing, ate some stuff...stuck to my rough guidelines, but didn't log. * "stick to the new calorie counts" --done, all but two days, and at least I logged the…
  • I just limped a little over a mile with my cane, for a 16:27 mile. I used to walk a 12-minute mile, so I can limp relatively fast fast.
  • Day 1: 50 seconds...I wanted to see how long I could go, as a baseline.
  • Day 1: 43 seconds...I wanted to see how long I could go, as a baseline
  • Good morning. I'm allllmost through my obligatory end-of-month work crunch. See you on the June thread!
  • Eeeevill kickboards! hahahah. Gggrr. Swimming later today; first time since, umm, Friday? I can't wait!
  • Great idea! I'm looking for challenges for June. I'm starting the wall squat challenge tomorrow; I'll start this, too.
  • Oooh I'm in, starting tomorrow.
  • Oooh I'm in. I tend to give up too easily on walking, as I have a limp these days, and it discourages me. Meanwhile, there are days I couldn't possibly have made it to the pool, that I probly coulda walked. A challenge will help.

  • You don't have to lose your butt; what gives it shape is your gluteus muscles, more than fat...so if you do squats, lunges, and deadlifts, you can get an awesome butt. How much breast size you lose depends partly on your body type, i.e. pear vs. apple, etc. I lost weight all over, including my chest, but when you lose 8"…
  • All work and no swim this weekend...but my end-of-month client is easily half my income some months, so oh well.
  • :flowerforyou:
  • Okay, my crawl stroke fell apart today. I think the kickboard broke it. I swallowed water a couple times, and three times I had to roll to backstroke while coughing. At one point, I was coughing and coughing and backstroking and coughing, and the lifeguard yelled, "Just keep coughing!" with a grin and a thumbs up. HAHAHA…
  • What a cute bike, nanalisax3! Larisa
  • I would like to join
  • Yep, I am.
  • If it makes you feel any better, I have never had one... nor a mammogram. My excuse so far has been that I was a little busy with ortho surgeries..and no one in my family has had either issue. I did promise my GP I'd start getting mammograms soon. Larisa
  • Well said. "Heavy lifting" is a weight you can't lift more than 10 times --or 8, or 6, depending whom you ask...the point of it being that you truly stress the muscle and force it to strengthen and grow. This is no mere "toning". And this is a big deal, because one of the main differences between a 20-year-old…
  • Maybe 20 minutes, cumulative? I do a couple lengths and then set it aside until my neck loosens up, and repeat. I do really enjoy the superman drill, and it was helping me a lot. I guess I'll go back to it. Yah, this! I love doing this...and I think it was working. I don't know why she made me switch to a kickboard.
  • It is, very stressful! My low neck and upper back spasm a bit, and as a rower, I'm really strong there! I hate to question my instructor; she's been a delight, and very helpful overall, but maybe I should stop taking this bit of instruction. Hmmm.
  • Make it Nathan Fillion, let me fix my own computer, and I'll sign up.
